It will be our first time in Japan in October. Flying into HND with a 2:35 pm arrival on a Monday. If we were to opt for a taxi ride to the Hyatt Regency Yokohama, do we find taxis outside the airport lined up just like here in the US? My guess is that a taxi is a spendy option. Just not sure we’ll have the energy to navigate public transportation, which I’ve never been on, after a 13 hour flight. can you expand on bus service? Thanks!

I know this doesn’t help OP but use your local library for printing needs. I work at a library and we have computers and a fantastic printer. You can even print from your phone!

How much is it to upgrade from Classic to Premium once onboard? Looks like it is $20 pp/pd pre-cruise. We might consider upgrading mid cruise if that is possible to do. Have never done that before so not sure if it really is an option. Thanks all!

Sorry for another beverage pkg question on these boards- I am confused. Typically we have the premium beverage pkg and this time we have the classic pkg-it’s been awhile since we’ve had this one. Due to our very port intensive itinerary, I don’t think we will upgrade to premium. Having said that, when I look at Celebrity’s beverage pkg page, there is no mention of water, sodas or Al Baccio coffees list in the ‘included’ drinks…only alcohol is listed. Does this pkg no longer include sodas, bottled water and Al Baccio coffees, such as an Americano or cappuccino? With all the cruise line cuts and changes thought I should ask the pros. Thanks so much!

Last May our boarding time was 11-11:30. Got got there a bit early and walked right through. We were the 2nd couple to board. I have not seen such a large boarding window since they started scheduling times.

Hi! We are arriving in Osanbashi Pier in Yokohama Japan via Millie on Sunday, 11/5 and will be heading to HND same day. When returning from some cruises, there are transfers or taxis waiting to take passengers to the airport. Does anyone know if that is the case in Yokohama or does anyone have a simple way to get from the port to HND? Thank you!

Times onboard are very different than before the shut down and I too feel the food isn’t as good. Thought it was just my changing tastebuds but maybe not. Our Millennium Japan itinerary is a very port intensive one and maybe we should reconsider reserving ahead this time. Hmmmm….what to do, what to do…

Hello! We have sailed Celebrity numerous times but always on S class ships and once on the Edge. We love our specialty restaurants and always purchase a dining pkg pre-cruise. I was wondering if anyone could share differences between the Tuscan and Le Petit on S class and M class. We love the Tuscan and the view and intimacy it provides on the S class but as far as I can tell, the Millennium atmosphere is totally different from the Solstice. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Are all tables very close together or is it possible to sit at a private table without someone 6 inches from your table? We love people but love to dine without the discomfort of someone so close to you that they may as well be at your table. Le Petit is likely the only other restaurant we would visit. I know it’s dark in there most of the time for the show and dining but are the table very close? Thank you in advance! I don’t want to reserve the pkg in advance if the dining experience will be the same as the crowded dining room.

Does anyone have suggestions for tour companies that offer port pick up in Japan? A few of our stops are- Mt Fuji, Kyoto, Kochi, Okinawa, Jeju, South Korea. I ask because it seems most want to pick up from a hotel and we prefer to not have to navigate that it at all possible. We are sailing on Celebrity Millennium RT Tokyo, on October 24 of this year, and we are looking for shore excursions to book that are not Celebrity offered. When visiting Aus/NZ we were able to reserve port pick up tours through Viator and really enjoyed ourselves. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you-

This topic got me thinking- do room stewards wear gloves when in our cabins and if yes, do they change them when going into a new cabin? I’m not blaming cabin stewards for contamination as they are hardworking, delightful individuals but it’s impossible to go from room to room while being 100% safe.

We have sailed on S class and Edge class and in October, we will board Millie- our fist M class ship. We are specialty dining cruisers (purchase dining pkg pre cruise) and I noticed Millie has Tuscan, Le Petite and Sushi on Five. Can anyone compare experiences in Tuscan or Le Petite with the S class ships? Images online present Tuscan as cramped looking and tables close together- which is the opposite reason we typically love Tuscan. We like the specialties due to less people, space and food. What is the water that is included with the Classic Pkg? Is it still the metal can, if I recall correctly, the bottle said 'Celebrity Cruises' on it (silver bottle and maybe it was blue lettering). I typically am not picky about water but the can I am speaking of above has a taste to it that is not pleasant to either me or my husband. Just thinking ahead to options... Thanks all!

We have the classic bev pkg on our upcoming sailing in Asia and we do not like the Celebrity water in the metal cans. The Evian water included in the Premium pkg is what we prefer but that pkg was not included in our cruise rate this time. Does anyone remember what the cost to purchase an Evian water is? Would we be able to purchase and pay the difference between the metal can and Evian? Does anyone know the cost difference? I’m trying to figure out if we should upgrade or not- it’s a 12 night cruise so it’s $$.

With all due respect to all humans, I am one myself…once humans and their egos, attitudes and lack of caring for others kicks in, this is what happens. It literally blows my mind to watch SO MANY people walk right past all hand washing stations and hand sanitizer. Total disregard for others and TBH, lack of caring for their own health. Hello! Can anyone provide an update on the cruises in Japan as it relates to the May 2023 loosening of restrictions? Are ships able to complete this itinerary even if some are ill onboard? I think I read (maybe was a rumor though) that if 10% (crew and passengers) were ill then ships would not be able to continue the itinerary. How does testing pre cruise work? Just wondering what is happening in real life for those that have sailed Japan recently. We are sailing in October. Thank you

Our RT Tokyo Celebrity sailing starts in October 2023 and I am wondering if anyone has updates on what’s currently happening regarding Covid testing, when flying US to HND and as it relates to Celebrity. Can anyone clarify please if there is still a restriction to ships sailing in Japan regarding the number of COVID cases onboard a ship? I had heard there was a 10% max crew and passenger number and if it was reached, the ship was not allowed to continue to visit Japan. Any real stories on this? I’m having challenges finding this info. Any updates on what’s really happening is appreciated-even though I know things can change by October. I am finding it so hard to continue to plan knowing there’s a chance we could be healthy at sea and would have to possibly stop our vacation since others are ill. Thank you so much!

Not sure why but I am a bit confused and hope someone can set me straight. I think people are saying that Japan doesn’t have a testing policy to fly US to Japan, regardless of vaccination status, but the cruise lines do. Is that correct? Is there random testing onboard when in Japan and/or does everyone have to test before getting off at a stop? Is masking required on celebrity ships? Sounds like there is a 10% Covid rule and for crew/passengers. If true and that number is reached, are you saying the ship just sits in the water until that number reduces or the cruise is over? If yes, has this actually happened? We are sailing on Celebrity Millie 10/24/23 and I’m nervous about going and possibly losing out on a vacay due to circumstances out of my control. Sounds like we could be covid free and still not see Japan if we are at 10% ship-wide. Since we still have time to cancel, I would love to hear some real life experiences.
