  1. There is Waterfront Wines & Spirits at 360 Furman Street, One Brooklyn Bridge Park which is 1.6 miles from the Brooklyn the cruise terminal. Good luck with Enchanted's wine supply. I truly hope you will come back and say they have stocked up on quality wines.
  2. Oh! Now I understand what you meant! Well, if I ever have this problem again, I will try listing out Suite, Haven, Yacht Club, etc. Thank you!
  3. I did. I said, we are in a Full Suite, where do we go? When we were sent to the general embarkation lounge I said to the man directing us, "We are in a suite, are you sure this is where we are supposed to be?" And similar remarks to all port personnel we encountered. I don't know how much clearer I could have been.
  4. I'm of a different mind on this one. Book only the people who you know for sure will be able to come. As far as the step daughter goes, is she an adult? If so, she probably would want her own cabin - an inside or single cabin depending on the ship. I would wait to find out if she will go on the cruise and then book her cabin. If she is booked into her parents cabin and cancels, the cruise line will cancel the whole cabin and have to rebook it for the parents at whatever the going price is which could be a lot more.
  5. 1. Of course I know those are port employees, but they have not been trained properly. 2. I've been around thousands of New Yorkers all my life - even lived in New York for several years - this was not normal nor acceptable New Yorker behavior. In my experience, this type of behavior happens when someone is given a job to do but doesn't know the intricacies of their job so she was acting like a drill sergeant as opposed to someone who was supposed to be hosting and organizing cruisers in the terminal. However, I didn't mind the rudeness so much as the fact that the port employees don't know where suite passengers are supposed to go prior to embarkation. We should have been sent to the lounge by the people who gave us our medallions, but, even when I pointed out that we were full suite passengers, we were not sent there. We should have been sent to the lounge by the people who sat us in the large embarkation waiting room, but they didn't send us there, even when I politely questioned them about it and pointed out that we are full suite guests. There were at least 5 touchpoints where different cruise terminal personnel could have directed us to the lounge. No one we encountered in the port that day seemed to know what to do with full suite guests and THAT is the problem. Princess needs to work with the port management to make sure that port employees are trained properly and actually know what they are supposed to do with suite passengers.
  6. I think the new procedure is so much better! I'm very grateful not to have to be in a crowded room with a ton of people and watching it on TV in my cabin is preferable in every way. I don't mind the quick check in with my muster station nor the fact that is was far less crowded on the elevators and stairs.
  7. If I were you, I would find the Roll Call for the cruise on Sky at least 2 cruises ahead of your cruise and ask them about the wine on their cruise, then you will be forewarned as to if you need to bring your own wine. Total Wine is a good place to buy wine in FLL. Maybe you should cancel the drinks package you bought and wait until closer to your cruise?
  8. It just occurred to me that we were on the MSC Seashore last May and they had all kinds of high quality wines and they change their white and red "house wine" each day or you can order any bottle you like. In fact we bought a half case of Opus One from them. That makes this situation all the more perplexing and disappointing.
  9. That is something I have been wondering about. But, if Princess cannot buy wine (probably due to Covid causing such a hefty financial loss to the cruise industry) they really should advise their passengers to bring their own and wave the corkage fee until things turn around. I think pretty much everyone on the planet understands that the cruise industry suffered greatly due to Covid. It's just a matter of being honest with their customers vs. making them angry and disappointed. As it is, my husband was so disappointed and frustrated about the situation that he doesn't really want to sail Princess again even though he thought our suite was great and enjoyed the food in the MDR. However, due to the missed ports, we got a lot of cruise credit, so I booked another cruise with them in 2 years. Perhaps by then things will be sorted, but if not, that will be our last Princess cruise.
  10. Interesting. That is where the tables to get the medallion were set up - in front of that area, but it was dark and closed off as far as I could tell and the people who gave us the medallions knew we were suite guests and sent us to the big room.
  11. Do they not know that Mondavi wines are highly rated and the most widely distributed wines in the world? Good grief, they need to get someone who understands wine distribution and knows how to judge wines to make the selections. What they had onboard was awful.
  12. Quite honestly if this is the way Princess intends to dumb down their wine program with the cheap wines that were mostly one brand, then we won't be cruising Princess any longer as my husband was very unhappy about the situation. Even several wines that were on the very, very limited room service list were not available so I had the lady on the room service phone go over what she did have in stock as I had selected two different wines they didn't have in stock. They literally had no good quality white wine and the only wine that was decent was Stag's Leaf Cabernet Sauvignon - not a good choice when you want a white wine, but at least it was a decent wine. I truly hope this is just a temporary problem.
  13. Where was this area of the terminal? Once through security we went to the table to get our medallions and after that, there was just a huge room in the terminal where we were directed to sit although I asked about a lounge for suite guests. I was looking all around for a separate area for suite guests, but saw nothing. We've cruised in suites on MSC, NCL and other lines and I know there is usually a place for suite guests just after security...but couldn't see one in the Brooklyn terminal.
  14. The employees told us it was a "logistics" issue and that when they left Europe there was wine sitting on the dock they could not onboard. They didn't explain why it could not be onboarded. But Princess either needs to solve this problem or be honest with guests about what wine is onboard and let us buy and bring onboard the wine we do want. The wine they did have was pretty awful.
  15. Thank you, I think I will notify them as I am concerned for the many other guests who should have been able to have lunch in the Club Class MDR but I guess were stuck sitting in the cruise terminal instead. That was not right at all. I would have been more than happy to solve the wine problem myself had I known about it in advance. As it was, my husband became increasingly unhappy about the situation as the week progressed which kind of spoiled the cruise.
