  1. -Have been invited I'd guess 30 times, I've gone maybe 12 times

-No one has ever asked to see my card/invite

-There is usually someone there by the stairs, I'd imagine to check shoes and offer assistance for those who need to require it to get up the stairs

-One time there was no one there, perhaps a one-off emergency

    -There's no shade

    - @DaKahuna, thanks for the photo.  If you don't get one of the highlighted areas which can only hold 25-30 people if shoulder to shoulder, you won't be able to see much unless you're tall

Hello! I should ask my question here before starting a new thread.

Can I watch YouTube videos and play app games on the iPhone with the basic wifi package?

With 1 package 1 device. Does it means I can only use it on my iPhone? Can I logout and login with the MacBook?

Interestingly, you can connect your MacBook to the ship's wifi, go to settings, and share (google sharing wifi MacBook [Model]) the wifi as a hotspot

When I agreed my AI price last year the Grats were included. In 48 cruises I have never refused to pay gratuities but I feel really aggrieved that I’m supposed to find an extra $216 pp for something I thought I had already paid for. Celebrity set the price then. How can they change the rules after you’ve agreed the price.
On top of the itinerary being changed after final balance was paid, this is just  the last straw.

It's unfortunate, but they can cancel ports and charge fuel surcharges

So the last time that I connected to a compromised public Wi-Fi was at the LAX airport in January.  I did not figure out that it was compromised as I was jet lagged and had been traveling for over 24 hours straight.  Some of the signs were that it took me to a Southwest Airlines site that was http and not https.  I just used the site to get flight information.  It grabbed my booking number as first name,  last name,  and e-mail address and then I started receiving boatloads of spam in my inbox.

So I just prefer to avoid public Wi-Fi if at all possible. There are too many ways to get into a public Wi-Fi network.  Sometimes the default password will be set on the router.  Then you have rogue APs,  DNS spoofing, weak passwords that can be cracked in seconds, and a host of other techniques.

    Cellular is more secure.

You should have played the lottery too because you basically hit the jackpot by successfully connecting to LAX wifi (lol)

    Hello,

We are on the Beyond, September 1 sailing in the Retreat.  How can I contact somebody regarding for requesting a table/chairs and no booth in Luminae?  Both of us cannot sit in a booth and need a chair.  I read that our table and servers will be assigned to us, just hate to find out we got a booth/or half booth.  Any ideas who I can contact and make this request with?  Thank you!

Just to save you a potential headache, every time you check in, not just the first time, politely state your seating requirements

Does Celebrity take care of this for us?  I hear that other cruise lines get Visas for everyone automatically.

As you probably already assumed, no.  They typically send out visitor/visa requirements info about a month before the sail date.  X was also very late to re-instate the FLL luggage valet

Hamilton and St. George have not banned ships. Small ships from Oceania and other cruise lines still call there. I have been to both since Zenith. It is size that matters. The new ships RCI builds are likely going to be too large to dock at Hamilton and St George.

To piggyback off this, ports are wanted to limit overall capacity, if all the big cruise lines start sailing with smaller ships, they'll likely tighten the rules to further reduce capacity

Thanks.  I had a feeling but too much is going on right now to go looking......

Perhaps it's the lesser of all evils to book your next cruise to redeem the offer.  A much better option than doing what my friend did, skipped his $20 land haircut only to pay $60 on the ship...lol

They play the "Perfect Day" music with all arrivals in our experience.  Wasn't just for X.

    Do they use live singers?

To clarify, they had a live singer, we didn't hang out there so I can only recall them singing Margaritaville.  Since the OP asked about live music, if they played music through the speakers, I wouldn't have commented

I was trying to buy some OBC to take advantage of the current AMEX spend $500 and get a $100 statement credit but the first time I tried I got "The limit on OBC is $125" so I could not make a $500 purchase. Now Celebrity is promoting their own gift cards so can I just get one with my AMEX card and get the promo?  I must be getting old, this all getting confusing to me.....  TIA.

GCs are excluded and usually are from any credit card offers including AMEX, Chase or Cap1

In case anyone is wondering how to do this quickly, took me 30 seconds to log into AMEX, enter "celebrity" into the search offers field then press CTRL F  and enter "gift c"

  11. Other than when you first get off the tram at the Cul-de-sac, we didn't hear any live music anywhere.  Was there in late April on the RCI WoS, coincidently, we were in port for the first time that any X ship (Reflection) brought passengers to CoCo Cay.  I mention this because IDK if that music was to welcome X or is a routine thing

Is it 2 devices per person that can be logged on at the same time? On Edge right now and it is requiring me to switch login from one to the other before I have access. Don’t recall it being like that on last 3 cruises.

    Thanks.

Since you're on board, just go to the internet section to get it straightened out

  13. @LJJQ, you can get exactly what you're looking for IF you're willing to sail to the Galapagos Islands

My WAG (Wild A$$ Guess) is the new leadership will want to make a splash with a ship around the size of the stretched E-Class.  We have to remember the new leadership created many short Caribbean sailings, added CoCo Cay and Port Canaveral.  I personally don't think that's a bad thing but know many around here do

Any idea what this means? I'm currently Amethyst with 39,888 total points. Are they going to send special offers for these members?

