  1. Why is it you can find a great price for the cruise, but the dang airfare is more than double the cruise price? I am so wanting to book a Baltic cruise, but the airfare is outrageous. Almost making me considering not going. I know my days are so far out for airfare and I can't see them, but just a general idea now is killing me. Hoping if I book the cruise, the airfare will become reasonable at some point. Until then, 198 days till I'm back sailing!!

Have you just taken the plunge and booked not knowing what airfare will be by then?

  2. Thanks Iamthesea. I see the current promo so I am thinking I will book soon. I guess Europe/Baltics are different pricing wise than say other cruiselines that offer adjustments.

Just wish the deposit wasnt so big. LOL

  3. Thanks all. That's what I am wondering about, if there will be any promos coming up that I should wait for. I'm not worried about what cabin at all. I would sleep on a pool deck chair if need be. LOL

Guess I will just sit and wait and see what promos will show up later.

  4. I am really contemplating a Baltic cruise in 2016. I was wondering if I book now with no incentives or deals, does Celebrity give you price adjustments later and what about any deals that would come about later.

I just don't know if I want to book now or wait and keep checking for deals.

  5. I didnt even know this was going on, I just always check the website. I requested the price adjustment and also saw something about the obc. Sure enough, within a couple of hours I got the email saying it was dropped and got the obc! I'll take that!!

  6. I could not. My vacations are my only down time all year. I work and go to school full time with OT and only have certain weeks a year I am able to be on vacation. If I would stay home, I know I would not be relaxing and probably just going to work. So for my health, I need to have that down time.

  7. I love my cubes. I usually roll my clothes and place them in the cubes. I have a variety of shapes and sizes. I love how I can just put the whole cube in the dresser and not have to worry about my clothes being loose in the drawer and not finding things cuz I have rooted through so many times looking for something.

They definitely are great for organizing for sure. I have a certain one that I use for all the electronic cords etc... to keep together. It lays flat in the suitcase and then so convenient when placed in the dresser drawer.

  8. Here is my free travel organizer. Don't mind the white pieces of paper. I had to block out the name of the travel company as to not get in trouble on here.

I really love that everything zips and is secure - especially the Passport part. The outside zips too keeping it all together. And it's a small size as to fit easily in my carry on tote and doesn't weigh really anything. Not bulky, cumbersome, or too big.

Not bad for free! I highly recommend it if you can find one!

P.S. Yes that is an expired Victoria's Secret gift card. I use it for my in cabin safe :D

That is very similar to the Vera Bradley wristlet I always travel with. The passports fit perfectly in it.

As for organization... at home I use an accordion file. I print off important info and also any research info I have found. By the time we are ready to sail, I have saved everything electronically, and also have taken photos of the papers and have them on my phone. That way I can always look at them and not have to be connected to the internet. The hard copies stay home "in case".

When I land/cruised Europe for 3 weeks, I planned all excursions on my own and then I used large size envelopes for each day. I had the info written on the envelope and inside I had the correct amount of money for payments, tips, spending etc.... when I was done, I put the receipts in it from the day and if I had money left, I put that amount in the next days envelope. Worked quite well.

  9. My tablet. I always think I will use it for reading books, taking pictures and quickly get on the internet while in port. Nope, I always end up using my cell phone and I start to read a book, but then end up vegging out and staring at the beautiful ocean water.

  10. Omg, we have had a balcony and not sure I really want to get one again. Only time we were on it was when we first boarded and got into the cabin. Went out there to check it out and never returned.

We are never in the cabin but to sleep and shower and just don't go out there.

I would rather be on the top deck by the pool seeing the ocean and the over all view.

  11. Why I started? Was always curious and just wanted to try it. I love the ocean and thought it would be a great fit.

Sure enough, a cruise is the only time I totally slow down and relax. I am constantly busy throughout the year and a cruise is truly the only time I veg out and do nothing. Theres just something about the ocean and serenity of it all. Plus a little rocking at night, makes the best sleep there ever is for me!!

  12. For me when I am asked this question from friends, I tell them first they need to pick a location they want to go to. Then figure out how much they want/can spend. Then they check and see if anything fits that criteria. IF not, then go to budget first and have to accept any of the locations that they will be able to choose from.

  13. They generally keep it in the 72 degree range....you'll be ok!

    I can't even imagine.

I sure wouldn't be and I am not. I shiver 24/7 and being in 72* ac without a sweater on, I would be so miserable.

No matter what ship I am on, it is always cold for me. Especially for those that say they tend to be cold a lot.

  14. I am going to Disneyworld next week and I just custom made a ton of shirts for us all.

I just used tshirt transfer paper from the local craft store and used my home printer. They turned out fabulous. I have gotten a lot of compliments on them already.

I have a photo program I use on my computer to design the shirts. Really simple to do and a lot cheaper than custom ordering.

Some good sites are customink or cafepress or vistaprint

  15. It works, if you csn get it. :D

Sent from my SGH-T999L using Forums mobile app

    Definitely.

