  1. Can't prove it either way. I agree the number of people on Cruise Critic is small compared to total number of cruisers. But I still think looking at a sub-group of the total, you can still get a feel for what is trending. After all, any poll will always be a considerable sub-group of the total. I am not a statistician so don't know how many people it would take to make a sample size that is sufficient to make conclusions. But I suspect observations made by the posters here on CC likely track pretty closely with overall reality. But unless someone from Celebrity wants to reveal inside secrets, I guess we will never know for sure.:)

Very true. Also, every cruise line has different policies. I have sailed on many and some call and offer pax 'upsells' when higher price cabins are available, and others do not. There is always a cruiser that has a wonder freebie story on this board. Love to read them, but never expect it to me.:D

  2. I don't believe have a greater chance of a scoring a better upgrade from a cruise booking than anyone else. These boards are not reflective of everyone that has booked on a cruise or a particular cruise. Actually, a very small # of the total px on a particular cruise post on cruise critic. It tends to throw off the view. I do choose to believe a computer program makes the decisions and the programming can be changed at any time for any cruise which makes for the confusing results people discuss here. Just my 2 cents.

  3. I don't get why you don't get why! Obviously it's because the number of remaining cabins is a strong indication of pricing changes, either for those waiting to book, or those hoping to upgrade to a higher cabin category should prices drop. Also, if you know all the available cabins in any category, you have a much wider selection from which to choose.

Actually that's true every time. I've booked a cruise that seemed wide open and prices never dropped but filled up towards the end of sale date. So that's why I don't get it. I stick to the philosophy that you book the cabin and price you are happy with and don't drive yourself nuts looking for a better deal.

  4. I wish I could hook up to this promotion, but our 2 cruises in Feb. arenow more than double what we paid, so we certainly aren't making any changes.

Now, for those that would be booking this promotion while on a 2 wk cruise, what more would they get for booking on the ship, that they couldn't get if booking directly on land.

There is an OBC incentive, $ based upon cabin category booked.

  5. Bottom line, it all depends if you have booked before the "All Inclusive 123" came out do you want to pay the prevailing rate to get the promotion? Some CC's were lucky and their fare stayed around the same and they were able to add the promotion with no additional charge or a very small one.

Mine was so far out (early 2016) that my pricing didn't change a bit - just got the perks added from the promo. Happy dance!!!;);)

  6. So being paranoid, I called X and they can't tell me anything as they are blocked from seeing anything because I booked with a TA, or so they say.

Ok, I'm over it. X transferred me to their resolution department and were able to tell me that indeed my booking does have the 123GoInclusive promo attached to it. So I'm going to stop thinking about it now. :D:D

  7. Do not worry, it may not ever show up, just make sure you have the paperwork (email, website pdf, etc) to show you had got it. We have a cruise in around 30 days, the bev package still doesn't show on the reservation page and yet our TA paperwork says we have it, and phone calls to both X and the TA have assured we have it.

Ok, thanks for replying. I am the worry wart type. If it can go wrong, it usually does for me. :D:D

  8. I'm starting to get concerned about my booking. I was told by my TA last week that my booking had been revised to include the 123goInclusive promo but there's nothing different on my reservation on X's website. Paranoid me wonders if it's actually been applied. Shouldn't I see at least the beverage package on my reservation page?

  9. Yes- went from a 2B to a C3 for $150 more pp. to capture the 123 AI. Still saved over $500 pp. versus Celebrity's current cabin price. Had some friends on the same sailing who wanted to upgrade as well, but the agency has no more CC cabins left in group space.

    Tony

What is special about staying with the group booking? If it was me, I'd cancel and rebook with another TA that could offer me a CC cabin and the promotion.

  10. Anyone know the answer to this before I bug my TA again. Booked a June 2015 2A veranda to Europe with 123 GO for drinks and OBC in June. I thought maybe we could get some fare reduction on the CC $750 offer but my TA called and said I would have lost the two 123 GO promos that are more valuable. Now I see the Concierge promo. If I log in to my CC the price of the Concierge is the same as the 2A I paid, but the room is higher if I don't log in. If I changed to a Concierge for the new promo, would I have to use the higher amount? I like Celebrity but find that their promotions are not always fairly distributed. You have to be a detective to figure out the loopholes!

If you log in as yourself, you are getting cheaper prices because a discount is being applied for whatever reason that applies - senior, previous cruiser-member of captains club, etc. If you ask to have the new promotion applied it look s like you will be ok based upon what you described. But I agree with previous poster, ask your TA. Nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say.....

  11. Just to be clear, you have to get repriced at current rates if you want the current "all-inclusive" promo, correct?

I guess if your cruise pricing has changed since booked....mine was still the same so no difference. Each person has to decide if rebooking at current rates make it worthwhile to get the promotion added. My cruise is in 2016 so pricing was still the same since I booked.

  12. I got really excited when I saw this! The wording makes it sound like the 3rd and 4th is free on all Caribbean cruises. However, it's actually only a few. Wouldn't you know it, but my cruise misses the mark by one week.

I used to use this trick, but have forgotten how on my PC. :(

On a regular keyboard and mouse with middle roll wheel, just hold down the [ctrl] button while rolling the ball on your mouse and it will enlarge what's on your screen. Rolling up enlarges, down makes it smaller, although who needs that.:D

On another subject, how long before I get to see the bev package on my booking and where do I see it?

  13. You can quickly check this online by doing a search for your sail date and cabin category (if category is still available). That will show you current price which you need to compare with your booking price to see if "rebooking" with current offer is cost-effective.

    Jane

Was able to get the 123goAll Inclusive added to my booking. I am so excited!!! Seems too good to be true, right? Anyway, now that I have the classic beverage package, is that for one person only or both persons booked on the reservation?

  14. To see if this promotion can be applied to my current 02/2016 Constellation booking. I sure hope I don't get a 'no' since so many have posted it was possible for them. It's a Caribbean cruise so it's not on the list of 'does not apply to' cruises. It would save me a bundle but I don't know if the promotion application would cause any negative financial impact. Stay tuned.....

  15. Celebrity shampoo and conditioner are dreadful. I buy my usual brand for use and then give ask room steward, waiter, etc. if they can use. It has never been refused, if the recipient does not use it they will share with others. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

If unopened, they probably put them back into general inventory so they are not wasted. I don't believe they are allowed to be using products from the cabins as it might be misunderstood as stealing.

  16. It's the only way you can guarantee your hair will turn out the way you like it. Some can make due with what is provided, bu I prefer to bring my own because I don't want out of control hair on my vacation.

  17. We've been in a Sky Suite a few times and the extra space is nice. We under-used our butler each time... but to some that's a nice plus too. Love Blu access and a new dining venue sounds good too.

All that said, for $2000 you could just stay in the Balcony or CC cabin and dine in the most expensive specialty restaurant twice a night and still be ahead...:D

We are currently booked in a C1 (CC) cabin so the $2k would be for a Sky Suite upgrade. You are right, we could eat in the specialty dining restaurant every night for less. Great point. DUH! :D
