I am surprised that so far, no one has commented on next years cruises.
I feel, very little new. Sadly, it looks likeiy, not p&o for me. Most probably
Cunard. Your comments, please.

Yes. To the question. There are lower desks, so wheelchair users
Can see the lady checking them in. We use them all the time.
Also as dai said, you can get assistance to board, if needed.
-
However there are a linited number of ports, available from southampton.
I think except for north america, i have reached this stage.
I too have become very familiar with lisbon. I actually quite like lisbon!
-
Well thankyou adammara! This is the kind of oppinion i was expecting to find
In the seasoned cruisers. I shall renew the passports. Will not cut off
The chance to go abroad. By what ever means. Keep the options open
Thanks again, mike, here in the new forest.

Anyone concidering reducing or giving cruising a rest?
After ten years of it, i am in that position.
Have two in the pipeline for this year. Will ofcourse be looking
At next year, but maybe giving it a rest.
Regards, mike. P&o and cunard.

It would be helpful if you mentioned which ship you will be on.
We all have experience of the p&o fleet.
-
Well David, perhaps like you, I tried google. No help there. Surprisingly!
Someone will now. Regards, Mike, Southampton, here in England.
-
We were there last autumn. It is a pleasant town to stroll around.
The ship berths right in the town. But you have a shuttle bus
To the dock gate. From there you can walk along the waters edge.
Next to which is a nice park. Cross the parallel road to the shopping
Area. So yes, we stayed here. Quite liked it.
-
Well possibly. Not really smart casual. Just casual. Others will disagree.
-
Thanks groove chick. This is exactly what I am on about.
The hand is faster than the eye.
-
The current p&o promotion, is advertising loads of obc, for basic
Cabin prices. We have all seen this. We know this is rubish.
Opinions please.

My neck of the woods! A friend took a taxi from the coach sta
Central Southampton, out to me in Dibden Purlieu. Part of hythe
Just one mile from the boat house, on hythe marina.
Some months ago, charged £27. Ferry , town quay to hythe, perhaps,
£4. Been a while since I have used the ferry. For ease of use, with al your bags
Although a bit expensive, taxi every time. Regards, Mike, edge of the
New forest.

I was speaking to the future cruise sales on aurora last November.
He told me,(rightly or wrongly), that the 2017 programme, will indeed
Be released earlier this year. The same time as the world cruises.
Before the usual end of March.

We use a wheelchair. The ticket time now has to be observed.
They will board you as soon as possible close to your ticket time.
-
The evidence is overwhelming.the days of arriving at midday, and going
Straight through, are over.(for the majority). I am certainly one of
The guilty party! My ticket time, October 28, was 230. We arrived
By car at 145. Given a ticket, and immediately shown to a check in
Desk. Pure luck, lady was waiting. In the cabin of aurora, just after
2. The cast is set. Ticket times have to be taken notice of.
The system does work.

Have we at last, come to the end of this marathon? No new posts
For five days. So this thread will slip off the front page.
It has been interesting, to look in each day.
So, is this goodbye? Regards , to all those contributors.
Mike.

On a cruise which we visited port said, Egyptian officials boarded
In Malaga. Had two days, to stamp the passports.
-
Just looked to see, who started this record breaking thread.
Fab 1, you must be very proud!

Yes, the weather is changeable. I have also known, sunny days, and rainy days.
Concerning the wheelchair. My wife uses one.bergan has a dedicated wheelchair
Shuttle. Perhaps ten minutes. Stevanger ,berths right in the town. There are
Cobbles around the cathedral, also somewhat hilly. But not too bad.
Gerangar is a tender port. Forgive my spelling of place names!
Alasund again right in the town. Olden, a lovely quiet place, usually
Alongside, but can be a tender port. The other northern ports, have not been
To. Going back next year early August. Like Norway very much. Once you
Have seen it, you will want to return.
-
I now have to wait until August5 2016 to have another go at this
Aurora to Norway. Actually feel like need a rest, after returning
Off the same vessel, with a jolly fine cold. Just recently
Do I get the magical 1000?
Have to post to find out!
-
You are right about the UK weather, up to three days out, and two or three days on the return. I accept this as the norm, for the convienance of sailing
In and out of Southampton. It is my home town! Have not been on a plane
For nine years. Happy not to go to an airport. I understand how you feel
Of course, especially if your journey to the port is a long one.
-
Yes, I am sure it is much fairer for everyone. However , I will miss
Arriving at midday, and usually getting straight on.
No flack please! I agree it is for the best! So will arrive close
To the ticket time, from now on. Love and peace.
-
Excluding the higher tiers, the aim is certainly to board very close to the ticket time. In my case recently, boarded half an hour before the ticket time.
Only because a desk was seen empty of a client.
Just very lucky!
