  1. On Eurodam in December 2021 with limited passenger capacity. However, no measures taken to space between tables.
  2. Agree. No matter the precautions taken, you will eventually be exposed to some COVID strain. Just be fully vaccinated and take what precautions you personally feel is necessary to minimize health impact if you get COVID. Otherwise, just live your life. Like the flu; various COVID strains, like flu strains, will be with us for a LONG time.
  3. We sailed on the Niew Amsterdam several years ago and were very disappointed with the Canaletto; nothing special nor worth the extra price. However, in December (2021) we sailed on the Eurodam and were very impressed with upgrades to the dining area and menu. As such, we returned for a 2nd time.
  4. On HAL website, under HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES / 2022 EUROPE VOYAGES / Prior to Travel, it states “All guests ages two and above will require a medically observed, negative viral COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) result taken within 3-days of embarkation…” So does this mean prior to embarking on Rotterdam or on flight departing from US, since we booked a pre-cruise hotel stay in Amsterdam with HAL? Also, just verifying, a rapid antigen test will suffice? Sorry to ask this question repetitively, but I’ve gotten different answers from separate HAL representatives. Guidance on previous HAL cruise and recent Viking cruise only allowed antigen with 24 hours.
  5. We just returned from a Viking river cruise (Grand European Tour). We got PCR test 72 hours prior to our departure flight, but Viking rep didn't even ask to see results when we arrived at pre-cruise excusion hotel in Prague. He simply gave up tubes for a PCR spit test the following morning. Upon arrival at longship in Budapest, Viking administered an antigen test before allowing us to go to our stateroom. Viking then required daily PCR spit test for the 1st week and then every other day during the 2nd week. Viking administered a antigen test the day before departure to meet US entry requirements; however, neither the airline or US Customs asked for test results. Four people tested COVID positive during cruise (all I believe were asymptomatic), resulting in 8 people (4 couples) being denied boarding or removed during cruise.
