  1. The steak in Giovanni's was amazing- one of the best I have had on RCCL on any cruise. And it was far superior to the one in Chops or at Chef's Table on that cruise. We ran into some guys we met the second night of the cruise in Chops on the third night at Giovanni's ( we ate there night one also as we only do specialty when we cruise for dinner- just our preference), and they also hated Chops and loved the food at Giovanni's. I think the restaurant may be underrated. My daughter is a very picky eater and she loved it too. And Carolyn, our server, was exceptional.
  2. I was on the 4 night in August and reviewed it previously in the Ship Review section. I found the ship old and worn - we had major balcony issues. However, I agree that overall the staff were very gracious and helpful. Apparently some had just come over from Costa Cruise Line and were happy to be on RCCL. And the food in Giovanni's was some of the best we have had on any cruise.
  3. I am following your report as we are on Utopia next weekend. Please let us know how you got to the Port, ie Uber, rental, etc.
  4. I hope you have a wonderful trip. We had a Crown Loft on an early Oasis cruise and it was fabulous. I will be curious as to your review of Nachi as we were last there before Covid and it was not great but I did book it for an upcoming Serenade cruise, We did a private tour when in Roatan as we wanted to go to the Stone Castle Cameo Factory store that sells beautiful cameos as well as a beach and see the monkeys and sloths. You may want to check out the cameo store.
  5. Thank you. The one without insurance is Scootaround. What is odd is that when I tried to book online I could not put in the return date, which is a Monday. When I called they said I could return it on Monday. Still, I found this strange and will likely use SpecialNeeds.
  6. Many thanks. I looked at the two companies and Special Needs is less money. We have a Jr. Suite so I think we will be ok- just 2 of us.
  7. I need to rent a scooter for Utopia. Does anyone have a preference? I understand you pick it up in the terminal. Thanks.
  8. For my Sept. cruise the reservations opened about 6 weeks out.
  9. I joined my sailing's social media site and followed it closely. Someone posted when reservations had opened and I immediately went on RCCL site and booked my chosen time. All times were open for about a week.
  10. I am sailing on Utopia out of Canaveral. I need a car service from airport to a local hotel where we are at for 2 days, and then pick up from hotel to Port, and. then Port to airport. I prefer a private car due to luggage we will have and my mobility issues. Any suggestions appreciated,
  11. Before I get diverted to the Florida departures board, I wanted to ask for recommendations for a private car service from Orlando Airport to local hotel, from hotel to Port, and then Port to airport. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks
  12. I booked Icon next summer for adult daughter and myself and chose the Surfside suite knowing its downsides ( for us). But the Sky class perks were the deciding factor between that and a Jr. Suite for us.
  13. I agree with Leaveitalbehind. I fail to understand why this was not dealt with at Guest Services. Yes it can be aggravating waiting in that line. Still, we did Chef's Table last summer on Oasis ( which by the way was awful ) but they readily accommodated a couple who showed up with their teenage son who clearly did not have a reservation, and sat him at the end of the table.
  14. I was really surprised how many people did White night on Liberty as I saw half as many dress up for formal night. We never do, but did this time we did. It was fun.
  15. On the 4 night Liberty we just did many people dressed up for White night and Tropical Night. I was just curious as to what Utopia did, as apparently there is no Formal or Dress Your best night.
  16. I am booked on a a 3 night next month and 4 night in March. From what I can tell from the Cruise Compass' posted, there are no theme nights. Does anyone know if that is accurate?
  17. I was on this cruise also. We had an ocean view with a larger balcony. The room was in terrible shape and there were holes and large gashes in the floor of the balcony, so much that you had to be careful where you walked. The bathroom was old, There was a sulphur smell some nights but it passed. We only did specialty dining. Giovanni's was great ( kudos to Carolyn). Chops was awful. Chef's Table was fine. Most of the staff were fine. When my daughter lost a pouch in R Bar, Eugene found it and left it with Guest Services. That impressed me. We did the rum tasting in Boleros and I recommend that. As to the crowd, we though this crowd was possibly a lot of first timers. Regardless, some people just have no manners- one couple chose to change their infant at the pool in full view of all on a chair. Another woman paraded around the kids' pool breastfeeding her child ( I am old school- I see no need for that). The Crown lounge was very nice. The concierge helped straighten out a bunch of issues for me. The attendant Leroy was super helpful. We did the Key and I think it was worth it. The lunch was very good and the breakfast last day also very good. Overall I would never do this ship again. It was just too old and not well maintained.
  18. I read on another site reservations appeared to be open through Dec if you book on the website. I managed to book for my Sept cruise, though bookings are not open for March. ( I doubt I would do this twice, unless Sept. is amazing or they change the theme).
  19. I booked Odyssey for a Nov cruise for this year last yr on Anthem. I learned on the Facebook page for the cruise today some prices had dropped. I called RCCL and got about $140 off on my jr suite. I think if this had been after final payment it may have been different but not sure how.
  20. I will be first time Diamond next week so excuse the ignorance. Are the 4 drinks loaded on the cards each day or are vouchers needed for them? Do you have to tell the bartender to use the drink credit for it to be used? Thanks in advance.
  21. I am on the Liberty shortly- first time for that ship and also first time as a Diamond. Does anyone know the hours for the Lounge? is there a chance the hours could be restricted ( this is a Bermuda cruise). Do they really restrict access to only Diamond cruisers? Any info appreciated.
