I was not worried about the price going up but we wanted to pick different seats. Had to be paid to do that so I went ahead and paid a couple months ahead of time.
We do the same thing and pay early so we can pick our seats or upgrade. You can’t get seats until air is paid and I want to know well in advance!

We got back yesterday from a 7 day Mexico on the Oosterdam and booked a 14 day Baltic on the Neiuw STATENDAM for May 2021. My husband really wants to see St Petersburg. Booking on the ship, we should get Up To $800.00 ea. Air credit, gratitudes, drinks, $400.00 ea. OBC plus we are shareholders. Main reason is we pick our room! Got a V bump out room. ,230 sq. Ft. in just the room, plus balcony.
I WILL keep checking prices and promotions and can always cancel and rebook. Isn’t that the good thing about booking on the ship? Also the deposit is only $100.00 p.p. And it’s over a year away. This promotion was only for certain European cruises in 2021. The promotion if I understand right, last through February. -
We booked V7131. Looks like the room is bigger. How do I find pictures of that room, please.
-
Just booked a bump out room on deck 7. Anyone have information on those rooms? Pictures? I can’t find any, but it is supposed to be a bigger room and balcony.

Just remember there is not much for kids to do on Holland. It is mostly older people and very few children.

Glad you guys had a fun time!

Sounds like you are going on the Maasdam? We did a tour to the pearl farm a couple of years ago. It was very interesting. Not much else to do in Guaymus but fishing, beach stuff.
We will be on the October cruise. This will be our third time up the Sea.- 1

I have sailed on Norwegian, Princess, Royal Caribbean and HAL. I like entertainment such as sing-a-longs with a piano player, dancing with a good rock band, classical music, singers, Karaoke, but I can live without production shows. The only first rate production show I've ever seen on a cruise was on the Celestial Crystal cruising around Cuba. My view is if they can't do it right, don't do it. Having said that, I am hoping to sail on a 16 day cruise to Mexico on the Maasdam next fall and hope I enjoy it and don't get bored.
If you are thinking of the Sea of Cortez cruise, I would book early. The ship sells out fast and the prices don’t go down. We booked for the Oct 2020 last week with Holland’s sale and will have over $1000.00 OBC including our Shareholder credit.

Being a 4 star mariner, my favorite things are the balcony cabins with a sofa since I have a bad back. Also, this summer we to a competitors ship and the forward area like the Crows Nest was not open during the day. The Crows Nest is my favorite place to read and watch the water. I’m sticking to Hal!

Did the Zaandam get a upgrade to the new tv opposite the bed? Also did it get new outlets and USB ports in the Vista suites?
-
I also read that the Princedam and Eurodam were both sold. They will continue their 2019 contracts. That saying said, I am looking at the 18 day reposition on the Masdam in July 2019 from Seattle to Japan. I wonder what the ship will look like.

The website is horrendous in this day and age! Go hire a new webmaster! Make it easy!!

Did 10 day Mexico in Nov 17, 14 day Alaska in June 18, and 11 day Sea of Cortez in Nov this year. My husband always goes to the gym after 5 pm so we always order room service. The new interactive tv’s are wonderful as they always show the menus. I ordered several times off the main dining room menu after the first hour of service and had no problems. We are 4 stars, and some of my best dinners have been in the room, or on our balcony.

I’m going on the Eurodam in November to Mexico. I booked an aft facing balcony. Anyone have pictures? The room is 5192. Future Cruise person said they were bigger than regular balcony rooms. Thanks

CCL shares. You mist purchase a minumim of 100 shares. You will get a on board credit for each cruise amount depends on number of days the cruise is. You also get dividends on the stock. It has been very good to us. Before your cruise, you jury need to fax or email a copy of your current shares.

We were on the14 day Zaandam recently and we always eat in the room. I had no problems ordering from the main menu at any time during regular dinner hours. Prime Rib, steak and lobster, etc. our food always came within 1/2 hour from ordering and was hot. No need to wait for the serving time at the MDR. Look on your ship app or tv for the days menu.

Just my opinion. I would always upgrade to a Neptune Suite -if I could afford it. We are 4 star cruisers and last November on the Westerdam was our first Neptune experience. I loved the large room, lounge, flowers, and the extras that came with it. (We were across from the lounge, and used it often) It was a splurge for us, but a wonderful one. Now back to a balcony room.

We were in a Neptune Suite in November. It was great. I have pictures if you give me an email or Facebook name. Sorry, I don’t know how to post on this site.

We did a Neptune Suite on Westerdam in November. We were just across from the lounge and one door down. It was such a nice location as I could just pop over into the lounge and get a snack or coffee/drink. The deck is very quiet and yes, the grey area is for the crew working in the lounge.

TA sent an email saying that they received a message from HAL that there are Arrival and Departure times changes to our itinerary. We can't find any. Did anyone else get a notification like this?
Is this for May 21,2018 to Alaska? If so, we have not heard anything and we are booked for this cruise.
-
We are booked on this cruise May 21-June 4 on the Zaandam. It is going into a two week drydock in April, so I hope it is refreshed. We did a cruise on the Westerdam in November after a drydock and I like the changes except the Crows Nest and Library.
I am looking at the 10 hour train trip out of Anchorage. Has anyone done this?
-
Thank you for the information. It does look like the same train. Did it have an observation dome car or food to buy onboard? 10 hours is a long time and I want to be able to walk around the train. The ship is in Anchorage for 13 hours, so I would take the ships tour in case something happens.
-
Do you get to sit anywhere on the train including the observation dome cars? Can you buy extra food onboard?
-
Has anyone taken the 10 hour excursion on the train? What was it like? We are looking at it, at the end of May. The ship is in Anchorage for 13 hours, and this is one of the excursions offered. Thanks!

I started this thread and just wanted people to be aware of what flying it may take to do your desired cruise. We are 4 star with Hal, so not new to cruising. We have been to Alaska, but not to Denali. I wanted to see that part of Alaska, but after finding out Hal finishes up in Fairbanks with no good flights home,it was a deal breaker for DH. The options were to leave at midnight and take three planes with layovers home on the next morning. Or pay twice as much and still take three planes home to Southern California to (Orange County airport )at 7am and get to the home airport at 10:15pm. That is longer than our South America trips! So, I changed to a 14 day cruise that goes all the way up to Anchorage ,etc.
I have looked at other cruise lines with land trips to Denali and they don’t seem as long of flights. So I may do more looking at options, and still go next year. Just do your homework if you don’t like to sit in airports and make many plane changes.
Do you know when South America cruises for fall 2021 should be announced?

We were on Oosterdam last week and was told that 2021 South America should come out around April.
