Our next day was pretty Halifax Nova Scotia. We were meeting Debβs BIL & SIL for lunch. And what a lunch. Deb had the seafood chowder and declared it excellent even though there was no lobster in it π Carol and I had the Reuben - best one I have ever tasted. Carolβs was gluten free so on a different bun (no idea why the pic is upside down - I played and canβt fix it here - will try on an edit. And Jim had goat cheese & red beet salad with lots of shrimp. All very good and actually not a bad price despite the location.

You are correct. There were some bread things on some of the plates. We mostly tasted Italy, New Zealand & France. New Zealand was the winner for me and I told the steward to fill βer up.

On our Portland day, we had to be back on board by 12:30. With a sailing that early ther was a nice invite to the 5* Mariners+ to attend the Round the World Wine Tasting. itβs always fun and a lot better IMO than the regular wine tastings. I donβy remember seeing these plates used before.

Been having a few issues with internet. For whatever reason when we returned from port, we had to log back in and like a dummy, I didnβt think of that soon enough and figured internet was down. So, Iβm doing some back racking. Portland night our entertainer was Mike Robinson from Halifax. My understanding is he was called in when one of the dancers had passport issues. I donβt know how to describe Mike except to say he is as funny as heck and a very talenteted ventriloquist. I was laughing so hard that only after did I fully comprehend the difficulty of what he was doing. If you have the chance to see him - go. He is very talented and very funny.

If you read my initial post I ask people to post 3 weeks in advance. I also posted and bumped the thread for 4 weeks in a row that I was cruising and begged people to follow the guidelines. I go by the listing I have and warned I would not be updating but I will do what I can for you. I just canβt promise. If you want the job, itβs all yours. I am coming onto 11 years and would really appreciate some understanding and reading of my first post. Thanks I am enjoying the cruise and gave myself a pat on the back because I remembered to do the Bon Voyage today π π Could you please confirm if this is 2024 or 2025 please? and how many days? And the name of the cruise please? thanks and kudos to you for your first solo cruise π and

Thereβs several tables. I think all the games are offered. I will double check for you tonight. Oops - now I have to go back to the casino (like that wasnβt going to happen anyways π) They are very sturdy. Now, unlike a cane, you canβt lean on them that much BUT they can help push you and still support you and if you hold them vertical they do give support if you are standing. the plus for me is that they make your back stay straight if you use them right whereas with a cane you tend to lean. Since my back diagnosis itβs key I keep it straight until we sort it out. the only thing I find is that the feet can move and I have to move them back. Mine come with different feet for sidewalks, snow, etc. You donβt want to use them with the cane type bottom. It doesnβt do what you need for walking. maybe for standing, but not for walking. Hope this helps?

Thanks so much for this. Loved that little ship (or the EE as I called her). I think way over 1/2 my sailing days are on her. My biggest regret is it took me so long to chance a cruise on such an βoldβ ship. Best ship in the fleet always for me. π

And now you get the embarrassing kazu story behind these pics. I woke up and thought the clock said 6:30 AM on Portland day so I figured I might as well get up and have my bath. Got out of the bathtub dressed and put on my watch. Ooops - it was 4:15 AM π±. Well, once Iβm up, Iβm up - so I slipped out of the room ever so quietly and headed to the Lido to get a coffee, catch up on emails and my thread. I saw the sun rise One of the few sundries pics you will get from me so enjoy π and entering Portland. Amazingly I stayed up all too late, took in the show - more on that later and the casino. Some people are just plain crazy π

Back on the ship sailing out of Portland. Itβs a pretty sail away. Captain Van Eerten told us to keep our eye out for the most photographed lighthouse in America. And, of course asked us to take pics of it so it would continue to be the most photographed π No, it wasnβt this one although I liked it better - so cute. It was this one. Coming from lighthouse country, I confess I liked the little one better - different π

So yesterday we were in Portland. It was a very short visit again due to slowing down for whale migration. 7 - 12:30. This is a βslothβ cruise so we are in no rush and had a leisurely breakfast in the PG. I told Deb that the ham and cheese skillet was good but she said she didnβt t like poached eggs. I told her to ask for scrambled and she got it. She liked it. I had my on occasion favourite eggs Benedict - without sauce. oh and of course, we had mimosas. I told you it was a sloth cruise π I had found a trolly tour that I thought would be perfect for our short day and my foot and legs but sadly. It doesnβt start until May 1st. WTH? I live near a port city and season or not, I guarantee you if a cruise ship is in town everything is up and running. But we found a fire truck trolly tour - an old fire truck - quite historic - that does the same thing and goes around Portland to the sites. Very good. One hour so enough time NOT to be late for the all on board time π On the walk there it appeared that all the buildings in one area were originally warehouses and were converted to shops and apartments. They were quite interesting.

Weβre doing our best π π Got mine there too. I took my cane on the plane last time. It folds like the poles. this time I will use one of the poles since my back stays straighter. I fold them up and stick them in the pocket of my personal item. fits just tine.

I also have a folding cane. It is very secure, very. My physio was impressed with it. Much better than the drug store variety. concierfe visited this morning. Checked the other walking stick, seems the guy behind the scenes has figure d it out. Showed her many she showed me. Of course there was nothing in the manual about it. Haven help anyon e on CC Who posts about removing the crew incentive in the next little bit. Debbieβs luggage and my sticks show how much these guys behind the scenes do for us π
