Oh, I've been asking since we first booked.  On our previous AQSC cruise dinner seating was at assigned tables.  Was this not the case on your cruise?

We did not have assigned seating.  However, we did end up eating at the same table after the first night, we ended up at the same one each night.

We are hoping to do this cruise next year. Surely hope you will give us a running commentary—-or at least a review when you get back. Really looking forward to any info and insights you can offer.

So far we are having a great time.  We are lucky to be in a heat wave so we are nice and warm.  Make sure you take advantage of the Hop On Hop Off busses at each port.

Thanks. I followed your excellent instructions.

However, it still shows no Hop on, Hop off your for our cruise. All the included tours look like regular bus tours that would probably be premium under usual circumstances.

I think I have to withdraw my statement.

I didn't look far enough. I think you are absolutely correct about the hop on Hop off buses. Only included tour was the one I happened to land on and post.

Either way is great by me though. I just want to cruise again!!!

    Thanks for your information.

I'm repeating information I posted in an American Countess thread on May 24th - you have to print the page to get the complete list of excursions including the included ones:

You can find the excursions planned for your specific voyage on their website under YOUR VOYAGE, Book Shore Excursions. Under the heading PREMIUM SHORE EXCURSIONS, select BOOK TODAY. Then select which of their four ships you are sailing on and confirm that selection. You will then see a list of all of the cruises scheduled for that ship. Click on SEE DETAILS! for the specific date of your cruise.

If your cruise is more than 180 days in the future, you will see a set of descriptions marked INFO ONLY without times or prices. At approximately 180 days prior to the cruise, this will be replaced with the scheduled time and price information.

This listing only lists the premium excursions - not the included ones. To get a complete list of all planned excursions (both premium and included), you need to select PRINT PAGE at the upper left corner of the excursion list for your date. Wait a while and you will see a PDF file to download. This PDF file is more complete than the web listing, since it also shows the included excursions.

Thanks. I followed your excellent instructions.

AQSC has changed their shore excursions for your June cruises. When I looked at their shore excursions listings on May 9th, they were not starting their Hop-On Hop-Off excursions until July 5th - the June cruises had other included excursions instead. When I looked at their list today, they are listing Hop-On Hop-Off excursions for all cruises starting with June 14th. I'm very interested in reading your comments on how the excursions are working.

If you haven't downloaded their excursion listings for your cruise after they made this change, you may want to do that now and review your excursion plans.

    • Plus: You get the flexibility of the Hop-on Hop-Off excursions.
    • Minus: If you really want to do one of the substitute excursions they had listed previously, you may find it is now a premium excursion instead of an included one.

Where did you find that? I'm not finding Hop on/Hop off on our June 20 cruise.

  6. Almost correct.

It is after 2 cruise credits, not 20 cruises. You can pick up extra cruise credits if you paid for a full suite or if you are traveling solo and had to pay for two.

So this will be our 6th Princess cruise - we have never received any "loyalty" OBC. I wonder why?

  7. Don't forget the Loyalty OBC. It is based on cruise credits.

    20-30 credits = $25 OBC

    31.-40 credits = $50

    41-50 credits = $75

    51 or more = $100

In other words - after 20 Princess cruises, you start getting the loyalty OBC? The number of nights has nothing to do with it?

  8. I'm considering a port side E3 cabin on the new Deck 12 for the October 2016 transpacific cruise to Australia. Has anyone had any experience with these cabins during high seas? Because the deck is so high up on such a large ship I was wondering about movement up there. If you were on it during high seas, does the captain use stabilizers much? Also, any experiences with vibration?

We were in cabin 1880 on Deck 12 on the transpacific cruise from Australia in April. The cabins are wonderful! More storage than "regular" balcony rooms. We loved the room so much that we will be in the same room on the Pacific Coastal cruise before your transpacific cruise. Our room did not "rock" any more than other rooms. We had very high seas and I presume the stabilizers were out most of the time - but I don't really know. No vibration whatsoever.

  9. I've read that the York has "un-refurbished" rooms. What does that mean?

    Thanks,

    Arlene

Our friends stayed there 6 months ago in an "un-refurbished" room and said it was great. They are pretty fussy usually and they had no complaints - in fact they suggested we stay there and also other friends of theirs who will be there the week before we are. I guess it just means they have not been recently updated - but they are still clean. I was not going to book there because I was afraid of the "un-refurbished" term in the booking.

  10. Thanks for the information. I am adding it onto my word document and making sure I take it with us.

I'm thinking we will buy the one week pass for transportation and take advantage of the trains, ferries, etc. instead of doing "tours". Hopefully we will get to go to the Blue Mountains as I hear it is very pretty up there.

  11. The Sydney Boulevard is located between downtown Sydney and Kings Cross and not really "close"to anything. About 15 minute walk from the city centre, St Marys Cathedral, Australian Museum etc. Taxi to cruise terminal.

We decided to stay at The York. Thanks for the heads up on not being close to anything.

  12. I see good reviews (and prices are OK) for The York by Swiss-Belhotel and also for The Sydney Boulevard Hotel. Have any of you stayed at either one of these? I see they are not close to each other - but both have reviews saying it is "close" to everything.

    Comments? Ideas?

  13. You might do well to check with Steve at TripInsuranceStore.com

We looked into annual coverage, also because of several trips planned within a year (and likely to continue that indefinitely :) )

Your needs may be different from ours, but the bottom line is it didn't work for us.

For one thing, the limit was too low, although that was acceptable for lesser priced trips.

The deal breaker for us was that IF we "used up" the coverage, and had at least one trip still planned, then it would be TOO LATE to get new coverage that wouldn't exclude pre-existing conditions (at least, the policies we'd want) for any remaining trips.

We did start the annual MedJetAssist coverage, which we'll probably keep current as long as we are able to travel.

Whether there is an annual policy that works for you will depend upon what your insurance needs are.

    GeezerCouple

You are wise to consider a multi-trip policy, but there are limitations as compared to a comprehensive, single-trip policy.

    Many people here use insuremytrip.com

I would recommend checking them out. They have some commentary as to the pros and cons of such insurance, and they offer several policies.

I have found their customer service personnel to be very helpful.

Good luck and enjoy your trips!

Thank you - both of you for your info.

I am on my way to make some phone calls right now!
