Sometimes when from a TA it ends up just being enough OBC to cover a specialty meal. In this case the OBC can be used for anything but probably won't be available until onboard.
Correct, in my experience it will show up on your on board account by the second day as a monetary amount. Just added to the amount at the end of the week. No worries

Sailed Horizon back in the early 90's. Was the ship that gave me a love for cruising, especially with Celebrity. Still one of the best experiences cruising after 20 plus cruises!
Agree, she was brand new, Celebrity’s first new build.

On any of the hump balconies if you plan to relax and read bring a light.

Haven’t had a soda in years, now diabetic.

Customer service across the country has been at the level since Covid, can’t get workers, etc, stores closed etc. I would not expect that it would be any different at other cruise lines.

Best bet is to check the S class sticky at the top of the Celebrity main page.

In our experience Luminae is fairly quiet until about 12.45 then suddenly fills up. As there are often several guests on board unfamiliar with the menu (and the drinks package) service can slow somewhat.
We tend to aim to board early, collect cards, champagne in the Retreat and be seated in Luminae at 12.30. We usually skip hotel breakfast so we have room for the burger (it really is good) and skip dessert so we can enjoy our first dinner on board!Pretty much what we do.

Pretty much when you get on board, I would guess noon to 2:30 or so. Try the burger, one of the best you will have. Also if you on too early, just go to retreat lounge. Prior to eating you can go to your room, drop off carry on and picK up room keys. Really easy.

If the website won't allow you to change it, go to the maitre d once on board and they will try to work out whatever reservation preferences you have.
That is the best way however what cabin category are you in. If you are in anything other than Main Dining Rooms you basically are in anytime dining.

As stated,, soda is extra but if you have drink packages, your pretty much covered. In Dining rooms just tell your server.

There is a lot more on the menu at Sushi on 5. You should check the menu in the app before ruling it out.
Yup, check the app for menus. I can’t stand Bait on Five. Lots of options.

Some recommendations for Murano, Warrm goat cheese soufflé, Chateabrian for two at your table, whole lobster. Also dessert , Dark Chocolate soufflé and the best thing I’ve had on a Celebrity ship sailing with them for 30 years Grand Marnier soufflé.
Not the only items in Murano, be advised all the restaurants will have different steak types.

I’m guessing maybe 20 years ago they had Pepsi and switched to Coke. Whatever , one of the funniest posts ever was a woman who came on Celebrity and cancelled her cruise when she found out they did not have her preferred soda brand.

I've never been to Key West. Is it pretty easy to just get off the ship and walk around on your own or do you recommend an excursion?
Trolley is easy, hop on or off.

In addition to the restaurants mentioned above Eclipse also has a Sushi on 5. Japanese inspired with al a carte pricing.
Murano is excellent, just tell your Suite assistant (Butler) when you want to go. Book on website or look for sales on first night.

We recently booked a 10 day on the Summit. We love the itinerary but it looks like there are no Celebrity tours in Newport, RI.
I see on other sites several walking tours. Are there any bus tours or tours inside some of the magnificent old homes there?
Thanks for your help.
If you go to the visitor center pretty much across the street, I would take a city tour with one of the mansions. If you have never seen Breakers do that. We were on land trip so had four days, we did on one day take a boat tour of city. Also, if you eat on island on certain days there is a food truck behind the Marriott with good seafood from Fisherman from Newport. Delicious

Cruises of 4 to 6 nights have 1 Chic Night, Cruises 7- to 11-night have 2, and those of 12 nights or more nights have 3 Chic Nights.
Yes on an 11 night you will have 2 Chic nights.
All cruises of 7 or more nights are now 2 Evening Chic nights according to link you posted, no more three nights.

We really liked the Indian food in the buffet on Equinox in October and Millennium in December.
However we were disappointed with the Indian on the Apex, only a few dishes and most weren't good, lacked flavor/spices. Two supervisors said Celebrity management told them to decrease the number of dishes and spices. I'd rather they not have any if not done right.
Buffet is nice if you're in a hurry or don't want to dress up. Food wasn't as good as lunch and the place was pretty empty when we went on Apex. MDR was better and had higher quality items. Two circular buffet stations were empty at dinner.
Why Not

Actually Luminae's menu is also MDR on M and S class ships. Celebrity realized a long time ago that the Luminae menu was too small for the majority of its cruisers. They have tried to supplement it with the MDR menu on M and S class ships where it is easy. On the E class ships it is not, so they added always available, which is unwritten. Some nights 60% of Luminae cruisers order something off an alternate menu. Celebrity knows exactly what is popular and what is not. I was hoping for an E class menu expansion before Covid, but it hasnt happened yet. Celebrity wants these cruisers to be happy, and they will do what they can to accomplish that. Nobody should feel funny asking. All cruisers are entitled to eat in the dining room assigned to them with a meal they will enjoy (within reason).
I tend to agree with you in theory but the problem is all they have to do is say the dog is a service dog under the ADA. We simply don’t know how these people present themselves because under the ADA the cruise line cannot under law ask for proof.
-
The shame is that they closed those restaurants on the M class ships and left us with only Tuscan. Lots of complaints since they did it.

I believe in the area of the buffet you can get coffee 24/7. You-can also get coffee early at the Aqua spa cafe.

At your age you will remember Dunn’s river falls for years. We did a boat tour to the fall, must do in Jamaica.
