  1. For $3.95 you can buy 20 at CVS and use it before you get sick.

Yes $3.95 for the pills from CVS. But what is the cost of airfare to the closest CVS as they are in New Zealand. Richard:eek:

You might want to look at Sea-legs tablets contain the active ingredient meclozine hydrochloride or meclizine hydrochloride. They sell Sea-legs in New Zealand. Richard

  2. If by "here" you mean this thread - please note that all of the posts, other than yours and the one before it, are from 2011.

Thanks, I did figure that one out. A bit slow today, but I did not party last night. I do think 5-7 is a better plan for everyone. Richard

  3. My sister is thinking about taking DH, DD and me on Eclipse in a few months. DH and I are Elite, but the only time we sailed X was before the CC program changes. My sister would not be Elite yet. Will she be allowed to accompany us to the Elite event? I not, is there a comparable event for suite guests as on Royal Caribbean? She's looking at booking a Celebrity suite for the 4 of us.

    Thanks for the help!

My understanding is if one of you are Elite then you all can go. Also being a suite should also get you in the event. You will get a invite to the events in your room the day of boarding.

Ok I have seen here that people are saying Evening Event is back to 4-6 pm. It has been 5-7pm for a number of years. Have they changed it back to 4-6pm? Richard

  4. Let's see.....MY definitions follow:

    - A tux is (usually) worn with a bow tie and has satin lapels and down the pants. Can have tails.

    - A dinner jacket is the tux jacket, but does not have tails. Can be of a different color than the pants.

(Tux and Dinner Jacket are really the same thing, but originated in different areas, thus the different names)

    - A suit has pants and a jacket that are made out of the same fabric, usually worn with a coordinating tie

    - A blazer/sports coat is just a coat - does not match the pants. May or may not be worn with a tie

Wonder what the fashion police would say if you showed up in a purple tux....would THAT be 'allowed'??? :p

One of these days I'm going to wear a green tux on a cruise. They really don't cost that much. It could be a lot of fun. Purple might not be that bad. The orange tux it has to be the best. I would love the looks I would get. A cruise is about having a good time. Richard

  5. If your dining in Select Dining you must prepay your gratuities. Gratuities will be paid at final payment. If your TA is paying your gratuities with OBC. It will be credited back to your credit card at the end of the cruise.

Your next cruise we are in Select Dining and Celebrity is paying the gratuities. We got a credit back to our credit card after final payment. Richard

  6. I have had a problem may times trying to make my Select reservations. I have only been able to make reservations myself once. I think it comes down to how or who bookings the cruise. I use a TA so I try each time myself. Then call my TA to make the reservations. TA calls and make the reservations and ties us all together so we get a table for 6 at about 6:30. Richard

  7. What you need to do is. The 2 of you go down to the Captains Club desk. Show them your card and ask to have your friends card changed to show your level. As you might know while walking in the event is not the time to handle this. The person at the door is only looking for level of Captains Club. Have their sign a sail card changed. They will make the new card right there at the Captains Club desk. I've only done this once and all went smooth. Richard

  8. I agree with you on most of the things you posted and we believe we are going to try the 10 or 11 day southern cruise , but is the aqua class a better choice if we want the spa or can we purchase spa seperate ? Is Blue worth doing instead of normal dining and is Reflection a major diff. than than other solstice class ship's ?

I would book the South American cruise. As to Aqua or not. We normally book Concierge. Sometime Aqua cost less than Concierge. Our next 3 cruises only 1 is in Aqua. It is more about the bottom line. Our next 3 cruises only 1 is in Aqua. Blu is not enough of a draw for us. Anyone can book spa treatments you don't have to be in Aquaclass. Blu breakfast is very nice. Blu for dinner is ok. The best thing about Blu is that you dine when you want. The tables of 2 are so close together, you might as well been at a table of 4 or 6. Check out some of the menus from Blu. See what you think. Richard

  9. I've booked hotel and transportation to and from hotels, airports and cruise terminals. It does help if you have a global phone. What I have done is email the concierge at the hotel I'm staying at and ask what company they use for transportation. Look them up online. The hotel may setup the transportation for you. When your picked up at the airport. Tell the drive about your pickup the next day. Hope this gives you insight and ideas of how to plan your transportation. Richard

  10. The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) requires that a muster drill must be conducted by the ship within 24 hours of departure, but many Cruise ships actually conduct the drill before the ship departs for the first time. Richard

  11. For the last 2 days I've been working on trying to find rooms on a Sept Azamara cruise. Emails with my TA trying to find 2 N1 rooms together. In the end we did find 2 rooms together but they were N2 and to far aft. If I could have looked online for room available. I could have moved on to a different cruise.

Today I went to Celebrity website. Looked at a Hawaii cruise. I could see rooms that were available. Emailed TA and 2 rooms side by side were on hold. It all took about 15 or 20 minutes.

Why does Azamara want to make seeing room availablity so difficult. Richard

  12. Strange that there is no explanation on the web site that the "gift" is for achieving another level.

I went through the other thread.

    Very confusing.

Welcome to Azamara. Many of us are confused. Richard

  13. For myself. I've never rented or bought a tux in my life. Never needed a tux and my 55 yesrs old. On our cruises I wear a black suit if in MDR. If I'm eating in Blu I wear jeans or pants of some sort. I've eaten at Oceanview Cafe in shorts on formal night. My feeling are if you want to wear a tux wear it. Richard

  14. Can someone who has actually done this comment on how easy it is to work out? I've seen reports that sound like you need special permission and need to arrange it in advance with the maitre d'. We'll be in AQ for our 10 day Reflection cruise in May --- we liked Blu last time but may want an occasional change of scenery.

We were book in Aqua, dining in Blu. On our last cruise we just did not like the menu in Blu on many nights. But we ate in Blu all but one night. We just went up to Select Dining and asked for a table of 4. We were seated right away. Our next cruise in Aqua we are planning to eat more in Select Dining. For us Blu never had Prime Rib on a 10 day cruise. They had it twice in MDR. Richard

  15. Does anyone know if Elite will no longer have a social hour? Will we just be issued tickets instead? I enjoyed the social aspect more so than the free drinks. In the little brochure it listed a social hour in the benefits table that broke down the different levels. I wonder if they plan to continue the social hour for elite and elite + combined and issue the tickets to alleviate the crowding issues in the sky lounge.

This got me thinking. Might Celebrity on cruises with large numbers of Elites. Give the Elites vouchers and open the Sky lounge for Elite Plus. I've only done 1 cruise with vouchers and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. We would get a table at the Oveanveiw Bar. Have our drinks wearing our shorts. Then go change for dinner and stop at the bar near Blu and get a glass of wine with our voucher for dinner. Richard
