  1. Hi, I have been wondering about our coming cruise in November on the Eclipse. We have booked two weeks with one TA and then the next two weeks with a different one. Will this be treated as two seperate cruises? what I am getting at is after the first cruise (Translantic) what will happen at the end. Will we have to pack up the same the night before and have the cases to be collected or will the ship know we are on the next cruise and just change our cabin and clothes.?

Has anyone else done this and could help please.? Many thanks

  2. My view is if people do not wash there hands or have gel on them then they will not put there hands in these either.!

Other than someone "policing" the washrooms and making people wash there hands they will still not do it.

From now on I think I will speak up if I see anyone going to walk out of the bathrooms and not wash there hands. Prehaps if we all did this then the problem may be avoided.

  3. Over here in the UK we have Noro Virus just like every other country, Our hospitals get it quite badly and have to stop visitors going in to see there loved ones. They have hand sanitizers by the ward door but I have never seen anyone use it!!. Going in or out of the ward.!

The schools have also been hit badly with it and they tell all parents that if a child has any kind of sickness then they must be kept home and not let back until 48 hours after the sickness has stopped.! But some parents do not like having the children home that long and send them back too early. So then the class goes down with it.!

So surely being told to stay in your cabin is no different.! And something I always think about is what about everyone else in the cabin.? They could be carriers! Yet they let them walk around and carry on is THIS right.??

  4. There are a lot of things that cause vomiting that aren't not norovirus. One day at the doctor, I was very dizzy and started vomiting. It turned out, my blood pressure was too low. Vertigo can also cause vomiting.

Personally, I think they should allow people in their staterooms as soon as they board. If people are feeling ill, they can retire to their stateroom instead of spreading germs in the Windjammer.

Oh dear I really do hope they wouldn't let an ill person get on board let alone let them go to the cabin.! If they are ill they shouldnt even try and get on board.!!

  5. My husband and I are not sailing Royal this year but Celebrity but I thought I might just add something to this discusion.

People are still using the toilets and just walking out.....without a care.! Our friend was so fed up seeing ladies doing it in the washrooms so one day asked a women to " please wash your hands..you have just used the toilet" The lady was non too happy about it but did go back and wash them. I thought that was a great thing to do and from now on on our cruises I will do the same thing.! Prehaps if a few of us could do that then it would make things better all round. After all these dirty people will not catch anything as they are used to it....it will be us that will be ill...so prehaps we should all do it.! And that goes for the men as well.

I have bought a proper hospital standard spray and wipes that I take with us also and use these in between times.

Do not touch any hand rails going down the stairs...steady yourself with your arm or wrist. Also in the elevators push the buttons using your elbow if possible. All these things must carry no end of germs.

    Stay well and safe.

  6. My husband and I was on the Eclipse in November and was very disappointed with the music. Around the pool there used to be a calypso band in the day and going to the Caribbean that really fitted on . But not any more. The whole entertainment for the cruise was not worth seeing again. And some of the acts where on again, maybe doing different things or singing other songs but the same person. This happened about three times in the 14 days.

In the past we have had very good entertainment on the Royal Caribbean ships and better still on the Celebrity but not this time.

Saying that we are going back again this year but think we may give the shows a miss.

But again this is our personal opinion and others would, maybe, loved it.

  7. So sorry to hear your wife is too poorly to go on your cruise. But I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. And , although you are dissapointed, now you still have a 14 day cruise to go on at another time. Which I am sure you will enjoy even more.

    Take care.

  8. Hi,

Well my husband and I never go to anything more than a 2C Veranda cabin...midships. And from what we have seen it is ,to us, a waste of money to go any higher. Last year, Nov, we did a Cabin Crawl and got to see upper decks cabins, Aqua, and Concierge. Most of those where the same as ours but had extras.! extra Captain's Club points, better robes and towels, flowers, an expanded room service menu, footstools on the balcony Some on the corner or humps where slightly bigger. Or had slightly bigger balconies.

But to us we are not bothered about the extras and we feel we can use the money to have a better cruise. After all you only sleep in them.

