Question. Reflection shows March 8 arrival time for 8 am. Is this ship time? As I know shore time well at least I think is one hour ahead of shore time.

Just need to know as wedding planner is scheduled to pick us up at 9am shore time. If 8am arrival is really 9am in St Thomas I need to rearrange things.

On hold with celebrity forever so thought I would ask here.

I was also able to obtain the exact same cabin for my Alaskan cruise 2 years ago! All I can say is you got a great cabin! Loved the back stairs down one deck to bar and to buffet! Enjoy!!!

Bob, I say you need to do what feels right for you.

Our room steward fixed us one up from a robe tie. It worked perfectly by using the round knob shown in photo then the other end on the slider door handle! They must be used to these requests, as all I said was I had forgotten my bungee cord for the door. Magically appeared the makeshift one that worked beautifully.

Hi everyone. I am sailing on the Norwegian Getaway on August 23. Just 2 days to go. I am so thrilled to be cruising again. I am a nice guy from NYC and sailing solo and gave myself this cruise as my own gift to celebrate my big 60th birthday. I am trying to send out info regarding the solo get togethers so we can all "find" each other. I am hoping there are lots of great solo women going on this cruise. After all, who wants to eat by themselves.

I have sailed solo on Celebrity twice, just in an ordinary inside cabin. I used to ask for a table for one in the MDR, but the tables were so close together I often ended up chatting to people next to me and made friends that way.

I didn't attend any singles events either, but I plan my evening around the entertainment in the ship's newsletter, which keeps me occupied, and then if it is a bit quiet I go to my favourite bar or the casino, so again you tend to meet like minded people there too.

When I sailed I'd never heard of CC or roll calls and still made friends, so don't worry too much if yours is quiet. I'm also happy with my own company, so if its just me I make the best of that too.

It already sounds like you are going with the right attitude to enjoy yourself. Hope you have a great time.:)

Thanks for a personal perspective on the cabin. Did quite a bit of research on CC and the wide world web prior to booking since I couldn't afford a balcony this trip! Got some perks tho to go with the trip which are always nice.

Well I have decided on my first solo cruise and have booked it! Going through the Panama Canal November 2015. I booked cabin 7003 the reviews for it looked great!

When you are on the ship and you look up your account on the TV it will show the OBC. If it shows OBCR, it is refundable. If it shows OBCN, then it is non refundable. Learned this on our most recent cruise in July.

Thank you to all who contribute to this board. I am here now and enjoying Beautiful Vancouver! Took one of the tips and purchased Burrowing Owl wine to take aboard ship. The employee at the package store said it was one of the best wines in his opinion! Looking forward to tasting it. Almost wish I could take a few bottles home with me!

For your larger bags were those transferred by the train or did you have to manage all of your luggage to Harwich?

Just checking in. We arrived yesterday in Vancouver. Took the train from the airport no problems. Do follow the instructions posted here earlier about how to get to the Pan Pacific.

 

Paid $40 to upgrade to a harbour room, and were checked in before 10 am.

 

We were able to watch the fireworks from the room. Canada Day at the port is a great spot. Breakfast was very nice.

 

I have been watching the web cans for the last few weeks and the Volendam pulls in right around 7:00. Not this time. She was already here at 6:45 am. So we missed her coming in. Oh well.

 

The Pan Pacific room is smaller than I was expecting, but still very nice and the bed is super comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Have a great trip! Can't wait until I am in that beautiful city as well!

Going on my first solo cruise, will be going to Belize, Roatan and Cozumel. Looking forward to having a balcony all to myself :-)

It's been a couple of years since I was last at Cin Cin's but I have always been very pleased with the food and service. When it first opened it was the hottest new restaurant in the city however a lot of restaurants have come (and many have gone) since then so it's pretty hard to stay in first place year after year. That said, I am certain that you will enjoy yourself there.

Thank you! I believe we shall try it then. Looks like a good menu and nice location. So looking forward to the time getting to spend in Vancouver prior to cruising through Alaska.

I did a search on this thread to see if there was any info on Cincin restaurant. Saw it mentioned but nothing really rating it as thumbs up ... Any ideas was thinking of heading there on Sunday night for drinks and dinner. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

I did receive a nice reply from Celebrity giving me phone numbers for different types of calls. Such as a number for online check in, a number to make reservations etc. I called them this morning regarding my online check in and the call was answered right after the usual recording about celebrity! The agent who answered my call did have to place me on hold to obtain the answer, but she did answer it satisfactorily. Thank you Celebrity.
