  1. Sea state has eased & much calmer, great for dinner at Le Bistro, almost mixed up w Cagney's reservation for this Saturday. Our table is ready & we were promptly seated, another party of 6 was sent to wait in the nearby Metropolitan Bar. *** Code Alpha over ship PA, cabin #15xxx Deck 15 ... Nice chandelier, oversized x 3 of them, by design 🤔 Space to add 3 extra indoor dining tables.
  2. Checking Marinetraffic, Pearl officially docked at 12:57 UTC time, 1 hour ahead of it's original schedule but later than ETA given on CruiseMapper.
  3. Other not so random photos - what a turnout for CruiseNext sales meeting in Syd Norman's Trivia at the Metropolitan Bar Informal Bridge & Mahjong area: 8 AM to 3 PM
  4. We are ... are you seeing things ? Maybe you saw something like this earlier, a sneak preview of what's up next 🤫
  5. See post #474 for latest update, pretty much unchanged - en route to Iceland, more or less the same as today, calmer sea state ahead but cloudy. Don't think anyone will much outdoor usage, unless you are prepared with rain gear & waterproof layers to sit -chilly- outside.
  6. It's free laundry time (Platinum - Diamond) and we always come prepared w hotel plastic laundry bag as inner liner or insert for the flimsy thin paper bag. Prima still using the petite & shrunk sized paper bag instead of the old, original sizes paper bag that can hold more 😤. Still managed to put in just under $110's worth, based on itemized counts/charges, into the bag - tightly rolled & slipped into corner space 😁. $34 if this is based on the regular laundry Special. Out it goes to room steward to send it down below to get it wash, dry & folded for returning to us.
  7. Capt “Out” Kevin’s 10 AM bridge update, strong (cross) wind at 40 kts from the east as we sail NE at 18 kts with Canada 469 nm to the west, 1,000 nm to Iceland. Rough seas with waves up to 5 m or 15 ft and conditions easing later in the afternoon. Meanwhile, cost to upgrade for 10 remaining days of basic unlimited WiFi internet has dropped again to $105 only or almost free using NR-OBC Starlink Speedtest on iPhone is slightly better this morning but equally slow as in really slow, but usable.
  8. Ocean Walk not officially closed but not a soul outside 😆😁 but loungers stacked up & secured against motion. @dexddd - this is for your convenience to sail & sustain ... or just to look at & ponder 🤗 The Local is just as quiet, too early at 9:30 & sleeping in 🤫 There's a yellow caution & large towels on the floor near the bar counter & walking path into/thru The Local ... (is there a leak somewhere ???) must be the infamous spot @graphicguy Dan still has flashback for 😬
  9. We are almost pulling away from between the weather systems with the overnight modest sea state, white caps and waves of 4 to 5 meters, and wind/rain showers It's 9 AM onboard, clock moved ahead 1 hour overnight, 6 AM in New York. Pearl is approaching Reykjavik, about 30 nm from the pier.
  10. Good morning, we went to The Local this morning, walked right in at 8:05 and got seated, no wait & still plenty of empty of tables. Maybe, folks still rocking & rolling and feeling the modest motion overnight.
  11. LOL 😸 we own 201 shares of NCLH purely for OBC over the last 2 decades with its ups & downs. 95% onboard has no clues what is CC and the ones on the other platform are just as clueless with the live reviews. I don't color my comments but do try to make it fun while going with the flow. Funny thing is that 4 of us got seated within 5 minutes of showing up in the smaller MDR tonight. Watch out, going to Cagney's tomorrow night with a reservation for 4. But, if my words can move the stock, wow - imagine Anyway, carry on and better leave those OBC alone for all the minority shareholders holding 100 shares each. Full disclosure: also own CCL stocks too but the next cruise coming up later this year is RCL.
  12. Prima's StarLink WiFi for guests use is slow, very slow ... Throttled even slower than our last Prima TA in Nov 2023 (last year) I don't know what else to say ... be thankful that Station Zebra at sea remains online - just not going to bother w any attempt to upload 🫢 Below is Nov 2023 onboard the Prima with same equipment & configuration, WiFi 6ax
  13. After dinner at The Commodore, it's time to check out the Penrose Atrium This was earlier in the mid afternoon Duo Rika live again - Familiar Strangers & Shane also onboard.
  14. By tomorrow morning, we'll know whether the Pearl is early for arrival after 8 or 9 AM instead of scheduled 2 PM Weather ahead for the ports, warmer than expected, odds of being on the wet side.
  15. Walk up to The Commodore Room at 6:30 PM, not a big crowd around the Belvedere Bar waiting or standing around, good sign. Hostess said it's full but wait should be less than 30 minutes. Show my card and gave her both cabin #, gave me a pager & said a short wait 🤫. Barely sat down around the corner and got buzzed. Seated by one of the big round window in the back - magics - plenty of help out front standing around, feel very different than the Hudson. Making a difference, maybe - 2 sold out shows tonight ( Donna Live #2 and #3 ) several hundreds in lines for the theater. Getting our food orders in, digitally.
  16. @Fogfog I own a battery powered shaver, no cords. When traveling, disposal ones work for me - done & lighter on the return trip. That outlet is okay for smartphone & iPad/phone charger with low amp requirements. Ships like the Viva & Prima have sufficient outlet to not be bothered with using it as an extra.
  17. Photos - just another typical BB midship balcony stateroom on the Prima. Outdoor coffee table relocated inside 👍 Low power shaver outlet
  18. @Fogfog Fire Zone 2 is FWD, would be near the OL or Galaxy Pavilion, elevators & stairs area. Let's hope & pray it's not a trauma or anything serious, life-threatening, etc that require a medevac ... still within coverage range by a typical USCG Sikorsky MH-60T Jayhawk for SAR, with a 800 miles range & aerial refueling, I believe.
  19. Code Alpha just called over PA, Deck 17, Zone 2 - Guest Landing ?? This is not a drill. Nearest land / port is St. John, Canada about 300 miles to our west as we continue on a 35 degree or NE heading at 16 kts. Pearl is showing an ETA of 9 AM iceland arrival tomorrow, 2nd of May ... several hours ahead of schedule.
  20. Confirmed - the housekeeping guide a/k/a cheatsheet proof. But, if you get a towel animal, that's a bonus 🫢 It's 15:30 or 3:30 PM - housekeeping is just about done. Maybe some loose ends and laundry run, someone to slip those Freestyle Daily for the next day - they are done for the day ? Woohoo - that's pretty efficient for doing 22 rooms in 7 to 8 hours; and, they get the next 15 to 18 hours off to do whatever below deck ?? Am I missing something here ?
  21. @The P We had to make another trip to walk to Guest Services as they flagged Susan's onboard account as paying cash and is restricted as a result, another corporate I.T. or server error. Heading over, walked past the gift shops and guess what, she didn't spotted shoes but taking an interest in Gucci ... triple points using NCL credit card.
