Good Morning Hilo! We had significant rocking during our approach to Hilo. Glassware breaking and things falling. John came on at 0655 to tell us we would be leaving this port because of large swells. He asked us to remain in our cabins and stay seated. That’s a new one for us. Again we wait.

Whale watching was excellent! Maui Reef Adventures. This was a free excursion. We were on the water for 2 hours. There was a competition for the female. Males fighting for 1 female. Girls rule!

For the last 2 nights Sette Mari was transformed into an Asian/ Hawaiian Buffet. It was very well received. Last night guests were turned away. They had Sushi, sashimi, pot stickers, dumplings and a huge salad bar. There were 2 kinds of soup…coconut or Pho.

Today we went to a Cooking Demonstration with Guest Chef Paulette Mitchell. She told us all about herbs. She is very likable. I enjoyed her teaching methods. She prepared Basil Pesto Chicken Salad, Tabouli, Tapenade and Herb Roasted Vegetables. All the dishes were available in La Veranda for lunch. Delicious!
