  1. When I did Alaska b2b on Radiance I was not required to get off the ship as a zero count was not required. It is only required if immigration is doing their inspection on shore in the terminal.  They will have a meeting for b2b passengers (usually held in The colony club on deck 6 aft ) and also send a letter to the stateroom explaining the process

  2. All 4 port side aft elevators travel to deck 14. It is the Radiance class where only the outside facing elevators go to deck 14 which is why there is the Separate button that is used if you are heading to those decks there is a step up to enter the Viking Crown Lounge area . As there is a platform in the middle where the dance floor is. There is a bypass to the right that goes around it and will take you to the diamond Lounge .

  3. Anthem did not have it swing out over the sides at sea .  They said that it takes longer to do that and want a shorter experience to move people thru faster. It will also be closed at sailaway when there is a bridge that they need to pass under and it opens after clearing the bridge. Sounds like they will have to wait for low tide as the bridge is 200 ft at high tide.  Norwegian BLISS also has to pass under at low tide to clear

  4. Millennium requires you to hand in passports when visiting Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy in Russia they placed a sticker on the back of your passport when you check in and then collect your passport after you complete Japanese outbound immigration if you are leaving Japan. The sticker has your name and Stateroom number on it and are stored by deck you have to collect your passport when going ashore in Russia after immigration looks at it and hand it back in when returning to the ship for immigration to clear you to depart then a few days later you collect your passport at guest services and if you are in a suite. Your butler will hand deliver them to you.  No problems at all

  5. Just off the Millennium and the only things heard in the cabin was the spoken parts of the muster drill and a farewell announcement from Captain Theo. In fact. The general emergency signal did not sound in the cabin but the abandon ship signal did sound no disembarkation announcements were heard in the cabin

  6. I only had independence ask for it back when I was b2b when the apass was malfunctioning  The old one stops working at the time they have b2b punch out for the zero count or when you meet to punch out on the old and punch in on the new which Indy did when in Southampton. The freestyle machine grace period on the other hand can be  ridiculously long .  I did a b2b on freedom in which the grace period was the length of the second leg. If that happened with a old seapass there would be a major issue

  7. It is relaxing to stay on board when the ship is in port especially one that you have been to many times . Like having no crowds at the Oceanview.  The only draw back is the reduction in service when the crew has a emergency drill.  Shops and casino are not available in port but some ports have a huge shopping area right beside the ship. ( in Japan shops and casino remain closed all day even after leaving port).

The best part is having the pool deck empty as there are less chances of chair hogs

  8. In Miami there is a sign saying no large bags permitted in the terminal all large bags must be given to the porters.  In Vancouver they even unload your bags from. The car for you only if you are on a 1 night cruise do they allow large bags to be carried on and I saw people putting TVs and toasters thru the scanners which are big enough to handle checked luggage. It is a  A nuisance to inspect a checked bag at the checkpoint . That is why they likely don’t allow large bags to be carried on

  9. One thing I found on Navigator in April is that when they run out of silver cards. They will give a blue card. And sabor is the least busy of the specialty restaurants and will be replaced with a seafood restaurant in the next dry dock.  If you want a seat at a bar before dinner get there early as they all seem to be full. The pub on the promenade seemed to be the least busy one except when a event takes place on the promenade look inside for seats as the promenade ones go fast

  10. Savour and taste have the same menu as the Manhattan room. The only  restaurant I did not go to was Ocean Blue  the pool deck was busy sometimes but did not feel overwhelming crowded like some other ships I been on.  In fact it did not feel crowded around the ship at all so was hard to notice that 4000 were on board.  For the elevators I found the forward ones to be worse and found it easier to use the aft ones. Destination dispatch would help as not all elevators in one bank  go to all decks and is annoying when the elevators stops at a deck and the person waiting gets in the one on the other side as each button has only 4 of 8 elevators tied to it

  11. This is the second Hurricane in the Mexican  riviera this month .  The October 5 sailing had to Cancel Mazatlan and go to Cabo 1 day early as Hurricane Sergio would have been in the way if we were in Cabo as originally Scheduled. The Captain announced the change when we arrived in to Peurto Vallarta

  12. Warnemuende Also has issues with dense fog. I was on regal in May and the ship was delayed arriving as the port was closed till 9 am. All the Berlin tours were cancelled as a result and departure was delayed by the same amount of time as the arrival delay to allow passengers to enjoy the same amount of time ashore
