  1. I agree esecially the anytime dining is worth it to us. We chose 1st seating for our last cruise (Fantastica) on our paperwork it said 6:30 but when we boarded we were assigned 5:30. Technically it was the 1st of 3 seatings because the ship was soldout, but way too early for us. We couldn't switch it for the entire 14 days. Also, couldn't find a chair on deck on sea days so that is another advantage of Aurea. For those 2 things alone it's worth it for us.
  2. Looking forward to hearing about your NA cruise in March. We are big HAL fans. I will most likely do another live review from Pearl in April (although I did one last year so I'm not sure many will be interested in another so soon).
  3. If you know the “sedate” cruise ships please tell me. I promise we’re great fellow pax lol I’ve been spending time on the NCL board here and on FB and the reviews are definitely mixed and dependent on the ship. Some are getting their rooms serviced twice a day and some aren’t. My niece and her husband just returned from the Escape yesterday and loved it. Ship was packed but they said service was good everywhere. They’re in their early 50’s for reference. We usually tell our attendant to refill our ice each day and give us fresh towels every other day. We don’t need him/her to come every day. I’m a neat freak so I make the bed and straighten up each day. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m odd like that. 😬
  4. We love watching his videos as well. The guy is living the life for sure!!
  5. We’ll pretend I’m saying it in my Boston accent lol
  6. Yes I saw some in the hallways on our Divina cruise folded up. Along with portable cribs and playpen type things. Couldn’t edit it to cot when I realized spellcheck changed it😏
  7. Exactly our experience which is why we used our balcony so much. Divina just cannot accommodate the crowds they’ve been having. That poor crew☹️
  8. The only positive I can see to that scenario is I would lose my appetite therefore not gain any cruise weight 🙈

    Need help

Different ship but we were on Divina in January and a family had a service dog. Speaking to them about it they told us they were provided pee pads They said they knew this before so they worked with their dog at home to get him used to it.
  10. That’s so good to hear! I’m the same I like my food hot. I always worried that the food wasn’t being held at the correct temperature on our cruise. Especially the aft buffet because it’s not as busy.
  11. I do! I enjoy dressing up on a cruise at night. On the longer itineraries I notice more people dress up.
  12. We went the end of April and the weather was perfect and we never felt like there were huge crowds anywhere.
  13. Nice review. Looking at booking Mera out of NY to Bermuda end of Summer. Was the (hot) food in the buffet on your cruise hot? That was one reason why we stopped eating at the buffet on Divina last month. The food was barely warm. I couldn’t understand why when there were so many people eating there. We limited our choices to the salad and fruit.
  14. Here is a video of from MSC Grandiosa HC balcony with a Pullman. It is not an ideal set up. The person sleeping on the side of the bed near the balcony will have to avoid that ramp and then duck down under the Pullman on their way to the bathroom at night
  15. Our first MSC cruise was on MSC Divina in the Mediterranean in 2019 in the YC. It was amazing. If you’ve never been to Europe I would recommend planning to spend some days on land either before or after the cruise. If you fly to Rome you could spend a week exploring Italy, which will give you a taste of what that beautiful country has to offer. Italy is our favorite. There’s so many beautiful and interesting things to do and see. Our bucket list cruise is a River cruise on Viking. You may want to explore that option as well. I think you’re wise to put it all into the European cruise and forfeit the Caribbean idea. You can do that anytime.
  16. Some of the itineraries these folks were referencing are 10 days with stops in Bermuda, the Bahamas and Port Canaveral. They’re now being told that they are skipping Bermuda. Just went back to read the post. March 18 cruise. Cancelled Bermuda and will instead stay 2 days in Port Canaveral before cruising back to NY. Strange.
  17. 1) Magnetic hooks 2) clothes pins/bungee cords (for a makeshift clothesline ) 3) laundry fabric detergent sheets (to hand wash bathing suits and under garments on longer cruises) 4) foldable hangers 5)full variety of OTC meds and first aid stuff
  18. I saw something about this last night on another social media page. Other people were posting that they received an email from NCL about their upcoming cruise (some in Feb and some in March) informing them that they are skipping Bermuda as well. I wonder what’s going on with that. Certainly it’s not weather related this far out.
  19. I would rebook that cruise to Alaska on HAL especially since you live on the West Coast. For your first cruise I honestly wouldn’t suggest a ship as big as Seascape. 5,000 people is overwhelming on any size ship I don’t care how big it is. Alaska is still our favorite cruise and I love HAL which is who we cruise to Alaska with.
  20. Yes! I left a note asking for tissues, wash cloths and ice for our room attendant when we went to dinner the first night and everything was there when we returned. He kept that up the entire 14 days. I even noticed the box of tissues was in this picture I took when someone at home asked if we were watching the game that day! (Right on desk above fridge) Tissues still do exist on MSC you just need to ask for them!😉
  21. The TA is correct I looked at that sailing and only YC and Interior rooms are available all other categories are sold old. @dencord7 please let us know how this works out.
  22. @Nunagorashave any of your MSC cruises been from the US?
  23. Agree. It’s hard to believe some people don’t check their reservations weekly (or daily lol) like I do. I’m actually surprised that the HC room assignment hasn’t been changed to someone with a need. It’s been a year since the agent picked the room.
  24. I thought that as well but she didn’t correct herself and the two rooms are in the same area I don’t think the agent would have put 4 people in a room that can only accommodate 3 like the 2 handicap rooms you mentioned
