  1. Last couple of cruises have been around 1200( expect this will be similar) They trimmed show count back two on ours, seems that is the new normal.
  2. Nina says Hi, we are both in the pub. It was a Baltic out of Copenhagen, we added a night at each end, giveaway prices in the UK, we did Getaway end Nov Athens-Rome also around 1200pax Loving these low capacity cruises the getaway TA back should be empty as well we have something else booked and US flights a bit pricey. The new Syd cast were good but preferred the last lot. Not all guest entertainment is getting big support Service level high we did O'Sheehan's breakfast a few times, min 3 people serving each occupied table and time to chat. Portland is a nice seaside town they push Salisbury but that can be done from Southampton. Cobh the train is just out side the cruise Terminal ~€7 return 25mins https://www.irishrail.ie/en-ie/rail-fares-and-tickets/fares-info/cork-cobh-midleton
  3. 1300 pax is good plenty of room to spread out and should be easy to get dinner reservations on the day. 1200 on getaway our last one great to have te space. Not sure why low numbers as these were well priced and free flights in the UK base price in March for this one was £635.
  4. UK still does track second+ infections with a couple of statistically predictive sources as well as test data looking at the latest Flu/covid tracking (pg 12 on the wk 21 report ) https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/national-flu-and-covid-19-surveillance-reports-2021-to-2022-season Also UK tracks self reporting long covid which is overlooked by many as you can get long term symptoms even after mild exposure. This is just one link https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/healthandsocialcare/conditionsanddiseases/articles/coronaviruscovid19latestinsights/infections on another point since I wrote the above yesterday Princess have messed up a few Southampton cruise disembarkation with people missing flights. next day can be wise choice Some of the LHR hotels have test facilities on site Boots and Lloyds pharmacies also do them . This is one example https://katalysthealth.uk/fit-to-fly/heathrow/ Could bring some video proctored tests with you. Crown Plaza is not a great location and needs taxi hopper to get to/from the terminals.
  5. We picked a perfect inside cabin deck 5 Getaway Got moved to rubbish cabin deck 12 Upgrade on paper to an IA. No notification but I got a hint on another roll call to check as they were shutting deck 5 check booking. In the end as cruise was running light, min bid on a balcony rather than try to get moved. Allocation was ok but could have been better, main thing bed configuration not next to window. Got moved once on ship. They found us the right configuration and location we wanted, bonus also had angle balcony. (Think someone else moved out as we got paper work) Bit of hassle not being able to unpack till moved cabin later on boarding day. Lack of notification is annoying will be checking cabin regularly on future trips.
  6. UK they have been cheap for a while they dropped prices early, when they moved Enchanted they were seriously cheap when they went on sale. The UK tends to get Easter and Xmas surge as they are 2 weeks school breaks this is an unusual 1/2 term which are just a week as they moved a holiday day and put an extra one in for the Queen. Emerald 12n UK on the 14th June was still selling under £1kpp with P+ this morning.
  7. English school holiday week and bargain prices have attracted a lot to princess. (Much cheaper than US for the same cruise) The no fly option has been very attractive to UK cruisers this year. Still good prices out there on princess UK site the price £10pppd rise on p+ has not kicked in on some cruises.
  8. A potential solution when service is slow order your next one as soon as you get one And order 2 at a time if really slow Its what we do on land now as covid messed up a lot of places.
  9. There a good Wetherspoons near the clock that keeps a good selection of ales at decent prices.
  10. There was a princess misprice on the UK site a few years back(2017) most never found it because it was 1 pax rate. it was around for a few weeks before it got closed off. When we added flights the price went to full rate Princess honoured the rate after call and proof of booking The low price was £1,000+grats for 21n in a balcony SOLO we grabbed S3/S4 suites not a lot more The trick with a misprice is book online(direct) and don't alert the cruise line unless you have to. IME they seem to be around the time any promo changes often there are prices adjustments as well and they get some wrong. online overnight around the change date and spot them before they notice in the offices. We got an Azamara one(2010) where they added a free flight package promo based on date window prices got adjusted up but they did not notice it included the transatlantic and forgot to adjust the price for a few days.
  11. If you drop testing you need to drop isolation/quarantine as well. Vaxed and boosted won't stop you getting the virus in your system and because the vaccines don't add extra immunity to the entry points it has a chance. Test positive you are isolated on the ship and still have issues with travel in some countries. That's the risk people many want to avoid not getting sick or dying. If they more contact tracing on the ship(easy with medallion) they would soon have an even bigger problem while test/isolate is in place You won't find numbers anywhere as they are keeping the big problem as secret as they can(all lines).
  12. we would go twin with that lump on the wall, if solo just push the bed under to make more space down the other side.
  13. ON all ships we try to avoid the 3/4 berth with Pullman beds that stick out, they get in the way, banged my head a few times before changing to twin
  14. The run down the M3 regularly has issues especially as you get past Winchester just back up for no apparent reason. There are other routes but we have started traveling day before to avoid the early start to be at the terminal by 11am, we live around 2hr on a good day but would leave before 8am to make sure.
  15. Princess UK. As said 15 July(and 17 June) 7n scandi's are music charters and you can't book through Princess They were always not available from the day the new Enchanted cruises came out took a while to find them as the company doing them did not release details immediately . Princess exposing the prices was an error, looks like they have fixed it now. Wonder if those are the prices they paid, the charter prices start at £599. There were a few other error/deals that you could book like Regal in the Med Insides have gone(21n P+ £1,500, still some balconies but over £2k. seems to be related to the updates for the Princess+/premium Did find a 2024 one 17n P+ £1,100 but the errors got fixed when you got through to book £1,800 (that's also been fixed now)
  16. The terminals we tend to use it would not be practical to have multiple lines the layouts are designed with row of desks split to short loyalty lines and everyone else in a single line(snaking round the space. While they are checking everyone's Passport/Vax/test easier to have one line Then there are EU/UK cruises where most passengers are having to pick up a medallion as well as the checks, last Princess(UK) the pick up point was in the middle of the desk line so every one was passing close to a lot more people than needed if they had put it after the checking area . Once Princess get to the stage that they are comfortable with the data uploaded and stop the vax/test checks it may be possible to peel those of and fast track to medallion pickup/ship.
  17. We do this run whenever we need to leave the car at the airport. The bus station to Premier inn is flat and tends to be very quiet with pedestrian as most enter the mall or go other places using different routes. When the bus arrives it can be a bit crazy as it unloads and people collect bags and disperse there can be people waiting for outgoing coaches cluttering up the small area. . google from the exit of bus station to door of PI Its 0 .3mile/500m walk on the flat there is a bike lane(not used much) which is pretty flat tarmac, the walkway adjacent is mostly paved once you cross over to the PI side of the road. For a taxi private hire(which you have to book), the big companies like radio taxis have loads of cars and can be there in a few min, should be around £4-£5 with tip (min charge is £3:20) they have an app. eg: https://radiotaxisonline.co.uk/fare-calculator/ Taxi you can flag down (Hackney carriage) are not always around, there is rank at the front of the Bus station office fares are a bit more https://www.southampton.gov.uk/media/03dd4axz/taxi_table_of_fares_april_2022.pdf For anyone reading and using the Travelodge(or star/Dolphin) walk option we use is through the mall using the lower John Lewis entrance(near the bus station) and lift up to L2 head for the Costa exit(google takes you up a hill by Asda)
  18. interesting...... The theatre was running full house on the 28 March cruise each time we checked, even the standing space at the back was too crowded to stay.
  19. Turn Bluetooth off on your device should not be needed. App works through the WiFi. it might have detected your medallion
