We have been wondering too. We go in January. We are thinking of booking when we get there 2 days ahead for a taxi or shuttle to the port, and taking a cruise tour after that ends at the airport in houston...

Yes we are thinking of staying on the Island. Haven't found any hotels that offer shuttles...

We will not have a car. Can anyone tell me what the best way to get to the cruise pier is? There doesn't seem to be any shuttles from the Hotels...

Thank you for the link to your great review. We have never been to Costa Maya and are going in Jan. The aviary sounds good. Would you say it's not really a good place to snorkel there? We like snorkeling. Is there any other things you would recomend? Oh I must say your Daughter's photography is very good! Can I ask what camera's you have for underwater? We have had a hard time finding a good one, but that doesn't have too high a price... Thanks

We want to snorkel and are thinking of the North or West shore, but really DON"T want to see sharks! I know some people would love to but I'm not one of them. lol
