  1. lift and shift stopped some time ago I believe

there was Cruise with Confidence which allowed you to cancel for FCC but it ended at the end of 2022 after being extended many times (was book by end August 2022 for travel to end Dec 2022)

  2. Currently (until 15th May) boarding groups are by status and deck numbers. When online check-in reopens (due to be 15th May) and if they follow the previous process, you will select your boarding time when you check in...earliest previously had been 2pm but the current ones (without online check-in) appear to be starting suites and high status from 1.30pm

You are requested/encouraged to stick to your given/selected times to avoid disruption at the terminal

which by my calculations, would be worth it on this cruise

have you been able to work out what the rack rate is per night?

I didn't use my 4 free nights as everything I looked at was cheaper paying for all nights plus gave OBC which you don't get with the free nights unless you book onboard

Used my 6 free nights when I got them on a 7 night cruise that I booked onboard but it still took some to-ing and fro-ing to get a price

Will call Azamara if still a problem in a few days. I hope your cruise check I  goes as well as can be expected!

they are only dealing with those with imminent departures, if your cruise is not for 11 months I would check back in a month or so once (if) they have completed the migration. There are many people travelling in the next couple of weeks that may need more immediate assistance.

Thanks for your help!! I figured it might not be able to be accessed right now with the website update (that seems to be taking longer than anticipated). We fly out tomorrow. Hopefully we can get it done before we leave!

There is no issues...I had one trip where upgrade cleared when already away so no bag tags or pass printed with correct cabin number. I had one trip when I left everything on the kitchen table when I left so turned up with a photo of boarding pass from website on phone and all was simple at the pier

  6. I would just do it on the ship...can be done at any of the bars. (not aware of any discount for booking in advance)

On my previous cruise someone had attempted to purchase in advance and had lots of issues with it being recognised and took two days of visiting guest relations for it to be eventually sorted out

My wife and I are currently on the Onward voyage from Lima, Peru to Miami that began on February 12. I have to say that the internet speed is the best I have encountered on any prior cruise with any cruise line.

great to hear, board next week for a B2B.....It is only because they have upgraded that I booked the transatlantic part...would not have done if old system (they were cabling during my December cruise so not experienced it yet)

I believe you lose a bag of laundry and a discount off the Ultimate Beverage Package if you were upgrading

Elite Plus = Discovery Plus internet is free. $5/day off ultimate beverage pkg.

Discovery Plus internet is 75% discount not free. (combined cabin benefit would make it free in Veranda Plus or Suite)

Poster was asking about what they would lose with lack of status booked in Owners Suite....internet would be free there with no status so no loss.

We cruise often with Princess and note that boarding time is often much ealier than what what is officially stated.  What is the normal boarding process at the pier?

11 post covid Azamara cruises and earliest boarding time for each has been 2pm (and latest time off ship is 9am)

Boarding process varies by port. My last in December in Miami was given a group number when arrived then through security then checkin desk then up to waiting area where first group was called for boarding at 2pm (they checked your group ticket before being allowed to board). Pireaus was given a group number and sat in waiting area before that group was called to go check in then through security and onto ship. Ravenna no group number given but was positioned in a seating area row to wait, then gathered a row at a time to go check in then into another waiting area before getting called for boarding.

Once boarded you get taken to your muster station for safety briefing then free to go about the ship.

  11. Are you in a suite? Combinable benefits would mean upgrade for free to unlimited for Discoverer in suite, 75% discount if in Veranda Plus or 50% discount for other cabin types

    BUT....

It would be nice if it happens however the status/points may disappear before your cruise. It may be that it will not be till the website change next month that things will update (or it could be delayed further and still shows status at the time of your cruise)

from the transition FAQs on website

    • As a Captain's Club member, will I continue having status and points with Azamara if I have only ever sailed with Celebrity?

Yes. Celebrity past guests will continue to have status points with Azamara if they only sailed with Celebrity until February 1, 2023.

After February 1, 2023, Celebrity Cruises-acquired points will only be protected and transferred to our new program if you have sailed on and completed a sailing with Azamara by that date.

  13. Whilst I agree that most things can be handled at the port, part of the online checkin is to select boarding time (which I guess is to stagger arrivals) many may not know boarding times don’t start till 2pm and turn up too early, everyone could turn up at once!

We used our six nights on a seven night cruise; an owners suite for less than the cost of an inside, so yes it does work.  As others have said you need to do your homework. Another good reason to work with a travel agent.

out if interest, were your previous bookings also same grade? I know the wording is that it is for your usual cabin grade. My past bookings had been 90% V1 and 10% CC suite. verandas were full so I have ended up with an outside (1st time) as was told could not go higher than my norm.
