Thanks, but it's not worth it! Having worked for HAL for 7+ years, there is NO racial stereo typing going on! On the avg, there is crew from 35+ countries working on a ship incl. officers/managers and supervisors from Indonesia, the Philippines, Greece, Thailand, Sweden, South Africa, Jamaica, Hungary, Turkey, and several others. They hire by qualification, training/education and background. Not by race!
Well said John,

At present on the NA the dining room stewards are 80% from Indonesia, the rest from the Philippines and Thailand

I don’t know what they will do this year, but in previous years they had a costume contest and a party in the Crow’s Nest

If it was of your balcony and area, you did fine

Thank you for answering my question; I don't mind liquid soap for hand washing, but I prefer a bar of soap in the shower. Will try to get one from the cabin steward, or bring my own.
My husband has been bringing his own bar of soap for many years. HAL has discontinued single use items.

They are at the coffee stations and the stewards will get them for you

LoLoL....was just thinking that because Dad uses Splenda.
There is no need to bring your own . HAL stopped with single use items. Splenda is available at coffee stations or just ask your server for it.

Good Morning from Seattle. One last breakfast in the MDR . While I am sad to leave we will be a lot sadder 6 weeks from today.
As I am thinking of things I will try to point them out.
HAL no longer has sugar or substitute sugar in packets but rather all in containers for things like Equal it was this tiny shaker smaller than a salt shaker but the sugar container is larger . It looks modern but really is not very functional. There is a spout that the sugar it to flow onto but once the sugar container is half empty the sugar cannot flow into it. Plus because spout is wide it allows moisture in and the sugar gets lumpy. Those sugar dispensers were on our 2019 cruise . I’m really surprised they haven’t been replaced yet. They really are useless

Speaking of dining, have you met anyone who has done Rudi's Sel de Mer? We are thinking about it for our August 21 sailing. I'm not a big seafood person, but everyone else is in our group. Again, thank you for all your help.
I’ve done Sel de Mer a few times. I’m the seafood lover, my husband orders a steak. It’s a win-win for us both

I see the poor towel animals are still "blind". (No eyes) For some reason the eyeless animals make me sad. I don't really understand the reason behind not letting them have paper eyes. Oh well......
I love all the Tamarind pictures!
`Nancy
Apparently they were getting lost in the towels then clogging the washers

"Water, water everywhere and all the boards did shrink. Water, water everywhere and ne're a drop to drink."
I must say that I just don't understand all the talk about drinking water on board.
Let's be honest, our generation, when we were kids, drank out of garden hoses and worse when we were thirsty. 2/3 of the world has NO decent drinking water yet we complain about not having our favorite water in plastic bottles. Really?
The water from the taps in our staterooms on HAL ships is filtered and is every bit as pure as the overpriced stuff with fancy names you buy in plastic bottles.
Time to get real.
You are absolutely right. We always drink the tap water in our cabin.

Maybe pack some plastic throwaway cups for water? Have your steward deliver ice at evening turndown which is what I do to deal with the warm fridge issue.
NO, the whole point is NO PLASTIC on board. Everyone is trying to go green.

When I go to the restaurant pages on my Navigator each one says “Please see Guest Services for the current menu”. We don’t sail until 2022, would that be why they’re not showing?
I get exact the same

Have a wonderful cruise. If it’s not too much trouble would you be able to post who the Dining Room Manager is please.

Yes, if you’re in a quad then just tell the cabin steward you’d like the overhead bunk make up

I would think that would be to the discretion of Spain and not HAL, after all the cruise is ending in their country

Some places are asking to see certificates for first and second shots. I’m also in Ontario
