We wanted to stay at Hotel Jazz in Barcelona for one night pre cruise but it appears that the rate has increased to $287 which is out of our budget. We are most concerned with being in a secure hotel in a safe area. Any similar hotels recommended?

Also how would we get from airport to hotel and then to cruise terminal.

We was looking at the Jazz as well and like you said it is really expensive...too much for us. But I have asked for other recommendations but havent had much like with those either. A couple have been fully booked and another was a Hostel...

If I hear anything I will let you know..... just hope we can get something sorted soon.

Hi This will be the first time in Barcelona precruise in Oct... Could I have some Hotels recommend other than the Jazz or any of those really expensive hotels. We are looking around £100 a night hotels...in a safe district.

Well on the Eclipse for the past two novembers there have been no tickets or notes left on seats. I was really annoyed one day as all the beds where full...not all people but some with items like you have mentioned...books,,towels.. After seeing bed after bed taken we saw an older couple sitting on beds by the railing talking to another couple...opposite a row of beds with two beds with a bag and towel on...I asked the people next to them if there was someone sitting there andthey all said yes that couple over there ..they had two beds in the sun and two beds in the shade.! Well mu bloodpressure went sky high and I went over and asked them to remove there things.to which I got a no we are sitting there. Well about 8 people sitting near by all said they hadnt sat there all morning.! I was livid and went of to sea the pool staff to complain. Which was useless as he couldnt understand me and said he would get someone.! When I went back upstairs this couple had sat in the chairs and my husband pulled me up the deck..saying they are old and to leave it...!! I was furious with him as they was about our age.!!

Saw the couple a few days later and she made a point of saying thats the women from the other day.... and gave me such a look.! Grrrrrrrrrr.!! Nothing rubs me up like this usually but it is just so damn annoying and selfish !!

My husband and I came home off the Eclipse two weeks ago...Just had a credit card statement and have extra amount on that. Tried to phone Celebrity...put through to different departments until I gave up.. Have now sent an email..If not answered I will email again and phone. It just isnt good enough.

Why do we pay our insurances? If they will not pay up...makes my blood boil..They take your money and never give it back.. And to say the cases are left in an unsecure place????? What at the airport???? in there secure areas?

To make matters worse Miami airport just wasnt interested and said they couldnt do anything.?

Just hope it doenst happen to anyone else. ..But form what your have said it has and will do in futher.! JUst dont let it happen to you!

Having just returned from a recent cruise with our freinds to Heathrow from Miami they found there suitcases had been raided.! Goods were stolen from them.! Gifts for the family as well as some of thier own goods.

The items had been removed from boxes and boxes, ribbon left behind.!

The only people who could have stolen these items was at either Miami airport Luggage Lockers...Miami airport...or Heathrow, Which seems unlikely as the cases came through no later than anyone elses.

Please do not leave anything of value in your luggage as the insurance company do not pay out for any of the items stolen as they say ' The cases where left in an unsecure place.'

Great to see you and your mom again..so sorry you have both been poorly. You are right there was a lot of coughs and colds on board. Hope you are both better now.

Well as I said to you the other day we are now going to jump ship and go back to Royal Caribbean. A great shame we will not see you again at the Connections meeting and Gift Exchange...We have had fun with you for the past two years.

We was dissapointed with the ship this year. Things seemed to have slipped and feel we didnt want to try it again.

Some of the staff we found this time where very rude and if they could they would avoid contact with you so as to not serve you. Cafe El Bacio being the worse for that. One day my husband stood for ages when there was six people behind the counter chatting and fiddling with things. When the lady did go up to him she said "Do you want something then" well of course he wanted something.! that wasnt the only time either.

The MDR seemed to have cut there staff by half and they was rushed more than ever. On the first leg of our B2B we was asked if we would like any wine...no drinks package I must add. Gave our order and that was the last we saw of the Wine Waiter or our wine.! We never did get it.

No chocolates as others have said...but no big deal it wasnt really needed. But only being a Select member we only had a chocolate covered Oreo on out pillow the first formal night. No towel animals in all the 28 nights.

Even the Connections Meeting (as we was told to call it and not Cruise Critics meeting) wasnt the same. There was noone at the door to welcome you in or to check you had an invite for it. If it hadnt been for you Andy the meeting would have really been quite boring.

Has Host Andy said if he found out where Perry Grant will be playing on Eclipse once Cellar Masters is converted to the Gastro Bar this coming April?

In answer to your question Grace no there is still no news on where Perry will go. My husband and I have also just got off on sunday, we meet Perry the other day and we asked him the same question..which he answered he still had no idea of where he was going..

Talking about Perry I would like to say we didnt like the Cellars for his show. Unless you got in there very early all his usual fans had already taken the front of the room. And also seats where hard to find where you could actualy see him on the piano. A couple of times we went in and had to sit on a sofa in an alcove facing the wrong way, althought it was good to hear him but without seeing him it took the fun away.

Are those who are making fun of this poster aware that the Carnival Ship that had the Dallas worker on it was refused entry to ports in Mexico and Belize because of the patient on board who did not even have Ebola. Perhaps the poster had this in mind when she asked the question. I do agree that NYC is not going to refuse entry to the ship because there is an ebola patient in the city, also believe there has been too much hype of this situation due to the Media with their "if it bleeds, it leads" mentality. And yes, I do realize that this situation is different since the patient is in the city and not on the ship.

Very good points thankyou. That is indeed a lot of things where he could spread his germs..without kissing him.!! And some dirty people dont even wash there hands when they use the bathroom.!

I was not talking about everyone panicing but a ship full of people confined together for a length of time.It only needs one person to catch it and spread it on board. And then on the islands.

We are due to go on the Translantic in November and stop at NY over night...was wondering if we will still dock there now there is a confirmed case of Ebola.?

Yes, that's correct. Arno and his DW are currently onboard a Celebrity ship. Knowing Arno, I'm sure he would provide updates if he could, but he mentioned the Internet is very sporadic. Besides... what matters the most, is that they have a wonderful cruise !
