Love your pictures. Beautiful area! Did you buy the Vermont Seasoning while there? My Mom always bought spices, jams, etc. from the many places she visited. Years ago, Mom brought back a Vermont Seasoning spice for each of my sisters and sisters-in-law. What a great seasoning! It goes in all of my salads and soups, etc. All of my daughters and nieces all use it in their recipes, also. I just ordered another six for myself, my 3 daughters, another one for my Condo, and one for my girlfriend. It's called Vermont All Purpose Country Seasoning. It's by Seventh Generation of Descendants of Early Vermont Settlers

They were ravenously hungry..so much so that they were practically climbing on each other to get to the food! I looked it up (thank you, google) and it said that when it gets hot out, the Koi get more active and need more food. As the weather gets cooler (in the Fall here) they are fed less and less, preparing them for Winter when they hibernate. We close down the waterfall and filter once they've stopped eating in the Fall, and have what we call a "bubbler"" that keeps oxygen in the water and a small ring that produces just enough heat that keeps a small opening in the iced pond.

Another scorcher out there today!!!! It is so hot and humid. I did eat my breakfast outside on the back deck that was shaded, but I wound up coming back inside right after and got into the AC. I'm feeding my Koi 3 times a day instead of the 2 I always do. They are voraciously hungry and get very active in this heat.

Bonnie, you write so well about your memories of growing up in Manhattan; you have great recall of movies, etc. Jim and I had finally finished writing our stories for Storyworth, which our daughters had given us for Christmas last year, so that our children and grandchildren could read about our experiences growing up, learning about our relationships with our parents, our siblings, our friends, our many trips we've done with friends, etc. I bet your daughter Jennifer, as well as your grandchildren, would love to learn more about their Mom/Grandmother, and Dad/Grandfather.

When I worked at Moore-McCormack Lines at 2 Broadway, our cruise ships were the SS Argentina and the SS Brazil. I was 17 when I first began working there right after Graduation, and at that time, no one my age went on cruises with their friends. My friends and I would go down to the Shore on our weekends. We did go to a Bon Voyage party on the ship for one or two of our single co-workers, who were in their 30's.🤨
