I am not sure what you mean by premiere. Silversea and Seabourn would be more luxurious. An Antarctic landing would trump anything Holland America offers in my book.
Oops! Not looking for luxury, per se. I meant to say is HAL the best of he mainstream cruise lines? ( like they are for Alaska)
Thanks!

A few questions, as we're pondering this cruise for 2015. We were looking for 2014, but all of the port side cabins were booked...
If we depart from Valparaiso, I would assume the port side is the side one would book, correct?
Discuss why one would do the antarctic cruise.... It's twice the price!
Do you check often for price reductions, and historically, do these prices drop significantly?
Probably not a question for this board, but is HAL the premiere cruise line to use for this cruise?
Thanks!

Do you use a particular PCC, or do you just call the 1-800 number. (Not asking for the name of your PCC - just a general question)
I have had a PCC contact me in the past, letting me know they would like to work with me, but for our upcoming cruise, I simply dialed the 1-800 # and booked. I have since called in twice - once to request an upgrade, and was very happy with the instantaneous and pleasant response.

No "free" spa "give-aways"
No bingo
No large table in MDR
No inside cabins
No photos
No ship sponsored stores
No port talks
No running around prior to the cruise to pick up "essentials" (we'll order off the menu, and not biotch too much about it! :p)
No gambling
I'll let our room steward know that while I "like" towel animals, I would rather have lots of fresh ice in the ice bucket;)
I love the trivia
I love the Crow's nest
I love watching people dance
I love exploring ports on my own
I love sitting at a local bar chatting with the locals while in port
I love the Pinnacle dining room - and will eat there at least once during a cruise -
I don't particularly like the Embassy Suites... too crowded for my tastes. We're going to try the Pillar's Hotel this time... I long for quiet and peace...:)

Zee rovers is the restaurant bar on the trikes trip. The catch and clean the fish.
Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
Thanks! Want to go back there...:)

Does anyone know the name of the beachside bar that the Trykes take you to?
We did this tour last year, and wanted to go back to that bar and mix with the locals...:)

What time does the PG open for breakfast on disembarkation day?

If all passengers would just so what they need to do in a timely fashion, I'm sure the drill would be over much more quickly!
And I do think it's a very important drill...:)
If I were you Gail, I would head to the medical office as soon as possible after you board.

We were on the Bolero - I believe it was 1996... Loved it, but we had 4 in a room the size of a bathtub!

Has anyone tried the Liliget Restaurant? I believe it is on or near the corner of Denman and Davie?
Thanks!