  9. Hi Andy ,Laura and everyone else involved with this board. A very Happy New Year to you all.!!

Many thanks for the reminders you have listed. It would be great if everyone who comes on reads it.! lol And takes notice.

Andy, hope you received my email and the gift exchange you wanted.? Please send out regards to your mum, aunt and uncle. It was great to meet them.

Ok looking forward to the next 11 months of meeting new "Friends" on the roll call and helping as many people as I can to enjoy there cruise.

    Take care

    love

  10. After coming back a week ago from the Eclipse I thought this was very interesting. On CC I had a list of people who wanted to go one evening in a group. I was told we all had to pay when we booked. But when we got on board the lovely lady Matrie Di told me "No you dont pay before when you book but after the meal."? So Head Office needs to get the facts straight and sort this out.?

  11. Well after coming back last week from the Eclipse we have been saying how the food has gone down over the last three years.

The choices seem to have got less and worse also. A prawn cocktail, which I seem to have most nights as I didnt like the other choices where not very good. Hardly any lettuce and a tiny slice of tomato if you are lucky. The four large prawns are nice though.

My husband didnt like the lobster.......which used to be the highlight of the cruise. It said it was very small and like rubber. And the awful Risotto that was under it was inedible.

What is happening with Celebrity????? We have had great meals with Royal Caribbean. Infact I now think they are better than Celebrity.!

I do hope they will take a look at the food they have to offer and the comments made and do something about it.

Also didnt we used to have with our coffee a chocolate.?

  12. We wil be on this cruise in Feb. Do you remember which nights were formal nights? We want to book a couple of speciality restaurants but don't want to miss the MDR on formal nights Thanks.

    Vicky

    Hi Vicky,

Well our formal nights had changed from earlier in the year and we was the first sunday, thursday and then last thursday.

    Hope this helps.

  13. We have also just got back from the Eclipse.

It was really such a good cruise and all the Cruise Critics members made it even better.!

We had a large group for the Gift Exchange which went very well. Thanks to all those who took part.

I had arranged three tours..Aruba...Grenada and St Lucia. The favorite of all was St Lucia with Cosol Tours......I would always recommend them as they are first class in all there tours. And Aruba with Howard Folkes of Hf tours came a close second place.

The Eclipse was easy getting on and off again at the beginning and end of cruise.

There was always someone cleaning something on board and everything was so clean and shiny. We took our hand sanitizer but never used it on board. The Resturants had someone each time with a bag of hand sanitizer and as far as we could see people was using it. As far as the restrooms again it was clean and there is a sign on the door to use paper towels to open doors and then throw it in the bin. Also the doors where automatic.

Our stateroom was always clean and tidy and we was well looked after.

As far as the food in the Main Dining Room. We felt it was not as good as it had been three years before. But we didnt starve. However the standard had dropped. Plus our waiters where all so rushed we never had a proper chance to have a chat with them. Ours didnt have any time to do any tricks the whole time which my husband was disappointed about. But it wasnt there fault.

Prehaps we shouldnt compare but we also thought the Shows each evening was a let down. The cast of singers and dancers where really good as was the Pung Fei the Chinese act. But the special acts not good. We had a singer on twice, comedian twice. And so on. I fell to sleep most nights.!

Celebrity really need to do something about these shows and get people on who people would like to see not repeats after repeats. No wonder the audience was in very low numbers.!

All the staff we met where very helpful and nice to talk too.

We felt the Music on board in the day time was at just the right noise level. But really missed the Caribbean band playing at the poolside. Shame they are gone now being we was in the Caribbean.

And the Pool Trivia was just one question "guess how many". each sea day.

Was great to see people leaving towels on there beds for longer than 30 minutes being moved. About time something was really done. Also didn't see people saving two beds in the sun and two in the shade this time.

Although we was disappointed in some things we still enjoyed our cruise in whole. And have already booked to go again next year.

  14. Hi to everyone. This question may have already been asked but please bare with me to ask again. I usually buy wine for the dinning room. middle package. But I cannot find it this time for the Celebrity Eclipse.? Before you could buy 5/7 or 12 bottles. or something like that. ? Can someone point me in the right direction. Many thanks Brenda
