  1. Hudson MDR is not busy this morning, hostess taking orders until ... slow, while some pax are already ashore on morning tours. We are going shortly once we finish breakfast ... 30 minutes later - breakfast arrived
  2. A little shopping trip in the late evening at one of the few grocery stores that's open till 11 PM on a Sunday -
  3. Extra Iceland photos from earlier - Unique and distinctive volcanic rock & soil formations ... and yes, we smell sulfur in the air, especially near those hot springs.
  4. Last batch of not so random photos hijacked off Susan's Samsung Galaxy - tonight, time to get zzzz's. Hudson MDR open at 7 AM for breakfast & then we head out again for several hours, drop off the rental w tank refilled, and back to the ship. Our home away from home for 15 days
  5. Yes, we rented a hybrid as pictured w built-in navigation & also support Apple Car play & Android Auto. Toyota Highlander that seats 6, tightly in row #3. Free parking in the lot next to the Pier's bus & taxi area, very easy. Be mindful local signage are minimal & not in English. One of our 2 friends also on CC served as navigator checking his map app. Gasoline is $$$ at about $9 USD here. Free parking is on the other side of this area, just across the street. A beautiful evening - about 9:30 PM and we went our again ... there is a line of taxis including vans, with fixed rates to take one to popular locations. Off duty crews with shore leaves either walked (long) or share a taxi to go into town at 11 PM (must be back by 2 AM)
  6. Yes, I have several devices - selectively - connected directly to our stateroom's USB-C and USB-A ports, also use them to recharge our portable battery pack. UK already helped answered & explain, I concur 100% from experience & knowledge. It's something that I don't do at airport public charging stations - and - the reason for carrying the battery bank to boost & recharge. Ship's outlets aren't exactly "public" unless it's hacked by ship security or housekeeping with access to tap into the wirings ... there are many other ways of gaining access if and when it's being carried out. Evil apps sneaked into Play Stores and those continued to be a problem. There are countermeasures available but ... nay, I am not worried or going to be paranoid about. It's the banking and corporate database breaches that can inflict more damaged ... enough said. Thanks for following along, again and to allow us to share the journey. Regards 😎
  7. MP4 short video clips - Iceland Reykjavik cruise terminal Iceland Reykjavik Port video 2.mp4 Iceland Reykjavik Port V1.mp4
  8. Update: I an sure you probably heard Alvin, CD announced just now, right before 8 AM that gangways are open & guests can go ashore. Annoyed that the Freestyle Daily printed misleading info about the need to do Face to Face interview, and, it wasn't corrected and revised until this announcement 😤 We are doing freestyle driving tour ourselves and already changed our pickup time nearby at MyCar.IS to 11 AM ... and will go ashore around 10:30. Wish all a great visit while here over the next 28+ hours. Save the port agent info on the FSD, just in case.
  9. Day 9 - Sunday and we've arrived into Iceland, about 5:15 AM local time (UTC) - turn on cellular service, roaming free on 4G LTE coverage from Google Fi.
  10. Just after midnight, Prima still at 18 kts and probably 70 to 80 NM from the cruise terminal. With Iceland face to face immigration, passport check for all at the Commodore Room, we are ordering hot breakfast room service delivery this morning to avoid chaotic mess by going downstairs to eat as the buffet is likely going to be a zoo. C.I. shared info that ship could be docking as early as 4 AM.
  11. Just pictures - enjoy the scenery from the balcony, starboard side at 9:30 PM and from the Surfside Cafe, thru the buffet window A beautiful late evening as the Prima continue to speed toward the harbor at Reykjavik, Iceland with fellow passenger(s) in need of higher level of advanced medical care. Wish them speedy recovery & get well again and soon 🙏 🙏
  12. It's official, Alvin CD just announced that Prima will be arriving by 6 AM due to onboard medical emergency, cruising at max speed - guests are advised to wait 90 minutes after arrival to set up the gangway, offload the patient, etc. before other guests can go ashore. No changes to shorex times via NCL. All abroad time is 12:30 PM on Monday. For all practical purposes, we gained 6 hours in Iceland. We pray for the patient's speedy recovery and to get well, and our thoughts & prayers for family & others traveling together. @Fogfog Sharon, sometimes, I rather be wrong or proven to be something else & different, logics and other data, put the puzzles together - led me to made that bold & darling call. I really wished the reason to speed up is for something else - with 3 Code Alpha
  13. @Fogfog Yulp, dad renewed his US passport but stored them together at home, took the expired one and the daughter did double check & left together for P88, and being compliant w NCL's spam email bombing to not show up any earlier than noon & figured they aren't going to fight for a late lunch once onboard, arriving between 1 to 2 PM, caught in that cruise terminal fiasco ... Weather isn't all that bad and no snow in forecast, just be prepared for showers & windy conditions, real-feel temp in the 30's and 20's overnight. Timberland waterproof walking boots ready 👌 @dexddd Sharon helped answered your Q on H access, I hope. As for the missing anchor, I will try to find out & report back. We've trimmed the speed down to 19.7 kts now but with my rough calculated nm distance to port & speed ...I say we are looking at a pre-dawn or sunrise arrival ... the cloth hangers, ceiling panels and noises behind the wall partitions are vibrating & shaking again with the steady "rattling" sound. Beginning to see smaller birds hovering just above the ocean water searching for food, must be close to land but no sighting of whales or dolphins (???) - got my binoculars ready to spot for marine life and land - not quite there yet. Just don't be surprised if we sail into the harbor at 4 or 5 AM Google Gemini (Bard) generated this AI image a while ago -
  14. Ha 😆 you are doing DWO tonight, unless you are beaming for a liquid diet, complimentary of course - should - for the special table - you might still be hungry afterward, given the "Cooking Lite" dinner sized servings in the MDR. Drop by Cagney's and if we aren't done by 8:30 PM - good chance you can join the ladies for French press coffee to go with dessert. As for missing Code Alpha, you weren't alone, our dancing niece crashed after another late night & never heard it. Since you are inside the Studio section, don't believe we can rush over to bang the doors, perhaps another CC'er in that area can do a wellness check to make sure you are safely evacuated if & when it isn't just a drill. If none of us hear anything about the reasons for the Prima to speed on the final stretch to Iceland and ignored maritime regulations & whales protection zones, you can ask the officers the reason for racing ahead. The Pearl was taking her sweet time getting to Reykjavik on Wednesday & only docked slightly earlier than their 2 PM arrival. Enjoy dinner & do share and tell us later.
