Thanks for following VegasCrossfire. I would imagine that they will be like ours were' date=' opposite of each other. 21 days! I envy you! Are you doing a TA and then 7 day? Just curious.[/size']
Great review ..... thanks - now so looking forward to our cruise.
We are doing a 7 day Med cruise with a TA afterwards B2B in October. We love long cruises - so this will be wonderful.
It will be interesting to see the rooms set up the way you showed them. One room will have 2 people (ours) and the other one will have only 1 person. I hope we get the one where it will be easy to get past someone who is at the sink!:D

Loving your review and pictures. We will be onboard for 21 days in the fall, so each time I read about the Epic, I feel more excited!
We have 2 balcony rooms next to each other. I wonder if they will be like yours were?

Thanks everyone for all the answers!
Although we decided to book a "regular" cruise ship for 2014, I now have some great ideas for 2015.
Thanks!

I hope you do have a wonderful time. Thank you so much for coming back here to let us know the final resolution. Please come back to this thread to let us know about the next cruise - even if it is to link it to your review/comments on the cruise.
Have a wonderful time - and hopefully you won't be disappointed.

It is really a shame that they would not compensate you with cash rather than a credit. If that is truly all they will do - I agree that the 2 of you should use the credit and take a cruise alone - relax and enjoy!
I hope you let us know what you decide to to.

Barbados is one of our favorite islands to visit. We have spent many 1 week vacations there in the last 30 years!
St. Lawrence Gap is sure different than it used to be (I'm talking 30 years ago)....but certainly a place to visit for dinner/drinks.
If you are at all "adventurous", I would suggest renting a car (mini moke) for the day or several days and drive all over the island. We usually don't miss much on that island.
You might want to visit Harrison's Caves. There is also an out of the way "Flower Cave" (I think that was the name of it) that is interesting.
The people of Barbados are so friendly.
Have a great time!

We were on NCL's Star in October for those same ports on a Panama Canal cruise and it was never mentioned that unsealed water wasn't to be taken off the ship. On all of my cruises I've never heard of such a restriction.
Mary Kay.....
You beat me to that answer!

It's Ajanta Jewelers. But beware - you'll still end up spending a lot of money, because their stock is beautiful, even though worth it! Hard to resist if you like jewelry!
Thanks...I will put that info in my "cruise" file! :D

This is considered unethical, BTW. An appraiser should work by time (and yes, they can inflate the time they spend), or as a flat fee.
I just had some jewelry, purchased in St. Thomas, appraised by an independent appraiser. Yes, he does appraisals for insurers (the reason I hired him), and for jewelers, and as an expert witness in court, when there is a dispute about the value of a piece as there often is in estate valuations or insurance disputes. (He doesn't always testify for the insurer; sometimes he testifies for the plaintiff.) He doesn't work for any of them, and is paid by the client, not the insurance company. Google "independent diamond appraisers" or "independent jewelry appraisers" and you should be able to find them.
Now, I did not buy these pieces at DI, or at any place recommended by the cruise ship. I bought them at a small jeweler off the main street, recommended by friends. The pieces are beautiful, and I love them anyway. The jewelers treated us wonderfully, even merging two pieces to create a custom piece for me while I waited.
The upshot? We paid 33-50% less than the independent appraised value. The appraiser looked at the work, not just the stones, and said, "It takes a lot to impress me. I'm impressed."
My DH asked if I liked them more because of the appraisal? I said No, but it's nice to know I wasn't taken.
I don't know if it's against CC's rules to post the store's name. If not, and anyone wants to know it, I'll be happy to post it.
I would like to know the name of the store....please!

Oh my, I certainly hope the person will be OK.

.......
Again, if the amount was released to individuals I do not know it would not have mattered. The fact is that this has been brought up several times since we arrived home.
I think THIS is the REAL issue! Perhaps a friendly "talk" with the friend would help this problem. Let him know you really would prefer not to hear about it again or to hear your friends hear about it. Easy for me to say-I don't have to do it - but I really think HE is the problem....not NCL. My 2 cents....

We often hear people complaining about the food on the elevators, and guess what we usually do.
We start talking about how great the food is. That we are stuffed. Shuts them up in a hurry.
When I first read this, I thought people were complaining about the food served on the elevators....I had to read it a second time!
Once I realized what you were saying, I realized that is EXACTLY what we like to do. No matter what they are complaining about, we praise it! It usually does shut them up! I'm sure they complain about us after we get off the elevator, but oh well! :D

Personally, I wouldn't try it. Too much stress at the end of a nice cruise!
-
That's the first I have heard of that!
Always "experts" who have just learned from other "experts" who have never experienced what they are "experts" at!:D

One word of WARNING...........
Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT have your balcony door open when you open your cabin door. Do it once - you most likely will not do it twice!!:D
-
We usually go with the big box store and have had no problems.
-
There is absolutely NOTHING like hearing the sound of the ocean.
Enjoy your cruise and be prepared to book your next one! :D

I must be missing something.
If the errors are just spelling of parents names, I see no problem with either child boarding.

I use skyscanner.net
Thanks! I have been looking at fares through other discount sites that have worked for me before but this site just saved me over $100/person!
Now our flights to Barcelona are booked.:D

Look at all those people with the same cool cruise t shirts, said no one ever.
Not true at all. I have had people come up to me and ask if they could buy mine or if I brought extras when we have done some cool cruise critic matching shirts.

Hi- I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with a company called Viator for shore excursions. We will be on a Mediterranean cruise in June and were thinking of using them. ThanksWe have used them several times and they are very reliable. Judy
Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
Thanks so much for asking.....and thank you for answering. We have a Mediterranean cruise in October and I spent most of today looking at tours. I saw Viator (along with others) and wondered how they were. So many tour choices.....

Glad to hear it sounds like you will make your cruise.
Have a wonderful time!

I hope so!
Please let us know.
when do you get reimbursed for lost luggage?
in Cruise/Travel Insurance
Posted
On our last cruise we ended up losing 1 bag (out of 4). When we got home we put in a claim and had to send receipts for what we bought that we lost (including one piece of luggage). They sent a check to us about 3-4 weeks later. It actually had 2 parts to the claim because first of all they consider it "delayed". Then "lost".
Hopefully that answers your question.
