Anymore secrets not to do with ice cream please?
-
Adding up all of my OBC from various sources for my upcoming cruise, I'll start with $650 in credit. I'll probably have leftover credit even though I have several Princess tours booked. Maybe it's easier to have leftover credit as a single.
Not wishing to get personal with you Pam,but how does one get OBC of more then $100 per cabin with shares? I need to know the secrets.

I did purchase with princess for next week but withdrew it when I saw the exchange rate for pounds they were giving me worked out an extra 10$a day for me??so it can be done.

So we purchased the 'all-inclusive' alcohol drink package for our upcoming Emerald cruise. I think it was like $56 per person/per day. Is there a limit to the number of drinks you can get per day?
No.Just those under $10 are free.speciality coffees and teas and cocktails, etc are part of it.Also a 40% discount on wines under $100 a bottle.

Definition of tip:
A gratuity (also called a tip) is a sum of money customarily tendered, in addition to the basic price, to certain service sector workers for a service performed or anticipated. Tips and their amount are a matter of social custom, and the custom varies between countries and settings. In some locations tipping is discouraged and considered insulting; while in some other locations tipping is expected from customers. The customary amount of a tip can be one of a specific range of monetary amounts or a certain percentage of the bill. In some circumstances, such as with U.S. government workers[1] or more widely with policemen, receiving gratuities (or even offering them) are illegal, as they may be regarded as bribery.[2] A service charge is sometimes added to bills in restaurants and similar establishments. Tipping may not be expected when a fee is explicitly charged for the service.[3]

Thank you Tom for spelling this out. I had heard this on two occasions.
There is a website that gives you reduced rate cruises at the last minute.Price is in dollars and when you click on pounds the exchange rate is way out.
I could hardly believe it..

Not a big deal, but you really are passing judgment. When you say "So why don't they all pay them a decent wage in the first place?" you are implying that the cruise lines do not pay them a decent wage.
There is a minimum wage limit to each employee. The company pay less than that, knowing tips will top it up.
If the tips aren't sufficient to make the minimum wage limit, then the company fork out and pay.
Basically it looks like we top up wages to minimum wage.
I for one, would rather they get their wage correctly paid by Princess and our tips be what they are...tips...( not wages)

We are leaving on our first Princess cruise to Alaska August 9th and we booked an obstructed OV guarantee and just noticed on cruise personalizer that we were assigned an OV. Yay!
We are on this cruise.congratulations.

Thank you azbirdmom.
Wish we could do it.

It was an email
Sadly we are in Turkey on those dates.I have replied to the email and asked if there are any other offers, cheeky I know,But the October sailing is in the Med and we are going to Norwegian fjords. But we can go to the fjords anytime. I wish we could take up the offer....depending too where the mini suite is.!!

Do you know what there wage is? What their benefits are?
As Caribill said by their countries standards they do quite well.
I would not pass judgement unless you know factual info about their salary.
Charming.i was not passing judgement.if you look there is a question mark at the end of the QUESTION.

If the auto tips don't add up to a minimum wage on the ship, the company top it up.so why don't they just pay them all a decent wage in the first place?
-
Thank you all.the other but was,can we have a drink before we buy the package?
-
Wavelet.i did do this but realised as we were being charged in pounds, we were paying £256 per package which equates to about $61 a day.so per cabin per day they were making $10 per day..we cancelled and will buy with dollars on embarkation.but thank you for the reply.:)
-
Please could anyone tell me where we go when we embark Emerald this week,to buy the drinks package?
Will we have to get it straight away before we purchase our first drink for sail away, or will the beer costs go straight to our account and be transferred to the package deal once we get to buy? Thank you.
Purchasing drinks package...where on ship?
