If you see a price reduction BEFORE final payment and the sale that you booked under is still the same...just call Princess or your TA and request the new price.

If the sale deal has changed, you'll lose what ever benefits you booked under and get whatever is currently offered.

After final payment, you MAY be able to get a different cabin or some OBC. Chances are not good for either. I've tried twice. First time I got some OBC, second time I got a flat NO.

But not if your category is sold out.

Who said I can't figure it out?  Something you do can make you happy but till be a bad decision. To bad you have trouble figuring that our.

What may be good for me may not be for you. Too bad you can't grasp that.

  3. We have enjoyed Club Class dining several times. I busted my ass for over 50 years to be able to enjoy my retirement. If I want to pop for a suite or a club class mini that is my prerogative just as it is somebody else's to say they wouldn't waste the money.

Yes, yes and yes.  I have been able to take advantage of price reductions and better cabins on nearly every cruise by doing this.  On my last cruise on the Royal last April I saw a price drop in the morning and called and had it refared.  Later in the afternoon I checked again, something I usually don't do, just in the morning and saw that they were running a California Resident Sale and the price dropped again.  So I refared it twice in one day.  Wound up being the cheapest cruise I have ever taken in 30 years.

I enjoy looking at CC and the Princess web in the morning while I have my coffee, but don't worry, I am not offended by your mockery!

You are so right, I have saved a ton of money by checking every day.

We have a booking on the Caribbean Princess in December which we booked in April.  We booked C506 a mid aft (B2) balcony just aft of mid ship.  Princess just “Upgraded” us to D722 (MD) mini suite all the way in the back.  This cabin is opposite the self service laundry.  It’s certainly not what we consider an upgrade.

At the moment our TA is fighting with Princess to get our old cabin back.

The only problem I see is that you didn't say "Thank you". Great room, great location.

Yes.   Welcome to the  “Suite Life”.   Owner’s Suite?  Since you are booked into a full  suite,  you will have some exclusive perks.  Ask Stewart.

Good luck, and enjoy the  “ Suite Life”.

Would that be Stewart Stuart, the steward?

After our excursion in Juneau, we had about three hours to explore. We headed for the Red Dog Saloon first to have a famous Duck Fart Shooter. The Red Dog was a cool place. I would have liked to spend more time there and eat dinner but we had planned to go to Tracy's Crab Shack. We should have stayed at Red Dog cause Tracy's was lined right out the door so we didn't end up getting to do that. Anyways, Red Dog did not disappoint. We snagged the last empty table right inside the door. Some others from our tour group had to wait outside.  We did the duck farts. They were delicious. Better be for $7.50 a piece! And because we did the duck farts we were given a sharpie to sign the table. The atmosphere in Red Dog was quite enjoyable. And they even had dirt floors.

The new Red Dog is OK (Coast Guard flag on ceiling) but nothing like the original Red Dog across the street. I think you will find the floor is saw dust on concrete.

    Wow.  What a disappointment.

Since the Royal Princess bridge (the captain?)  lied to you,  did you, or are you, going to ask for a full or partial refund of your cruise?   Or what compensation from Princess do you expect?

    Good luck.

Kingoffool, thanks as always for your positive contributions.😉

I’m sorry you were disappointed. I was on this cruise and had a fantastic time. I never heard any passengers complaining, and I was out and about a lot on Friday. Friday’s day at sea was smooth. I’ve sailed the Inside Passage, too, and though it is pretty, I don’t feel like we really missed out.

I was not disappointed, I have made this trip many times before and it really didn't matter to me. However, I spoke to several people who expected to sail the inside passage to Vancouver. Some were extremely upset and they expected some sort of compensation.

I enjoyed the cruise as usual and thought I got my money's worth. OF COURSE I DID!!

We are considering booking two of the forward facing balconies on the Royal for an upcoming Mexican Riviera cruise (L102,103, 104, etc.) When talking to the Princess agent she stated that the balcony door is required to remain closed anytime the ship is in transit so the balcony could only be used in port. We found this rather unbelievable - obviously we understand that at times it could be too windy, but certainly never to be able to use the balcony while the ship is moving seems rather extreme. Is there anyone here who has been in one of these rooms who could comment and let us know your actual experience. Thanks in advance!

Not so, you can go out anytime you wish.

We used the term when we would be tied up to a pier for a period of time after a deployment,

Ammo and fuel was off loaded. Air Group flew the planes off prior to entering the Harbor.

The "yard birds" would come aboard to do repairs that we could not do.

Commonly referred to as a dockside availability
