We did the Shoppers pharmacy-administered rapid antigen test in August.  The pharmacist does it and you wait for your results.  It was accepted by both the airline to fly to the US and it was accepted by Celebrity (I know that is not Royal, but likely they should be similar).  It was an: Abbott Panbio COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test.

Did the Shoppers pharmacist give you a hard copy?

We just received an email that a January 3 cruise is cancelled. If Canada doesn’t open up to cruises, what do you think would happen to our Iceland cruise? Cancel or rerouting?

If I can remember Canadian waters are closed to cruise ships until February 28, 2022.

It was really good.  Crappy weather on departure day, though, so we couldn't see any mountains!  (We had lovely weather for the drive to Jasper the day before.)  But the weather and scenery got better as we got closer to the coast.  Can't wait for our second trip next year!

BTW, in keeping with the theme of this thread, there is a similar show called Mighty Trains and they did a show on the Rocky Mountaineer.  It's part of Season 2.  It shows here in Canada on the Discovery channel. I just recorded the RM one yesterday so it is repeated.  I noticed that there is another episode on the Bergen and Flam railways which many cruisers are interested in.

AQ - I also watch Mighty Trains and have seen the Rocky M and Bergen and Flam.  Before Covid hit I was going to fly to Oslo and take the train to Bergen followed by a cruise.  Oh well.

Our situation is a bit complicated. We cruise out of Rome on Thursday Oct 14 at 5:00pm local time.

We are going to Rome a couple days early to do some touring leaving Toronto on Monday Oct 11 at 10:35pm - also Monday happens to be Thanksgiving in Canada.

If we go 72 hours back from the 5:00pm cruise depart time - that equals 11:00am on Monday Toronto time. Therefore, we have to book a PCR test on Thanksgiving Holiday Monday at some point after 11:00am.

The big question will be can we book a test on the Holiday Monday?

Also checking if my company Health Spending Account will pay for the $200 PCR tests.

You should be able to get a rapid PCR test at Shoppers and have the results in about 20 minutes for $40.

I'll also be flying to Rome next year for a cruise and someone on this forum mentioned that HAL would be providing the rapid PCR test prior to boarding.

Our group travel insurance is through Johnson. I called today (August 23) to verify coverage and the answer has changed since I phoned about 3 months ago.

"As long as the Canadian advisory is to avoid ALL cruise travel, Johnson will not cover us for health insurance for cruise travel."

But will Johnson cover us if a land vacation?

My brother booked a 14 Barcelona / Portugal relocation cruise next November.  I decided to join him on theLegend as this will be family event and I have never been to Spain and Portugal. Their will be the last 6 days at see in the North Atlantic in November. I have never cruised across the Atlantic and in November. How bad are we looking at the weather or should I not be worried.

    Thanks

I did a TA from Barcelona to Tampa in either October of November.  We had the calmest seas and temps were in the high seventies and low eighties.  We lucked out but you never know.  I'm doing another TA in November 2022.  Love those seas days.
