  1. While you're at it.....those beach towels sure do dry me off better than the ones I can get at home SOOOOOO, would anyone cruising soon please mail me a couple since I don't cruise till May 2017......just thought I'd jump on the bandwagon while the mood is festive!

(This is a joke.....no slams about soap being free and towels not are necessary).

  2. They'll start throwing you off by 10 as the other OP stated. If you wait until then to go to customs, you'll be about 11 when hitting the outside. A cab ride to the airport and it's 11:30.....getting through security etc, 12:15pm, walking to a place to eat and eating lunch

1:15ish, catching up on emails and you're ready to board!!!

    Been there....got the T-Shirt!

  3. We're booked on the Vista May 6, 2017- May 14, 2017...it's an 8 day cruise to the southern Caribbean leaving from Miami and visiting Grand Turk, Dominican Republic, Aruba and Curecao. Our last cruise was this past January to these same ports on the Breeze originating in Miami as well.

Obviously we enjoy the southern voyages. Last time we did a western cruise in May it was still a little chilly. The further south the warmer the temps in theory at least.

If you booked early saver, you will be eligible for any price drops that may be offered until 2 days prior to boarding. The fare for our cabin, an 8C balcony, has actually gone up $150 since we booked in January so the ship must be selling well now.

    Good Luck!

  4. I've found with Carnival that if an upgrade is provided it is done prior to boarding. This happened to us in the early days; booked an oceanview and was upgraded to a balcony.

It seems that they use the Upsell group to offer upgrades for additional funds not freebies.

Never say never but it's pretty close I would think!

  5. They are well equipped to handle almost anything sort of surgery. My then 89 year old father

had complications from CHF while onboard the Glory. They were able to sedate him, put him on a ventilator, run all the necessary labs, communicate with hospitals, and they called me at home every 2 hours with updates. My Dad was too sick to airlift so the ship picked up speed and got to port as fast as possible. An ambulance was waiting and ship staff packed his belongings etc. and sent them with him. Bluntly, they saved his life.

It wasn't cheap but can you really put a price on life? He turned 91 today!

  6. Enjoying your review! We have lots in common.....Such as Purple- Gold! First Down Pirates! Getting Rowdy in Dowdy, lol! Both my wife and I are ECU grads as well as our daughter. We were there a tad before y'all (me 75-79; DW 78-82). We're dealing with the rain as well.....We have a house on Bogue Sound, Atlantic Beach. We are booked on the Breeze for Jan. 16, 2016 in a cove (2264) which is also under the excursion desk area.

Glad to hear it is quiet!!! Our passion is Pirates and Cruising, AARRGGGHHH! Think we could get a B's Barbecue on the Lido deck?

  7. We experienced this- sought of.......My wife and I were on our first cruise in 2002 celebrating our 20th anniversary. Our daughter, then 14, flew to Tampa to spend the week with her aunt (my sister). We arrived at our first port, Cozumel, and upon bonging off the ship with our sign and sail card, the security officer told us to go to guest services immediately. Of course our stomach's dropped, anxiety set in and we headed that way.

Upon getting to guest services, the message was "there is an emergency; call your sister immediately- no phone number left." Heart failure sets in as I'm dialing, only to get my sisters voicemail. I called every 15 minutes for two hours and decided to wait for another call to the ship from my sister. Finally.......4 hours later, we get called back to guest services for a message to once again call my sister. I called her, heard her voice and immediately broke down as I asked what was wrong with our daughter. She said, "I don't know what you're talking about.....we were out shopping all day". We were relieved to say the least, then anger set in. To make an even longer story short, WRONG CABIN!!!! our last name was off by 1 letter!! To make up for the error, we were reimbursed for the phone charges and given $25. OBC.........This episode took years off our lives!!

We have been on 10 Carnival cruises since and think about the incident every time we board. Somethings money can't fix!!

  8. Platinum so straight to the cabin. Check out the bed linens before the steward gets off duty. Start sanitizing the room, head for lunch and a lounger to watch the faces of the folks getting on board. Mustard drill, sail away and begin dreading that the cruise is going by too fast, lol!

  9. You might need to speak up.....in Miami, I asked where do I go because I think I get to board before the FTTF as I am Platinum. The lady said " walk next to me when I come out the door" which I did. Got on after the wedding parties and Diamond guests......

    Express yourself! Then have fun.............

  10. Don't Do It!......I did it once taking an early flight from Miami. We made the flight; barely but the toll it took on our cruise with worrying about it and then the worry early debarkment morning wasn't worth it! Stay on board till last call, relax, and the time will pass......Good luck!

  11. Been on the Glory multiple times and she has been our favorite ship. It now has the 2.0 upgrades which includes the Red Frog Pub, burrito bar, etc.

We will be sailing on the Breeze in Jan 2016. The Breeze appears to be far ahead as far as special things to do, eating opportunities etc. I don't think that you're comparing apples with apples. At any rate, both ships should provide you with an excellent cruise. If you're bringing kids, the edge has to be with the Breeze due to the water park alone.

    Good luck!
