Your answers are valid. But we always give more to the room service staff and housekeeping because we are in our room more than others. We never intend to "stiff" anyone, and I could take offense to that post, but I know it came from other posts where others do not want to pay gratuities at all. It was just a question about re distributions. I'll just leave it as we have always done. Give the requested ship gratuities, and give more to those who do the extra services for us. End of discussion!

This has been covered ad nauseum on the many hundreds of tipping threads on CC. Please - not another one.
DON
I know, Don. But this is a question I have not seen. Excuses me for not always being up to date. We Have always paid the gratuities. Not like others who do not want to pay. But what about redistribution ?

We have always paid the recommended tips, however we do not eat in the MDR. We do get room service for our evening meal and use the buffet for other meals. I feel tipping the MDR could be better used for the others. Any thoughts?

Anyone have any info on the room service menu? We eat dinner such as sandwich, soup, cheese, etc in the room at night. I am used to the Holland Line and this will be our first time on Celebrity. Thanks

Got moved from 7014 which had big metal pillars to 7070. Any obstructions in that cabin?
-
We are going on Jan3,2016. All the sweet 16 on the starboard side are booked. My choice was 6040 or 7070 right above on deck 7. I opted for 7070 as it has rooms on top and bottom.
Also we are on the flight from Miami on Jan1. Arrive Jan 2 and staying at the Sheraton Buenos Aires that Celebrity uses. Don't know if there are more than one Sheratons. Flight # is 909 American airlines.

Thank you all for your help. I emailed my TA to change cabins. The video was great to see the rooms, as we are used to the larger Holland rooms. But it looks plenty large with all the storage.

I can't get the link for the review on my iPad. Any way to get it?

Infinity cabin 7014. Obstructed view?
-
My TA booked us into cabin 7014. it is the most forward veranda on deck 7. From the photo, it looks like it will have two large metal columns in the front. Any info on that cabin? Also, the sweet 16, do you get noise from the. Showroom below on deck 6?

Booked a South America cruise today. Told my TA the board says the larger veranda balconies are on deck 6. Over the showroom? But she said they are on deck 7. I am a Holland 3 star and never been on a Celebrity. Can anyone compare room size. And is the larger balcony on deck 6 or 7. Thanks

We love the cabins 220 and 205 on these ships. The balcony
is much larger but the cabin are the same. Some people do not like the
fact that the outside door is right out the cabin but we have not found
this to be a noise problem. The aft deck is perfect for shade after sometime
up at the pool area. I love that we can leave our room go out the door and
up one flight of stairs to the pool!
I have not heard any excessive noise from the dining room and this class of
ship never has a crowded feeling. We are going on the 34 day Hawaii/Tahiti next April
and I am counting the days already!
Is this rooms veranda large enough for a chase lounge?
-
We leave next Sun for 31 days on Statendam. Same cabin #220. Do you have any photos of the veranda? I got that room just for the extra veranda space. Can we get a lounge for the balcony including the chairs and table. We are going to South America and it will be hot, and we spend lots of time on the balcony just watching the ocean.

If you are on a ship that has laundry, they also have an ironing board and iron. The washing and drying machines take quarters you can get from the front desk. The machines also have automatic detergent added to the load, so you don't need any.

I think that picture is of a suite, not veranda.

We are on the Nov. 2 cruise and booked the excursion with Hal. Yes, it is very expensive, but they take care of everything and you are guaranteed to get back on the ship. This is my only chance to see it and my husband can't sit in an airplane that long from the US to Peru to take an independent trip. Yes 7-10 days would be awesome, but I will take the 3 days and am willing to pay for it. IMO

Only going to be in Lima for 3 days. Don't know of any private tours that can guarantee to get you there and back in 3 days. Don't have a problem with attitude and the bus and hotels have oxygen. If you have taken the tour, any info would be helpful, but again, we are only there for 3 days.

We will be on the 31 day Inca Empire cruise in Nov. Machu Picchu is a must see for us. The Hal excursions are $3000.00 pp for 3 days. I need info on how this excursion was. Also know people booked their own excursion, but I don't know the specifics. Any. Information on this would be helpful as we will do it one way or the other.

Thank you so much for your posts. Cruise Critic is a wonderful site and I enjoy the information from regular passengers so much. Coming onboard tomorrow. And can't wait for info about your cruise as we are going next Nov.

We will be on the Dec 4 cruise. Please keep us informed on how bad the illness is on the ship. Also love your posts as we will be doing this same trip next Nov. I am looking forward to your blog. Thank you.
