there generally isnt any entertainment. Maybe once or twice an acoustic person will do something. The lounge really isnt that big enough to accommodate something

Sounds like if I want a little something something pre-dinner in the background I need to go to the other venues.

Pay in full OR put reminders on your calendar OR use a Travel Agent who will remind you anyway.

Sorry this happened, but ultimately it is on you to remember when your final payment is due. NOT on the cruiseline to remind you.

    Good luck.

I always read dates on my paperwork from my TA and bump it back by a week so I have a week cushion.

So far Celebrity treats guests as responsible adults ( no limit on the number of drinks, no signing for towels at the pool, no announcements every 30 minutes to remind you when bingo will start).

I have noticed that with X compared to RCCL.  I am surprised RCCL doesn't remind me to go to the bathroom with all the announcements, especially Diamonds International.

Does anyone have info on when we’re going to get a room assigned for our guarantee cabins? We booked guarantee interior because they were the only rooms left. We sail on the 6/14 Edge Alaska. I don’t want to show up to the port and them tell us that no cabins are left. Is it like the airlines where they will oversell rooms in the hopes that people will cancel?

You have a guarantee inside or better.  That will not happen.

  5. We walked in between 6 and 7 and the two of us never had a problem.  We always got a two top, but in 2022 they were seating you at tables for the size of your party as we were coming out of COVID.  One passenger got all bent out of shape he and his wife kept getting a two top.

We also seemed to always get the same two top and the same wonderful waiter.  I was even happier to see that our two top was on the second floor overlooking the first floor instead of stuck off in a corner or behind the kitchen door like other places on land do, in my experience.

I sail next Sunday and when I pull up the app I can't see any activities. So, they should be updating the app sometime before I board the ship? I have my Xpress pass on there already but the "Activity/Entertainment links are blank.

This is my first time back on Celebrity in 7 years and it looks like there are a lot of changes.

Edge Alaska Dawes Passage 31 May showed up exactly two weeks prior.

I found an internet complaint.  Pax on Celebrity was sick and it took too long (hours) to get help.  Comment was “I expected better service in the Retreat.”  I did ask why they didn’t walk down to the Medical Center.

I don’t mean people in veranda cabins should be refused medical care or bathroom access.  But if you pay more for something, is it unreasonable to expect better treatment?

Better service overall, yes however, nowhere in the retreat descriptions does it say priority medical care.  The only "better" is better accommodation, and a few other perks.

Hello, I will take Celebrity for 7 night Alaska trip on Sep. 2024. There are two shore excursions on Skagway I am interested:

    1. White Pass Railway and Klondike Highway Journey $182/pp 3hr15min - Train going and bus return between Skagway and White Pass.

    2. Best of Skagway $212/pp 6.5hr -  Train round trips plus other activates.

Which option do you think will carry better experience? Thank you very much!

    White Pass Trip.pdf 383.19 kB · 6 downloads

Take the train I loved it, but then again I am a train geek.  The views are amazing!  Suggestion if you do is to try to sit closest to the front for the coaches where a little heater is.

Does anyone know opening hours for casino after leaving Alaskan ports?

Remember, they have to get into international waters to open as do the shops on board.

Check your app or daily printed schedule for exact times as it varies by day and situation.

  10. I have noticed lately that if I reply to a topic, I am automatically set to receive pesky notifications in my email.  This has never been a problem before so here are the steps I found to work around it:

    1. Post your reply.

    2. Go to the top and click on the Follow box.

    3. Change notifications to do not send notifications and click follow.

    4. Click the follow box and click unfollow.

It is a pain but the only work around I have found.

Update, even if you just read the topic this happens.

Can you tell me about the nightlife on the ships?

we’re not looking for a ship that closes up shop at midnight. We’re looking for a ship that has an active nightlife and possibly a dance club open until late into the morning.
Does Celebrity have that? We’re looking at a 4 night in January on the Silhouette if that makes a difference.

You will find X (as it is shortened to due to the logo) is not exactly a party ship to the wee hours.  Usually about 11 or 1130 the sidewalks start rolling up and there may be a venue or two still having music until 1 AM.  Just IMHO, if you want a party ship, this isn't it.  There are not thumpa thumpa thumpa night clubs that the music pounds you into the ground.  They do have dancing but not really the hardcore dance clubs.

