No such thing as a boring sunset!
I read a cruise review in a magazine once where the bored author remarked, “after all, you’ve seen one sunset, you’ve pretty much seen them all”. WRONG!!!

By contrast, we cancelled a cruise with Viking Ocean for next year.  Received our deposit back within a few days.  A couple of weeks later we also received two $500 vouchers for Viking Ocean or Viking River cruises.  A complete surprise and a goodwill gesture that will bump them to the top of the list when we return to cruising.

Sorry, Princess.  Fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice, shame on me.

This has been, so far, an expensive lesson in customer loyalty.

Thanks for sharing.  Good to know.

Today is day 90 after I received my Princess Booking Compensation Receipt that confirmed my choice of Option 2.  So far, all I have received from Princess is two emails with recipes and marketing emails enticing me to book another cruise - but no refund. They are sitting on over $9,000 of my money.

Cruise with confidence?  We are Elite with Princess, but I'm becoming increasingly confident that Princess won't be my first choice when we start cruising again.

    I want my money!

I received my full cash refund a couple of days ago.  I am elite, like you, and I had close to five figures involved.  Hang in there.  I was close to 90 days.

Look at all policy fine print. See that something like war, act of God, pandemics are not covered.

OK, but if they don't cover those things, what is the point?

It seems I would have been better off to save the thousands of dollars that I have paid in Princess Insurance, since 1988, and created my own cruise insurance travel fund.  I would be covered, at my own discretion.

The old saying about fool me once... Fool me twice...  Comes to mind.🙂😌🙄

  5. I always have Princess Platinum Insurance.  I was wondering...  Why doesn't the insurance just pay for my March cruise that Princess cancelled?

Is is it not "real" insurance?

In the past, when I have had to claim damages with car insurance or house insurance, I was paid quickly.  Why doesn't "Platinum" insurance work this way?

i am looking for an easy to understand answer, not something long and involved concerning contracts, etc.. In other words, I did not have to be a contract law expert to get my payments from car insurance or home insurance.

    Thanks in advance, all.
