Has anyone walked the beach between Shipwreck and Carambola?
-
It will be less than $20 each way for the 4 of you. Most will stop at Timothy Hill for photo ops if asked. Arrange your return with your driver. Enjoy Shipwreck.
Thanks for the info!

Brewers Bay offers good snorkeling with a beach that is shallow and slowly slopes forever!

We went to Brewers Bay.
Be forewarned, the trip there is not for the faint of heart! It is located across the mountain (big hill, really) and it is an interesting trip there but well worth it! As long as you aren't looking for crowds, food trucks, loud music and water toys! What it is though, is a most relaxing beach. The beach entry is smooth and very long and shallow. Snorkeling is very good on the left hand side against the rocks. The beers are cold and there is good shade. Chairs and umbrellas are available. The water is very calm.
Thanks for the beautiful pics!

Fellow BUCKEYE fan! :)
Would you please report back after your visit. I would love to hear how you liked it. Also, is the snorkeling good here?
Thanks!

I sent a note to the Captain asking if DH could tour the bridge. A few days later we were invited. We also had an inside cabin and no status! :)

It was worth it to us. Very beautiful, good food and fun place to walk around. However, we could not stay awake late enough to see it at night like those beautiful photos. If I'm not mistaking we went back to the hotel around 10:30 and it was still light out!

Thanks for the info! Love to explore on our own.

We are considering this ship and itinerary. Do you know when the last dry dock was? Thanks for all the info!

The Veendam took one hell of a pounding during the hurricane it encountered off Cape Horn in December 2010. Many of the boards on the open bow deck were overlapping when we finally limped into Ushiaia (sp.), but we were alive.
We were also on that cruise! Hubby loved the storm but the ship took quite a hit!

We actually had an easy time walking around as the streets were closed to cars around the Colosseum and other tourist sites.

We are back from our trip and our strategy worked an we were all able to sit near each other and keep the preferred ratio of 2 adults per kids on all three flights.
Yesterday was a long day with a lot of hurry up and wait as we got off the ship, transferred to FLL and then had to wait 3 hours at the airport before we could check our bags and go through security.
By the time we got on the last flight the kids (and adults) were all at the end of our ropes. The 4 year old had a meltdown on the last flight but otherwise we survived.
Glad it all worked out! Thanks for reporting back.

We were off the epic at 6 am. Made all of our flights today on time or early. Couldn't have been any easier!
Glad it all worked! Ignore the rude ones. :)

It's kind of sad they are doing away with the nicer dance areas! :(
