  1. Sorry you felt this way. We loved the Escape so much that we got off and booked two more cruises on the Escape! Yes, it is a HUGE ship but we never felt over crowded and always found somewhere to sit and relax around the ship. We also never felt like we had to "bring our checkbooks", except for normal things that most all the cruise lines charge for. Going back next weekend and cant wait!

  2. Only difference is Pullman bed over the pull out couch. Otherwise the same. Your more likely to get the regular mini suite, so bid away......

When I looked up the family mini-suites, most were all connecting rooms and also had bath tubs? We have never had good experience with connecting rooms with noise level, though never had one on the Escape before so may be different. No need for a bath tub since our children are older now;)

  3. Do they limit the number of reservations per day?

Yes, try to make reservations as soon as you can as they tend to fill up fast!

  4. Question, I am assuming that when you are bidding for a "mini-suite" it is for any of the mini suites available, including the family mini suites? The reason I ask is that there seems to be a bunch of family mini suites still available on our up-coming cruise and I personally did not want to win one of them so I didn't bid on them for that reason. Just wanted to make sure, thanks in advance!

  5. We have always booked straight from their website. You just pay a $5.00 deposit pp (via Paypal) and pay the remaining balance when you arrive. We always bring cash to pay the balance when we arrive. I just booked for our end of September cruise. We have been here may times and love it!

  6. Has anyone used Uber for going to a port and get stuck in line? Not sure how Uber handles delays and I know sometimes it can take 15-20 minutes to get to the drop-off area once there. We are going out of New Orleans for the first time so unsure how well it moves. I have a rental van reserved but after looking at the cost of Uber it's about the same without the hassle of picking up and dropping off the rental.

We used Uber this past January cruise in Canaveral and had no problems going to port from hotel, super fast. Getting back to the hotel after the cruise was a totally different story, it was horrible! Ended up having to cancel out 3 of them and after the forth one decided to not show up, we ended up taking a taxi. Talking with others, it tends to be hit or miss.

  7. Our children are a bit older (12 & 15) and they LOVED this ship so much that we booked it again for this fall. That is the best thing we found about this ship its that it is both family friendly and also perfect for just some couple time alone! I actually booked it again for next January for a couples only cruise as well;)!

  8. We also just sailed the Magic last week and I have to say that this was by far the smokiest ship we have ever been on! Of course we had a great time as we always do, but we didn't care for the Magic as much as we thought we would (especially being on the Breeze and the Dream quite a few times).
