  1. The Giant Adirondack Chair and Views from the Area of the Cabanas (This is to the right after you enter the port):
  2. A View of the Plaza outside the shops: TIP: If you like to get your passport stamped in ports, that round building to the right behind this tree has the stamp.
  3. Coco Cana - Caribbean Quisine with Authentic Local Dishes: We did not eat here, but we were told it is very good. They have water and ship views for dining.
  4. Photo Op at the Amber Cove Sign: Seen on the way to the Amber Cove Sign: Beach next to the Port (exit gates and walk to the left). The bartender told us it is open to public - don't know if there is a fee. We did not explore this option, as the rain was coming.
  5. Sky Bar: When you enter the port, walk toward about 2 o'clock to find the stairs to the Sky Bar: Beautiful Views of the ships: Entrance to the Zipline (Behind the Sky Bar):
  6. Touring Amber Cove: This was our first visit to Amber Cove. We got off the ship quite early because a rain shower was moving in. We wanted to get the views and pictures before the rain. TIP: I will do my best to show where everything is, with yellow arrows on pictures to indicate the locations. Basically, when you enter the port, shopping, the Amber Cove Sign, and the main restaurant are to the left. The pool with water sports are to the right. The zipline is up the hill by the Sky Bar. Here is the map of Amber Cove: Entrance: TIP: It is a long pier walk, but they have bikes (pedicabs) that will give you a ride for a tip.
  7. ❤️ I recently received a new iPhone 15 Pro when we switched to T-Mobile. I am so impressed with the quality of the pictures. Most of them are raw footage with only the 'auto enhance' feature (which takes away some of the hazy look we often see in the Caribbean due to humidity).
  8. Views as we approach Amber Cove: TIP: For this port, find the 'secret decks' to see a full view of the approach to Amber Cove. Go all the way forward on deck 7, 9, or 11 past the cabins. There are doors (sometimes both sides, but go port/left side to be sure) that lead to the "secret decks". They are double doors - one with a porthole, then a full wooden door to keep wind contained a bit. You can get a beautiful forward view of Amber Cove without the glass obstruction from Serenity. NOTE: sometimes these are closed due to high winds, but they are typically open as you approach port since the ship cruises at a slower speed. Deck 9 forward: The Forward View from Deck 7: Getting Closer: Norwegian Epic, a ship and cruise that surprised us! We enjoyed that ship so much, despite the 'beastly hotel' look - it became a Beauty to us:
  9. Morning Greetings from all the Chair Hoggers aka towel animals: No room for DH in the Doghouse 😁 Red Frog Rum Bar: Even some Blanket Animals:
  10. Morning Views: Sunrise from our Balcony: Getting Closer: Pilot means we are very close!
  11. I don't know the answer to this, since we typically listened to Buck and Oz or Latin Beat. 😄 ABBA and Country Music are more my style. I know that must sound boring... However, my first car was a yellow 1984 VW Golf, so that should count for something, right? 😆 PS: Someone on our other group posted that the rock band was awesome.
  12. In case you did not know, I am not only addicted to cruising, but also to taking pictures… I airdropped my pictures from the iPhone to the MacBook for a total of 2,192 pictures taken on this cruise (That does not include the ones taken with my Nikon P900)! I will be sorting through the Amber Cove pics tonight to post tomorrow. I also have a “shipload of ship pics” 😂🛳️ Those will be coming later this week. Thanks for all the likes and love!❤️ Happy cruise dreams!
  13. FUN TIMES: Day 6 - La Romana Download PDF here: Day 6.pdf
  14. My View: End of day 6 - La Romana (What a Friendly Place with Beautiful People!)
  15. Evening Entertainment: Amor Cubano TIP: If you enjoy confetti or attend with children, sit on deck 4 for this show - they shoot confetti twice and streamers once during the last song. Or, if you just want a great view of the confetti and streamers, sit on deck 5. This was a very entertaining show, with good dancing. The singing was much better - I suspect some of it was pre-recorded. Thankfully, there were virtually no pitch issues. 😄 The band was excellent. The only negative was that some of the songs were very unfamiliar - it was still a good show to attend one time. The highlight was the laser light effects! The Streamers, as seen from deck 5:
  16. Dinner Menu: Day 6 - La Romana (We skipped out again - opting for the deli and buffet) The smoked poblano and corn soup was available in the buffet. It was very good.
  17. Views from the Balcony: A rain shower, A yacht named Diana's Dream, and A Ship Horn announcing our Sailaway from Beautiful, Friendly La Romana: IMG_7942.mov
  18. Fun things you get to see while in a Cove Balcony. Today, they tested the lifeboats... Time lapse video of lifting the lifeboat below. IMG_1067.mov
  19. Continuing Day 6 - La Romana... back on the ship: TIP: There is Gelato every day in the buffet during lunch. It is included - it took us a couple of days to discover it.
  20. Thank you! We are safe at home... I-95 was surprisingly lighter in traffic than expected, with only one 5-mintue slow down. 🙂
  21. Well, I did not get quite as caught up as I had planned. The ‘live’ part of this cruise review is coming to an end. I will finish out when we get home. My goal is to wrap it up completely by Wednesday, despite returning to the reality of my ‘day job’. 😄 Thanks for all the likes and for following along! We had a great cruise - at the end of the daily reports, I will give a summary of the good and the ‘not so good’ of our experience. Overall, it was a memorable family vacation and we continue with the cruise addiction…
  22. Hi @dlphn501 The app does show the open times for bars. Usually until about midnight, although Alchemy bar only says “4 PM until late”. I did not even find the fitness center until you asked 😂 I could not find any handouts about the cost of classes and nothing was listed in the app. The Brewery Tour is $30 per person.
  23. Port Views back on land: TIP: Get off the ship as early as you can. Even if there is a line, it goes very quickly. That way you can choose your lounger early, if that is your plan for the day. Take your pictures of the name of the port right away. Most people rush by to get to their excursions, so it is less busy right after the ‘all clear’ than when you return to the ship: The pool right after docking: Just to give you an idea of the prices of food in port.
