  1. Even without these Grand Journeys I don't think I have ever boarded a ship when there have not been people who were doing a back to back from previous cruise, my last B2B there were 50+ of us staying on for the next one (these were separate cruises not sold as a longer one)

The World Cruise had many people that just joined for part of the journey (there were originally 10 segments available to book indivdually)...don't think it is an issue

I would expect the passenger numbers for the full 44 days to be far less than those booking individual segments

    Confused!

My first Azamara cruise.... you mean you have to book all your MDR times when you get on board? Or is everyone on this board just talking about Specialty Dining? And doesn't most of the Specialty Dinng have an up-charge?

    e

no for Discoveries (MDR) no booking, just turn up when you like

this post is about Speciality ... suite passengers can eat there every evening with no extra cost (but still need to book), others do pay a supplement.

  3. there are two levels of wifi - the standard (which might be ok for checking email but possibly not for teams calls (may depend on how many others are accessing at same time). Your free minutes/discount will be on the standard.

then there is the premium which is an additional $8.95 per day. I usually start with the standard but find I get frustrated and need the premium for working....and still use 4G when in port instead.

  4. just tried mine and it seems fine. Logged in then selected Upcoming Cruises and it shows the cruise then can 'manage reservation'

How far are you getting? there is some text that says 'If you are are unable to view your upcoming cruises, please click Request Support for assistance."

    Hi All,

We booked our first Azamara cruise yesterday leaving on July 1st 2024, my question is regarding e/docs & check in where do I find or get the info from? Moving over from celebrity we are used to the online system but just wondering if Azamara are similar as I don’t see anything online…

    Thanks

    Tony

Check-in very simple - there is info on the website https://www.azamara.com/ca/booked-guests/before-you-board/online-checkin

I was not aware that there were 2 levels of internet available.  This could explain why it worked brilliantly on the Onward my first time (streaming movies in my cabin); and why it was worse than ever on the Onward 8 months later.  I didn't see the options on the website for this.  What are the prices?  Can you get loyalty discount on the high speed starlink option too?

I was also on Onward when Starlink was introduced and believe they opened it right up to test full functionality then subsequently limited the 'standard' and added the option to get workable speeds.

Be aware though if you purchase the upgrade they add on a benefit for phone calls that appears on your OBC screen in the cabin. Caught a few people out that spent this credit elsewhere then found it was only good for phone calls so ended up paying $ for their purchases.

  7. I use Cruiseplum (not a travel agent) to search 'Solo Supplement Deals' filtered by Azamara  - can sort by supplement and then check the prices on the Azamara website

Again, if you look at the list I have posted from Azamara webpage you see the solo supplements for the next couple of months and no where to find the supplements you are mentioning.

but if you run through a booking for 2 people and a booking for 1 person and compare you may find it is not 150%

eg first on list (UK site, no quarterly discount etc)

    double occupancy

    05 £5,368.80

    V2 £7,306.12

    solo occupancy

    05 £2,667.41

    V2 £3,635.57

can get 2 solo cabins for less than 1 double occupancy

suspect the website list is out of date...may have been 150% before but not now

The few cruises which offer a solo discount are listed only until September 2024 and the solo supplements are 150% and 175%. So I guess that Azamara is becoming less solo friendly. The solo supplements of 125% are no where to find. What a pity.

There are a number of cruises (13) with 0% supplement in the next couple of months. Late booking has been the best time for reduced single supplements for some time.

there are even a limited few where the solo price is less than half the double price - could get 2 solo cabins for less than a double.

  10. currently on Quest doing B2B (on second leg) At our B2B meeting it was pointed out there were differences for those on a single booking and those on separate bookings and two different letters had been produced

As someone that was on two separate bookings I was required to get new card, check out and in again and spend remaining OBC before before end of first leg....those on a single booking were not (and they already had their 'end date' reflected on their existing card)

  11. don't think it is anything to do with using OBC - which you need to phone to use anyway.

It has been the case in the past that the loyalty discount is given when you purchase onboard but not when in advance...not sure if this has changed

  12. 2024 cruises all show Venice-Fusina or Venice-Chioggia. I read the 2025 cruises 'Venice' as 'not sure which port at this point but it will be in the vacinity' 🙂

Cruisemapper currently shows Azamara using Marghera (random search for May 2025)

  13. Just got an email through for trip on Quest next month

Sip and Savor Every Moment at Sea

    Ultimate Beverage Package

    $26.95 USD per person/per day

Expand your premium options even further with top-shelf spirits, wines by the glass, and bottled water. Special savings for Azamara Circle loyalty members.

it implies (to me) that I can book in advance of the trip at that price less the Circle loyalty discount

Still trying to work out which is best value as 17 night cruise so was tempted by Experience More package (I usually take Ultimate Beverage plus upgraded wi-fi and there appears to be confusion over whether the wi-fi Plus in the package is the standard or faster.)

At $49.95 I would not upgrade drinks...usually do it for ease and use OBC but could probably pay as I go for less (even at 'old' price)

  14. looks like some posts were deleted so #653 is now #647.

I don't know about the discount. The only one they advertise is getting a discount when booking excursions onboard for a future cruise. they offer 10% discount if you book 3 or more. I have previously been given the tours list for another trip I was booked on.

I just saw the post above...95.00 pp.  Are these all USD or do they use EU on board if you book on board.

everything onboard in in USD....you may see any OBC in your local currency online before you board but it will show as USD when on the ship

Yes will definitely want single malt.  So since its not covered on the Premium package, can we upgrade to the Ultimate for a reasonable cost?  Still not sure how this works re the "slight upcharge".  Any one have experience with this?

    image.thumb.png.2e4c31bc790d78bd2494405cf730b0db.png

It is now $8 per day to upgrade from Premium to Ultimate

a couple of points - unlike some other lines you do not have to upgrade everyone in the cabin (assuming the other person does not want/need Ultimate)

The upgrade is for the duration of the cruise but you can upgrade at any point for the remainder. eg upgrade on day 1 of 10 day cruise and you will be charged 10 x $8...upgrade on day 3 and you will be charged 8 x $8

  17. not been possible on my last cruises, we asked on three as had late flights, ended up booking hotel day room.  A couple of fellow passengers did manage it on Journey in Lisbon in November 2022 (paid to stay on till noon) not sure if that was in anyway connected to there being a port pilot strike so ship was going to be in port an additional 24+ hours

I thought I read on the forum that a July 2024 cruise on the quest was canceled due to dry dock. I’m not good at using the site and cannot get back easily to that post. I am hoping that someone will join in to say their sailing on the same azamara quest departure, September 11, 2024.

the roll call for July 26th 2024 does show that the cruise has been cancelled for drydock. (cruise still shows on website with pricing unavailable) With 4 other cruises before yours I think it unlikely that drydock will affect yours

We did notice that all the cruises after ours until December 3, 2024 are now unbookable/unavailable, so I'm wondering if Azamara will drop the bad news after December 25... 😞

the Journey cruises that are online and not bookable are from September 21st to 3rd December. Cruises prior to September 21st (which was an Israel cruise) are all still bookable