I checked with two high rollers...Yes, they claim you'll be offered a free "annual cruise benefit" on select sailings for those with a high enough tier on the date listed.  For Amethyst, it's an inside room for two.  However, there are all sorts of reports of annual cruise denials with the BCC claiming it's based on play and a "benefit" doesn't mean it's an "entitlement".  Also, if you have multiple offers, as soon as you book one, don't be surprised if some or all of the other offers disappear so that may come into play (if you can book the annual cruise, other offers disappear)

Plan on calling when they open on August 21st, hope for the best, and if denied, call back to see if you get the same story

As a matter of fact, we did have a name of a comedian, Fred Klett. My husband saw him on YouTube videos, and found out he was going to be on our cruise!  Checked his website and he will be on the ship for the first week but no indication of day/time of his performance(s). Just emailed him and asked if he had the dates, otherwise we'll wait till boarding and check the app.

If you join a current Eclipse roll call or FB group and ask, you can get a rough idea of what to expect.  I will mention that, generally, you get one comedian one night, a magician another night and all the rest are musicals (broadway style, house band concert style, guest singers, etc)

You'll probably see all three of these shows

    Good morning from Curaçao!

    IMG_2544.thumb.jpeg.d9e9ea2e18849cb82534f154766391c9.jpeg

I’m chilling in the Irie Tours office - apparently I am the only one from the ship doing this one. We are at the Renaissance where the bus will pick me and a group up.

I realized I did not take food pics last night. Oops! Sorry about that. I had the prosciutto appetizer and the lamb shank but with mashed potatoes rather than couscous.

I’m sporting a new rashguard with SPF50 that I got in Bonaire because my back, in spite of sunscreening the heck out of it, it red from yesterday.

I had thought I’d go to the OVC for a quick breakfast, but the crew member at the gluten-free bread station stepped away and like 10 minutes later had still not returned. So Blu it was. And while I am not a big complainer, I do believe in letting them know things they can fix, so I used the QR code to just let them know that it would be a good idea to keep someone there if possible. Very politely but so they are aware. It’s great they have a gluten-free bread area but no good if it is not staffed.

Great blog!  Assuming you have time, consider sitting at the restaurant after the platoon bridge immediately to the left with outdoor seating.  Assuming it's still the same restaurant (had Ignana in the name), the food was surprisingly good, but if you have other plans you can still sit and order a drink or even just bottles of water.  Hopefully, while you're sitting there they move the bridge.  If you want the footage of it, consider propping your phone with something like a mug and use a time-lapse

Whether your PCP sees you in person, or responds to your phone call, you are asking them to do the same amount of work. They will need to pull up your chart, review your health history and your med list. Then they will have to consider what precautions you need to be aware of and address those with you.

For example: if you apply and scopalamine patch and then touch your eye or insert a contact without thoroughly washing your hands, you will probably get pupil dilation in that eye. Then you will wonder what in the heck is wrong with you and you will probably end up seeing the ship's doctor. (Don't ask me how I know).

I agree with everything you state, it comes down to how they want to communicate with you.  Some doctors will only do something with an office visit resulting in a copay and then billing your insurance.  When it comes to disclosing precautions, people may not even retain anything they're being told whether in person or by the phone, and will probably be giving a printout anyway.  I can message my doctor and he's done anything I've asked without an office visit often the same day.  On the other hand, I forget some people do enjoy physically going to their doctor and of course, that's an option for them

Edit, to summarize...If you have a doctor who makes you come into the office for any request and you do not want to, you can shop around and find doctors who don't always require an office visit

The Crown Lounge (Diamond Lounge name was dropped last year) is only restricted to D members in the evening during the CAS HH only if the numbers of D+ and Pinnacles are high for only that specific cruise. Never in the morning as the CL is always open. Coffee machine and light breakfast items is always self service. The CL could be closed if there is a maintenance issue. The CL is open even if not staffed.

Do you know what time it opens or if it's 24/7?  I was about to say we did get it during those evening hours but after thinking about it, I believe the couple in front of us held the door so neither of us scanned

Edit: so it's possible the sea passes weren't coded correctly; thanks to the reciprocity improvement, will be D+ next time

Weather forecasts down here in South Florida are predicting possible storms and rough seas hitting the Bahamas and South Florida this Sunday and Monday- not sure what we’re going to do yet…guess we’ll have to wait until Sunday to decide if we’ll want to board The Reflection that’s embarking on Monday. Don’t mind the rain squalls but rough seas are a problem for us…will be very disappointed if we can’t go- hoping for the forecast to change 🤞🏻

Some people are immune to all OTC seasickness meds so just call your doctor's office, tell them you are susceptible to seasickness, and ask if they can write a script WITHOUT an office visit.  If they really want an office visit to write a script for seasick meds, one should strongly consider changing doctors because they're doing it to bill your insurance

Probably if you went to the Diamond lounge it would be a zoo in the morning with people trying get their free cappuccino 😉😁

On the WoS we went on two different mornings and couldn't get in, I'm 95% sure they were physically closed but I suppose it could have been nearly empty but they were restricting Diamond members.  I have no idea why, never checked the hours in the app

I didn't know you could ask for fresh eggs - that's good to know. I like getting fresh made scrambled eggs but when I saw them use the instant egg stuff I didn't return.

Can do so in the buffet, MDR and Blu; I haven't had breakfast anywhere else yet can't imagine Luminae would say "no"...lol

I am not a found of undercooked or overcooked but I like my eggs over eassy, hard whites and runny yokes, but I like my omlettes fully cooked, including the center. Don't mind the cheese being melted but I want my eggs fully cooked.

Protip for everyone with X omelets, if it matters to you, ask for fresh/whole eggs because otherwise, they pour the egg mixture from a carton