Hi, On a recent Celebrity cruise I witnessed a witnessed an incident that involved security. I'm very disappointed with the way Celebrity handled the incident and the lack of communication. They have ignored my calls and emails. I want to contact President Bethge. Does anyone have her email or can you suggest how I may get it? When I called Celebrity they refused to give it to me. I appreciate any help you can give. I'm very unhappy with Celebrity's customer service. Thank you.

I have researched and researched and all I could find is LBethge@celebrity.com or calling 1-888-751-7804.  No bear in mind that her email may very well be monitored, and all external incoming emails get routed to a screener.

  13. We will be on the Edge in Alaska in two weeks in a Concierge Class State Room.  What are the TV choices?  I'm also going to meet the comments at the pass, I do not plan on watching TV all day.  First thing in the morning before breakfast, music channels if we pop in for a bit, and tv viewing before we retire for the night. 🙂

Yeah I think it's newer on Celebrity but there is a group on another site dedicated to ducks, like letting people know they are placing them on x ship or when people find them.

I have two I brought home from Constellation Mardi Gras cruise. I'm considering ducks for my next one but depends on luggage space - I have issues with bringing more than I need 🙃

It could be a line issue.  RCCL I felt like I wasn't participating like I should.

Don't know what nights they are, but on sailings with similar length there's normally 2 formal nights.

Traditionally formal nights, no matter what a cruise line calls it, has been on sea days to allow a little extra time to get dressed and ready.  On a long port extensive itinerary, I don't know if that holds true.

Our cruise is in a week so I was looking on the app at the entertainment and it only showed theatre shows on the two sea days.  Is that normally how often there are theatre shows?  Not sure why, but I was under the impression there were shows every night in the theatre.

I noticed that for our cruise in two weeks.  They are still loading activities because ours shows no sail away party.  The app is only as good as IT loading the information.  Always go with the printed schedule on board .

As far as I know, there is no maximum. Of course, if you're downing vodka and get visibly trashed, they will cut you off, but there's no "15 drinks per day" or whatever like some cruise lines do. Do be aware, though, that you can only get one drink of any kind at a time per card (so like, you can't go up and ask for two bottles of water with just your card. You'd need a second person's card to get a second bottle).

I found that out last cruise.  I tried ordering a drink for myself and DH and they asked for his card as well.  Makes sense, they don't want you using yours to get a friend a drink who did not buy a package.

The store/ stores processor. Each purchase shows in the currency of the country you are in and the store will ask if you would like them to change it to your currency - sounds helpful but it just costs you extra. The answer is always "no thank you". The same applies to us on the ship as X will generously offer to convert our account from $ to £. Just make sure you use a card that does not charge a currency transaction/ conversion fee - there are lots to choose from.

And my experience, I always ask for the charge to go through in local currency as I often get a more favorable exchange rate.  Keyword: Often, not always.  Some countries are chip and pin for example UK.  I do not have a charge card being American that works that way, so I have to remind them it is a chip and sign where I have to sign a charge slip.  It is has been two to three years since I have been to the UK, so it might have changed.

  19. I have the premium for us for our cruise in 14 days, YIPPEEE!!!!!

I have been all over X's website and cannot find if there is a limit per day of how many drinks.  While I do not plan on getting anywhere near that amount, bottled water IS included in the plan and was wondering if non-alcoholic drinks count against that maximum per day, if it exists.

That one is quite nice and will be just fine on your door.  And fun to have at home as a memory.

They have some cute ones out there from writing your name on them which I would never do, to "Caution we bought the drink package".  I like this one:

26pcs Large Cruise Door Magnets Decorations, Today's Forecast Cruising with a Chance of Drinking Door Magnetic Cruise Ship...  I found these on Amazon.

I like to print documents also. A few years ago near Rocky MT Park a hotel gave us a bill that was double than what I booked for. I refused to sign the invoice & had the printed documents to prove my reserved price. Wrote it up on TA  also. They finally gave in & told us we had to wait for the mangers.  I told them if he wasn't there after breakfast, we were leaving & they could call the cops if they wanted. They got it done. So I always print any travel documents- call me old but I don't care.

You could have also disputed the entire charge with your credit card company since you had paperwork and they had no signiture, but that is another board.
