Carnival does not have a published schedule of comps, other than I think 1500 points gets you drinks on us while playing for the remainder of the cruise. The rest of their comps - free steakhouse dinner, free cruise offers, etc., are not given out at a set number of points.

I was told on my last cruise over New Years, free steakhouse dinners or spa etc is given for every 10K in points. Don't know how accurate it is but that is what host told me.

I was just on the Legend for New Years, and we received cash.

  3. Thank you for your review- excellent as always. I got on the Venezia, the day you got off, we were also on deck 7, I think 7235 and had Blessing as well and he was great! I actually really enjoyed most of the crew Joey, DJ Six, and casino staff were awesome. I liked the Venezia a lot more than I thought I would, wasn't a fan of Il Viaggio but everything else was awesome. You had much better weather than we did- I was surprised at how cool it was the 1st 2 sea days. I said to my sister we are in trouble because we are going on the Legend for New Years eve so probably will not even be able to go outside any sea days! looking forward to your overall thoughts on the Venezia.

So if I just add something to my ressie w/ AmEx I might get it?

When it is booked, the platinum cruise benefit must be added to the reservation. And I had to put the payment on my platinum card. When you get the confirmation it will show what the benefits are. I can see it on my cunard reservation in august.

it works out because I found another shirt that needed to be washed and I was like…I wonder if I can squeeze that shirt into that bag. Sure can. I just needed another piece of duck tape.

Isn't it amazing what you can stuff into the bag- I always laugh when I send 1 bag out and get 3 back. If they thought that by switching to paper would stop me from stuffing it, they thought wrong!

I wonder the same thing! Reading through all the things that they MAY be checking still does not constitute a reason for my friend to get some amazing offers while I get bad ones.

It seems like all other cruise lines are very cut and dry. (You get this many points you are at this level and will get these types of offers) May I ask if you prefer any of these other cruise lines when it comes to offers?

I agree- my nephew, who is 22 years old and just out of college and just got his 1st job gets offers every day. (the emails come to me, unfortunately) his last cruise in 2018, he gambled with money that I gave him and it was not much. I never thought I would want Carnival to be cut and dry like the others because I always got such great offers but maybe it would be better. And no I haven't sailed many other cruise lines in the past 5 years or so. I did Windstar last summer but no casino. I do get offers from RC but they are not great and I am not a fan of NCL at all .My next cruise is Cunard and it is same casino as Carnival, so we shall see. After that I might try NCL or Virgin.

Our first TA, well our only one so far, was Barcelona to NYC, east to west is definitely the way to go, gaining an hour of sleep a night for several nights in a row is surely better than losing an hour a night for several nights, enjoy. I too was concerned about the days at sea but then all of a sudden it was over.

I agree- I will be going on my 3rd soon. I have always sailed Europe to US. 25 hours a day instead of 23, yes please lol!

Carnival marketing and casino marketing are two different depts.  Unless you have opted out of receiving emails/offers, you should check your Carnival.com account for current offers.

Yes you are right they are 2 different things. I meant I am no longer receiving casino offers.

I contacted Players Club a few weeks ago when I was talking to my friend who barely gambles and found out her offers ($1000 OBC, free drinks everywhere, and free balcony rooms) were 100x better than my $100 OBC, free drinks in the casino, $100 pp interior rooms.  I spend hours in the casino and thousands of dollars while she isn't that interested and only joins me for maybe an hour each day and plays $300 per cruise tops.

Maybe it is time I start looking at other cruise lines.... It sounds like their programs are more straight forward and the offers may be better. (I am going to play in the casino either way, but seeing that some people get amazing offers while others get next to nothing with no rhyme or reason - or explanation - hasn't been sitting well with me.)

    Here was the response:

Thank you for reaching out to Global Casino Services Team.
Casino offers are sent solely at our discretion, based on criteria we do not disclose.

We appreciate your loyalty and look forward to welcoming you onboard in the future!

I received almost the exact same reply to an email that I had sent in- I have received wonderful offers for years. I took 2 elite cruises last year, when I got off the last in November received a free suite but now I do not have 1 offer? I sometimes wonder if Carnival knows what players club is doing. I have 3 cruises booked the rest of the year and None on Carnival, who I love and I just got to Diamond on the last cruise. Sad really.

Do you recall if crown royal was on that list?

LOL😂😂 I only use Concur when I absolutely have to. I leave all of the important stuff to the professionals. 😉

We loved Vista and we would go again if given the opportunity. ♥️🛳🛳♥️

I don't think concur is so bad. Although I don't really book on it- we can call or email to book our business travel, I do my expense reports on concur. What triggered me, was you doing ADP and having to track down an employee for their time! Last month when I was on the Horizon, I emailed 1 person twice and the 2nd email was do you not want to get paid??  I don't get people sometimes. Enjoying your review, you are so funny!

As my cruise check in time approaches, I just have a few questions. It’s been several years since our last cruise, and I just don’t remember the process.

What I do know is that I have a suite booked so I know check in is earlier for us. But I do think I’m going to stay up that night until the check in opens. It’s midnight EST correct?
Also, it’s our first cruise with kids. So what info will I need to have for them? We all have passports. Will I need those numbers for check in?
I’ll also input my credit card at that time too, correct?
I know I can skip through and choose the arrival time and then go back. So I plan to do that.
Any other tips? I’m trying to make this as painless a possible since I plan to stay up and do it.

I just checked in last week for my Horizon cruise next week- I stayed up until midnight. I choose my arrival time- saved it- (made sure it saved) and went back the next day to complete all the other information.
