  1. I think I got my times mixed up yesterday. I'd go with earlier estimates of 1-2 weeks. The 11-day mark is when you should see the new boarding pass in the App.
  2. It is the Ocean Now function of the overall App that will incur a one-time charge per voyage. It seems this has been very popular, as well as ordering from Room Service, and perhaps they need to augment staff and that costs. Also, other lines do charge for RS and similar I have read and their fees are higher or the same.
  3. What I notice is that the update date of the App is a good day before it is in the Play Store. It was not there on July 31 and not sure if it was there on Aug 1... could be loaded up any time of day/night I suppose. The two platforms have different version numbers and I have no idea why they continue with such an odd numbering scheme for Android version.
  4. If you use west coast ports typically, I have not been, but pretty much everything I have read is that Suites and Elites board first if have been waiting in the lounge and then Platinums follow. Yes, they would often have same check-in line, but then receive different letters for boarding groups for when that would open. I never seen Platinums go onto the ship at the same moment as Suites and Elites. But welcome to Elite and you can now be among the first to board if you arrive at the terminal early enought.
  5. I am not a TA. Anyone can watch the webinar live or in replay. Be that as it may, the changes were posted here on Princess forum with lots of people posting about it. Sorry, you missed it, but it isn't a big deal now that Arrival Groups are gone as they didn't matter anyway.
  6. There is a 30-minute limit. But you need to engage a Princess employee to check the time and then start waiting. Some folks just remove the offending material. I have no problem with that. If guest ultimately returns, just tell them it was moved when you got there. If they are smart, they won't say anything since they know they were wrong.
  7. I believe calling someone a dork is contrary to CC guidelines. Don't be so hard on yourself - we all flub up in posting from time to time.
  8. For future reference, you can have Medallions shipped to any address in USA. For example, in Fall 2019, we cruised out of PE, FL, and I had Medallions shipped to our pre-cruise hotel because I couldn't get them sent into Canada. (But that is going to change soon enough as PCL's major markets are all going to be eligible for Medallion shipping).
  9. They are not assigning arrival times. The whole concept is gone. What did you see? What they are likely doing is showing the check-in time window. This is per a PCL webinar for TA's on July 13 where this change was presented and discussed. There is no such thing as Premiere Plus subscribers. Do you mean guest who purchased the Plus cruise fare option or the Premier cruise fare option? If so, they have no special priority for check-in at the terminal. Standard fare guests can also show up at their convenience. If a guest has Medallion in hand due to advance shipping, they are assigned to Green Lane at the terminal. If guest is picking up Medallion, they are assigned Blue Lane. However, the VP Sales also said folks can go in any lane and be served. Sometimes the Blue Lane will be shorter if majority of guests have Medallions. Suites and Elite have top priority advance boarding onto the ship - which only means something if they have arrived and are checked in prior to commencement of boarding. Platinum and guests who book Reserve Class cabins and are not yet Platinum or Elite also have a second priority for boarding the ship. Other guests at the terminal prior to boarding follow after onto the ship. Once the terminal is cleared, arriving guest simply proceed onto the ship after check-in.
  10. You must be referring to Apple Devices. It is separate for Apple/Android.
  11. JUL 31/23 - Android Version 3.0.108145. Bug fixes and improvements (the "always present" item) Updated onboard program information They don't say very much anymore.
  12. Good. It was expected for Arrival Groups to be gone. There should be a new "checked-in" boarding pass type screen, but you won't see that until closer to sail date (IIRC).
  13. @Mr Sea Gull, I did not go back and read your first post again. You have already cruised with Princess. You are signed up in effect. You have a Captain's Circle Member Number. They must have your Name, Address, Phone Number, Email Address, Birthdate, if you have cruised with them. Sounds like what you are saying is that you have not logged into their website before. Do you book own cruises or use a TA? If booking yourself, you should be logging in so you get any Past Passenger discounts on cruise fares (or OBC). You should not be shy about getting setup with a website ID and Password. You can then use the Princess Medallion App or the web version to get setup for check-in via pre-registration, If you do this is can make check-in somewhat smoother and there are things you can do ahead of time, such as dining reservations. You can login to Princess.com and pull up your profile. In there, you have options for contact categories and you can turn on/off via snail mail, email and phone.
  14. It just allows them to send you emails about new promotions, etc. Same things you can see online. They will send enticing emails to get you to book a cruise. Registering also assigns you a Captain's Circle number. If you are planning on a Princess Cruise, do you have a friend who can refer you? Sign up that way and you both get a $25 (Whoopee) OBC when you book your first voyage.
  15. No. All gratuities are included in the Plus/Premier cruise fare options.
  16. I'd have to look into your specific voyage example and have not. But recall this similar situation from some other thread. It could be that the Standard fare displayed is the typical lead-in category with GTY only cabins and Non-Ref Deposit. Moving to Plus or Premier may involve both a slightly higher Category with Ref Deposit. So, the lowest cabin price shown in the display of three options may not be same Category for all. If you were to find the Standard price for the Category displayed for Plus/Premier, you might find that the actual cost for the packages is the expected $60/$80.
  17. My point was that the cruise fare quotes do not include insurance as you shop and select a cruise. You first see the list price for the cruise and the port taxes. Add ons come later in the prcoess.
  18. Crew Call not the same as Crew Chat, so there is a confusion point. Picking up phone to call Housekeeping versus Room Service is going to be another confusion point. Ordering otherwise free things from Steward ( Housekeeping) via App is a confusion point. I wouldn't be surprised if IT told them it would take 6 mths to write it correctly versus 6 wks or days to slap-dash a quick fix to apply blanket charge. This is going to blow up in their faces and, as the song said, Change is Gonna Come. Thanks for catching me up on that finer point. I knew housekeeping was free, but a guest can get caught with a fee anyway. The savvy guest is not going to incur a housekeeping charge by contacting Steward or speaking directly. I do this now automatically anyway. And I mean the guest who isn't planning on using Ocean Now for food/beverage orders. If planning on using that, it doesn't matter about Housekeeping. It is just silly these things that work one way or another depending on mode of communication. And I wouldn't be surprised if most of the fault isn't IT because they have fumbled with the App for over two years now with bug after bug. You know, if they had quietly raised cruise fares $15 and just left the new RS fee in place, and left the App as-is, no one would notice anything untoward and they would eliminate 1000s of potential complaint issues. IT work would have been avoided, plus expected future maintenance and issue resolution. Most importantly, they would not have driven a stake into the core philosophy of the App and the concept of delivery service to where the guest is. Removal of barriers. Now many are looking how to get around and over a new unexpected barrier. At least the guests on Standard... which I suppose is not a big concern of theirs.
  19. MedallionNet is ordered via the Princess App ... or web version. It was removed from Cruise Personalizer quite some time ago.
  20. Because @Thrak ordered $22K worth! 🤣
  21. Did you read post #15? I think you will have a different thought if you check that one. There is no fee for Crew Chat.
  22. This claim has been debunked a hundred times. Princess cancelled the old coffee card program years ago. Then they cancelled the electronic coffee package. There was/is no program left to exchange to. So it is not a loss of Elite benefit, but a loss of a package and different packsges in place of. We still have our minibar and we can still exchange.
  23. I have no idea. I never take 5 or 6 beers anywhere on the ship. A suggestion would be to ask for one of their buckets with ice and keep the beers yourself. I presume they still sell buckets of beer.
