September 26th 12.00 noon- the line down to the cable car along a very narrow street was 1 hour 20 minutes. Those who opted to walk said the path was slippy and had donkey poo !! very dangerous in their opinion but didn't want to wait. OK we were on a cruise ship but believe me you could hardly move on Santorini . Too many ships in port. Even booked NCL shore excursions leave you to take the cable car back down

We used them Athens to Ermou hotel - no problems

Two 72 year olds so a hike won't be for us. So a taxi from the port to Oia will be a solution ...is it a fixed rate or haggle ?

Thanks everyone for your advice. There is a basic NCL tour ...that gives you a ticket for the cable car down . I will check if there are any other cruise ships in on the 1st October . Great suggestion to use the NCL tour then ditch it ...also may get us a quicker tender. We may be reasonably fit but I don't think two 72 year old will risk coming down the donkey path !!!

Hi, Any advice/suggestions for a do it yourself Santorini ? The ship's tours seem to involve music and eating ...when all we want to do is Santorini. Are the wait times at the cable car back to port long ? thanks

Can you test in Athens 48 hours before the sailing date then show the negative result at the port ?? We are sailing in September. thanks

Thanks, we will see if the pre cruise hotel can store our luggage for a few hours then take a taxi from there to the airport . I'll also see if NCL have any extended tours on the 2nd October.

We arrive back to Athens on October 2nd and our flight home is not until 22.45 .. allowing for transport to the airport , check in etc it's a very long day after leaving the ship. NCL offers a short tour then straight to the airport .. but still too soon for us. There must be other passengers with late flights ... any experience of this ? thanks

The Club balconies seem to be under the pool deck ..could this be a problem as far as noise is concerned ? ...thanks

Hi, looking at deck 10 ..the BA standard balcony looks to be a better midships position then the B4 family balcony . Is there a great overhang from the club balconies above ? thanks for any advice.

Please keep us up to date ... OK we don't cruise the 7 day Greek Islands till September . Hope testing hasn't changed by then ... we expect to need to test in Athens ... but who knows !!!!
