  1. I'm booked on the Constellation 12 night cruise leaving from Rome in June 2015. We are interested in doing a 3 day pre-cruise, possibly with transfers from the airport and to the ship on departure day. Any information on this is appreciated. Thanks...

We are doing the same cruise in May 2015. I called to see what the cruise line offered, and its was roughly $500 per person per night. We found a lively hotel 1 block from the Trevi fountain, with free bkfst and Wi-fi, with king beds for $300 Euro for 3 nights. (not per person) and they arranged for a van to pick us up, and bring us to the hotel $48 Euro for 2. I cant yet arrange our tours in Rome as its too early, but I arranged for transfer from the hotel to the Cruise terminal for $50 Euro (per van). Celebrity will give you a transfer from Rome, if you get to one of the hotels they offer, for $110 per person (USD) so I thought, if we went with that, we'd just do a pre-cruise tour of Rome with Celebrity for like $129 which included transfers. But since I found this cheaper way, we're not going to do that.

Here is where we are staying, http://www.relaisromacentro.com/en/1/home.html

I've already spoken to Anca to give her our CC# to hold (she called me here in MN) and made sure she and I were on the same page regarding airport pick up. They'll have a driver there, with a sign for our last name, and bring us straight to the hotel.

Super cute place, excellent reviews, in the middle of downtown can walk to everything (even the Vatican, but thats far for some folks)

I'd say, if you're worried and can afford it, have it through Celebrity. But if you are on a budget, its not at all hard to do it on your own.

Go get in on a roll call on this site for your cruise, if there isnt one created yet, you can make one. Mines already got some great folks on it, that are super helpful.

And most of all, have a wonderful time!!

  2. Does the Century still do the Pacific Coastal tours in the fall of 2015 and if they do what is the ship like.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I was on this itinerary in May of this year (2014) The Century will be decommissioned next year, so Nope, it wont be doing that sailing again. It was considered a re-positioning cruise, and we booked it 2 years prior. I watched it for price drops the entire time, and never saw it being "heavily discounted" in fact when I called a month or so prior, it was sold out.

I do think this is an under-served area, and was a wonderful itinerary, and I'd do it again. I did hear that other cruise lines will offer it, but I try and sail only on Celebrity. I thought they had a reverse of the itinerary in the fall after leaving Alaska, but if you arent seeing it, then I guess not.

I think if they get lots of questions asking about it, and that it sold well, they'd add it again. My guess is they'll use a different ship for the Alaska sailings next year, and maybe that one will pick it up?

Maybe check with Princess? I thought I saw one there leaving out of San Fran when we were there this May.

  3. HI,

Just did the Vatican Night Tour at the end of May and got the tour guide. The Door at the Museum opens at 7PM and people were there starting at 6:15PM Our tour started at 7:30PM and ended about 9PM then you had the rest of the night until 11PM to wander / revisit the Vatican on your own.

This was my 2nd time on a tour and it was different than the 1st one!

Doing the Night Tour either with a guide or on your own is GREAT NO CROWDS, No getting connected into a different group. You will really enjoy it:):).

Reminder St Peter's closes around 5PM to get in and literally I think you need to leave by 6PM!

    ENJOY!

Those night tours are only on certain nights right? Like just Fri and maybe one other night?

We get in on Sat morning and out on Mon morning, so I think we cant do one of these, but I bet its so pretty at night!

  4. First time with Celebrity so all new to me.

Both Wife and I have a figure of £240 under our names.

What concerns me is that we are now 30 days out from our cruise and I

cannot print out my Xpress card and order tags etc.

I have fully completed the online check in up to the " print Xpress card " stage.

It says not yet available and that they will email when ready!

I have spoken with Celebrity UK teice in the last few weeks and have been told not to worry as the system is phased?

I am starting to think Fobbed Off is more likely :(

With Regent last year we had received our docs and tags in a lovely Ipad size leather wallet by this time!! I guess Modern Luxury does not mean Modern Efficiency

Is anyone else having the same problem with online check in??

    Cheers

    Tom

Here is what it says on My celebrity about luggage tags.

    Luggage Tags:

In order to request personalized adhesive luggage tags, your eDocs (guest documents) must have been issued and your request must be made more than 11 days prior to the sailing date. Go to Online Check-in to request your luggage tags.

As a TA, I can tell you we have no control over those. You have to have had your e-docs issued, and once you do, you yourself can click on a link to order luggage tags. Its usually 3 weeks or so before you sail. Ask your TA if e-docs have come, and ask that they email you as soon as they do, and once you get the email about that you can go and order your luggage tags online :-) Easy Peasy.

  5. I have a question about the 'My Celebrity' online reservation site which has been puzzling me for the last few days.

I have a reservation I made a couple of weeks ago with a TA. I added it to 'My Celebrity' account and everything appears to be in order. I can access the reservation - View Reservation, do online check in, etc. But one thing is really puzzling me and maybe one of you can help?

If I go to - My Reservation - Manage Reservation - View Guests

Underneath each of our names it has a figure £xxx.xx which bears no resemblance to the cost of the cruise/ obc or anything else we can possibly think of relation to our cruise cost.

Can anyone shed any light on this - should it show the cost of the cruise? Is it some money they have given us to spend (Doubt it) or is it a computer glitch? Or worst still do they think we still owe money (we have paid in full)

Anyone got any ideas, does anyone else have something similar showing on their celebrity online?

I think its your on board credit, which is dependant on the cruise, length and room type. It is part of the 123go offer, where you can choose 2 of the three freebies. If its in pounds, and your country money is pounds, then that would be my guess!

  6. Does anybody have the same problem:

When trying to do the online check-in I got the message "invalid birth date". I checked my reservation confirmation and the birth date is given correct. So it can´t be a problem of my TA providing wrong personal data to Celebrity. Sent an email to Celebrity weeks ago and never even received an answer. Doesn´t seem to be a problem of only one day or so on their website as I have been trying to do the online check-in once a week for 2 months or so now.

    Any ideas?

Its totally goofy, and took me a long time to figure out. But you have to post it like this..

Lets say your b-day is July 4 1999. You have to go 04jul1999

You need the 3 first letters of the birth month in the middle.

    September 18 2000 is 18sep2000.

Once you do it that way, you'll be fine :-)

  7. FYI, as a TA, we cant discount. Thats not up to us to set prices, or offer promo's, not even a little bit. What is in our power, and not always, is what we can discount in our commission, and even then that depends on the agent and if they are their own boss or not. We have to work with the same deals you see on the Celebrity sites. Also, why if you check 3 places and its all the same, its b/c we cant control that at all.

We wish we could! But we cant :-)

  8. To follow up: When I called the 1-888 number, it was actually for RCI, not Celebrity. They told me that I should book the cruise direct with the cruiseline and make final payment, and then once the points were redeemed, I would be issued the refund.

They also told me that it should be combinable with the residency offer, but that I need to call the 1-800 number for Celebrity just to be sure. They were already closed for the evening when I called, so I will have to call tomorrow.

Royal Caribbean owns Celebrity, so that's why it was them when you called. Same company :-)
