All I can say is,in all of the crossings,of this famous area of sea is
In my experience,is. The worst sea I have seen is a heavy swell.
Now, to a cruise novice, this can be quite alarming. But the reputation
Is I feel undeserved. Perhaps, force eight. Like others, have known
Force twelve. That is very noticeable.

We had THE BUG on aurora for perhaps five days during the cruise
Just returned from. No mention about this, until my report, on the forum.
Red alert, as it is known on board. Clear for the last few days.
-
Thanks, florry!!

Returned today, from two weeks on aurora. Arrived at mayflower terminal
At one forty five. Ticket said two thirty.there were many people sitting
And waiting.so was not too confident.lady gave me an h card.
Said sit over there. Straight after, she saw a position at check in
Vacant. Go there she said, oh joy, I thought! Two minutes, another two minutes
Through security. The lift was broken, so had to board from the keyside.
Returning today, buisiness as usual. The elevated walkway in position.
The new large lift, working. Just the usual fun of finding the bags!

Mayflower check in. Not opening until one o clock today.
-
Just heard from a check in friend. She just received an e mail, saying to
Turn up at 12.30 opening check in at 1 pm!! Mayflower.
I'm on aurora today, and live local. Will leave home at 1oclock.
-
Thanks john, we have also been fast tracked through jfk always first
On the aircraft. New York started our cruising, returned on queen Mary.
Have not flown since. (2006) not missed it!

Thank you dai,to date , the helper always took us to check in. Ocean terminal.
Previously at the mayflower, there was a queue to check in after security
The helpers waited in the lounge, until the call, then boarded all the wheelchairs
In a convoy. Tomorrow, will be interesting! Especially in the surroundings. The new ones that is. The word is the check in time has been put back to 12 .45.
Up to now always been in the terminal by midday. Have decided to arrive
Maybe an hour later. Ticket time 2.30. We shall see! Thanks everyone,
Who has taken an interest. Regards, Mike, here in hythe. Opposite
The berths.
-
Fingers crossed! Thanks you two!
-
Dai, as a fellow wheelchair/scooter user, how did you get on last time?
Did you get taken straight to check in,with assistance?
We go Wednesday on aurora. Would really like to know your experience.
Regards, Mike.
-
Stockton, which ship are you on? We are on c deck on aurora.
Given a time of 2.30 f you get assistance, you may very well get
Taken straight to check in. I am hoping this is the case for
We two. Dear wife in the chair. To date, this has always been the case.
We shall see on the day.
-
Thanks florry, just one last observation. At the airport, they always board wheelchairs first!
-
Thanks florry for your kind observation. You have obviously had some
Personal experience. I found the official statement from the p&o
Person very by the book, and unhelpful. But what more would we
Expect, from someone not directly involved with people with special needs.
We shall arrive before the ticket time. But not as early as we would
Have done in the past. As advised, will ask for assistance. Then we will see!!
Kind regards, for all your interest, Mike.

Yes, that is the problem. You never know for sure,if the journewill be problem free.our last cruise in April, after the return of Arcadia and aurora from
Their long trips, created massive traffic jams in west quay road.
I live 30minutes from dock gate 4. Took one and a half hours to get
There!
-
Yes another unknown quantity, Dorset cruiser. Why did they not
Leave well alone!

Hello all. My cruise on aurora is one week tomorrow. If I can find this on return, will report the embarkation experience. Failing that, will start a new thread, to bring it back to the top! Regards, Mike, oh so close, here in Southampton!
-
Thanks, wilson! Regards, Mike.
-
Thanks Florry!,regards, Mike.

Thanks, for a very considered opinion. My travel agent told me to go
As per usual. In other words, early! It has to be a gamble.
Perhaps we will know more before our aurora departure, on the 28th.
On a personal level, my wife is a wheelchair user, and with assistance
Have in the past been taken straight to check in.
-
Are we losing after many posts, the first point. Will we have to wait
Until the e ticket time to check in? Or not?
-
Enquired on the Cunard section. Everything is just fine there.
No change to their system. Take your turn in the queue check in
Etc.
-
On the p&o section, there has been a long running thread about boarding.
Enforcing the e ticket check in time. Does this development effect
Cunard? I have a foot in both camps!
-
I heard from a friend working checking, that passengers on coaches
Are being held onboard for a time before being allowed into the
Terminal building.
-
Thanks Wilson!
surely the end of civilisation as we know it.

Just returned from two weeks on aurora. I can say that your
Golden triangles are alive and well in the horizon buffet.
I sampled these a few times during the cruise.
Crispy, greasy, and yummy!