  16. Perhaps there is some way to get tokens without buying the detergent and I didn't notice. I was just surprised at the cost. We were in a suite and had free laundry service through the ship's laundry. I really should have taken advantage of that instead.
  17. I agree and it is a form of false advertising. Their website states: "The Premier Beverage Package includes everything the Plus Beverage Package has and: Top shelf spirits, reserve wines by the glass and new high-end crafted cocktails by Mixologist Rob Floyd Selection of 75+ spirits, 40+ wines by the glass, 20+ high-end, crafted cocktails Premier wines by the glass including Cloudy Bay, Stag's Leap, Grgich Hills and Cattier Champagne Private Woodford Reserve Bourbon Selection created exclusively for Princess Personalized Jack Daniel's Whiskey Single Barrel Select 25% discount on wine bottles (including rare vintages) 25% discount on large bottles of water and cans of soda But NONE of the advertised wines were onboard or available as a glass of wine nor as a bottle. We would have purchased wine in port BUT due to Hurricane Fiona, we missed 3 of 5 ports. The first port, we didn't know about the lack of quality wine and the last port we visited, we went on a long excursion and didn't have time to take a taxi to a liquor store. We had the Premier Beverage Package as well.
  18. Running 1 load of wash on our recent Enchanted Princess Cruise was $7.50 to get the tokens and detergent. There didn't seem to be a way to just get the tokens if I had brought my own detergent either. However, I only needed to do one load, so no big deal.
  19. My husband and I were on the Enchanted Princess for the September 17, 2022 cruise and found that they literally have perhaps 10 bottles of wine onboard, none of which were very good. The staff said there was a logistics problem. Consequently there were none of the wines by the glass such as Grgich Hills or Cloudy Bay or Stag's leap which they promise with their Premier beverage package. We were willing to buy wine by the bottle, but they didn't have any better bottles on board either. I wish that Princess had notified us about this situation BEFORE the cruise as we spent the night in Brooklyn and could have bought a case of wines we like to bring onboard there. It would have also been appropriate for Princess to not charge the corkage fee under the circumstances. The wine that they had onboard was not very good, honestly and to a great extent spoiled the cruise experience for my husband. We had a lovely suite onboard and found the food in the MDR to be good to excellent, service in there was great. We enjoyed the ship, but the lack of quality wine was a major disappointment. All it would have taken is Princess notifying us of their logistics problem and we could have brought a case of wines we enjoy onboard. We are very easy going and just want to have wine we like on our cruise. Logistics problems happen and this is one with an easy solution until Princess can get it resolved - just notify the guests ahead of their cruise so they can bring their own wine. I also want to note the bizarre experience at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. We checked in and as far as we could tell, there was not a lounge for suite guests - not a problem. The port employees told us to sit in the terminal. As full suite guests I knew that we are supposed to have priority embarkation. After about 15 minutes of waiting, almost an hour past the beginning of embarkation I asked one of the port employees about this, explaining that we are suite guests and are supposed to have priority embarkation. She shouted at me that it was not about our status and that there was a massive line to get onboard so sit down and wait. Her reaction in shouting at me was very perplexing as I was not rude to her in any way. So we sat and waited around 40 minutes more. I noted many, many people being allowed to board, so I finally thought something isn't right, so I told another port employee that we were suite guests and supposed to have priority boarding. He allowed us to board. We found there was no line whatsoever for boarding, not even one guest ahead of us on the gangway, and we literally walked right onto the ship, got an elevator immediately and were in our suite within minutes. All the staterooms on our floor were ready for new guests - no cabin stewards in sight cleaning. We dropped our stuff off and went to the Club Class dining room, again getting an elevator immediately, where the waiter remarked to us that the waitstaff was wondering where all the suite guests were that day since the Club Class dining room would close in 15 minutes and hardly any suite guests had come there for lunch - perhaps 4 other tables were occupied when we were in there. Well, I'm pretty sure the majority of the suite guests were being forced to wait down in the cruise terminal for no reason whatsoever! I hope someone with Princess will get in touch with the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal and straighten out this situation for future Princess cruises departing from there. Although 3 ports had to be skipped due to the hurricane, we did enjoy this cruise. It is unfortunate that it was marred by the complete lack of wine that Princess advertises.
  20. On both of our Alaska cruises we were in very high seas the first night and second day as we were in open ocean after leaving Seattle in one case and Vancouver in the other. In both cases, passengers retired to their staterooms after visiting the seasickness table the doctor set up in the atrium. All shows were cancelled - too dangerous to perform and the second night, there was hardly anyone in the dining room and even crew was sparse - I'm sure many were sick, there were barf bags all over the ship to use in case of emergency. We did use Transderm Scops for the first 48 hours and did not need them after that nor on the way back to Vancouver or Seattle. It's all luck of the draw. The Transderm Scops make your mouth dry and vision blurry - kind of like being slightly drunk. Other than that, we didn't have other side effects. I do know that laying down helps with seasickness a great deal and to put an ice pack or a cold can of soda on the front of your neck to calm the feeling of wanting to vomit. If your cabin is low and more midship, it will get the least motion. Anyway, when you board the ship, ask your cabin steward or other ship personnel if there were rough seas coming back from Alaska on the previous cruise. IF they say the seas were rough, go ahead and take the Bonine or use the Scop just in case the trip up will be rough. Never use these medications together, btw. Bonnie wears off in the shortest time, whereas the scop is for 3 days.
  21. Here are the Port Canaveral Cruises this weekend: May 28 Disney Fantasy - 7 day May 28 RCCL Harmony of the Seas 7 day May 28 MSC Divina 7 or 11 day May 28 Carnival Mardi Gras 7 day