I have no problem getting it. I can usually max out the amount of OT for any given pay period. Plus, them still posting a ton more hours available.

Thats why it works for us and I take advantage of it.

  16. Just did a walking bar tour and Wet Wendys was first on the list. We too docked at Punta Longosta and had no problem what so ever walking to it. Very easy to get to. Like mentioned, walk down the main street (with the ship on the left) and follow till you see The Thirsty Cougar bar on the corner. (Another great place we stopped at and owned by the same people as Wet Wendys.). Then you can make a right and you will see the pedestrian only street. Take a left and keep walking down. WW is on the left. Another great bar on the way to WW is called Woodys. Great big drinks and great food and prices too. Music, outdoor seating etc....

If you walk down the main street all the way, you will take a right at the Fat Tuesdays. Then you will be right in the square.

  17.

Funny how we all see/call shoes differently.

I see your "water shoes" as terrain shoes, that can get wet.

I call these water shoes, for what you would wear in the ocean to not step on the coral, rocks etc...

    http://www.amazon.com/Starbay-Brand-Womens-Athletic-Streak/dp/B00CRFA6H8/ref=sr_1_6?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1400255020&sr=1-6&keywords=aqua+shoes

Yes, the flipper socks are definitely only for flippers/diving/snorkeling.

Back to the question, as we can see, it depends on what you are going to be doing. I personally never bring athletic/gym/tennis shoes for a beach cruise. Even if I am doing excursions. Just use sandals. Now for a European cruise etc... that has lots of walking and buildings to visit etc.... I will pack a pair of shoes that look nice, not necessarily typical "athletic" looking shoes.

  18. Just returned from a Carnival cruise and stumbled upon the "Frame of Fame" wall. That is a wall that has several pictures of people. If your photo is displayed there, you get it free. I happened to be passing by it, saw the people that ate dinner across from us on elegant night and wanted to let them know they could get their picture free that night. I looked down and there was a picture of me. lol Grabbed the crew member and showed her, she had me ring the bell and gave me my picture for free. So make sure to find that "Frame of Fame" every night. You have to get the picture that day it is displayed.

  19. Well it depends on what you consider necessary. For 5 day Caribbean cruise with very casual ports of call I would opt for an easy wardrobe of

    3 Shorts (black, knacki, navy)

1 pair of dressy pants or skinny jeans(black or white)

3 Sundresses (one that could be dressed up with some fun jewelry)

    4 tanks/tshirts

3 nicer mix and match shirts/blouses

    4 bras

6 panties (nylon/silk that washes in the sink)

2 bathing suits (if you wear bikini or two pieces then make sure they mix and match)

    1 sarong

3 Shoes (1 casual sandal/flip flop, 1 dressy sandal (wear with skinny jeans or dressy night, 1 athletic shoe)

    1 makeup bag

    1 jewelry roll

Wow, that is easy, but for me, wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more than I would ever pack.

So, you see, it really is up to the traveler. You just have to decide what your itinerary is going to be like and know that you still probably wont wear all that you packed.

I did 3 weeks in England in the fall in a carry on with gifts packed in there to take to friends that live there. I can do a beach vacation in a back pack. LOL

  20. Just wanted to share some info I found. We just returned from Cozumel, and we weren't planning on doing anything but shop and bar hop. I had really wanted to go to Wet Wendys for the Margaritas.

When we docked, we weren't at the pier we were the last time. So there went my plans - so I thought. We actually docked at the pier closer to town. Which was a good thing.

We crossed the street, and started walking down the main street. (With the water on the left side). Follow that and you will find all kinds of bars. Right across from the ship is Hooters & Senor Frog. But as you walk further down, you find smaller local bars. On one corner you can stop at The Thirsty Cougar.

You can turn right at the Thirsty Cougar and walk a block up to get to the pedestrian streets (plaza area). There you will see Woodys on the corner.

Great place, atmosphere and the prices and drinks are great! Outdoor seating, music etc... You can check out their website.

If you leave there and continue walking down the pedestrian street you will be in the plaza area. Go past that and you will see the Wet Wendys sign on the left.

Great place again and glad we made it there. Couldn't decide on which Margarita flavor to get. LOL Once we got our drinks, we couldn't taste the tequila so we asked for more. Lobo returned to our table, and kept pouring from the bottle into our drink. Never did charge us extra. Bought a tshirt too. Wendys has free wifi so we checked in at home and played on our phones. LOL

Here is a quick little map that might help a little. It is for the location to Woodys.

  21. YES! High School graduation was set back and for awhile, had no clue when it was going to take place. We don't have a cruise planned but instead, a bunch of us are going to Disneyworld. Had everything ready to book and for some reason, I kept waiting. Glad I did, since the dates were not known yet as to when school would end. Finally, the dates were posted, so I tried to book and all my planning was out the window. Had to start all over and figure out a new plan. So far so good. Booked and ready to go in a month!
