  1. I’m sorry but I have to ask, what the flaming hell is an ‘emotional support animal’?? Never had ‘em twenty years ago! Guide dogs and hearing dogs are fantastic and incredibly well trained and would never poop on the floor of an inside area. This sounds like a silly excuse to bring a pet with you rather than pay for kennelling. Sorry I’m from Yorkshire, England....we tend to speak our minds.

  2. That hasn't been my experience on P&O ships with two Freedom restaurants (I admit I haven't been on Britannia).

On the other ships you were allocated to one of the Freedom restaurants, but that was only for the first night. After that you could use either.

We found the opposite last year on Ventura, one night we miscounted what floor we were on and went to the ‘wrong’ restaurant. After a few minutes of confusion,we were told that we were on the wrong floor and we had to go down a level to our allocated restaurant. My wife and daughter laughed at me cos I was sure I was on the right level.

  3. B2B shouldn't be a problem. In the past I have booked direct with RCL but for our last three cruises and our upcoming B2B( our third) I have used a uk TA, generally got better prices.

I agree with airfare makes an expensive 7 days. Jus,t ensure you have the same cabins for both weeks they are counted as two separate cruises.

Thank mate. If we do this we will be booking our own flights instead of using RCI, they seem massively more expensive than booking ourselves. Any issue with this you can see? We would plan to arrive a day before the cruise date just to be safe.

  4. Hi all

Next year my daughter turns 18, wife turns 50 and daughter will be leaving home to go to university so we are planning a BIG holiday to celebrate. We all fancy a Caribbean cruise on one of RCI’s big ships (only ever done Brilliance and Spelndour before so fancying a Oasis class just to see what they are like) but flying all that way for a seven day cruise seems a long way to fly for a short week, so we are fancying a B2B cruise to make a 14 night cruise. I have a couple of question though if you don’t mind. We will have to cruise in July 2019 as DD can’t have time out of her exam year, will this be a issue for cruising the Caribbean with potential adverse weather? Will RCI UK be able to help us book a B2B with regard to flights , transfers and hotels etc as you don’t seem to be able to select a B2B online?

    Thanks all

  5. I know the new rules regarding how much alcohol you can bring aboard, but does the same rule apply to soft drinks. I only drink diet caffeine free coke (yes, I know that’s basically brown fizzy water:-) ) and was planning on bring a case with me?

  6. After we booked it I found out the TA was wrong and that we could book Lorna into a room on her own. I think the TA was used to other cruise lines that insist on the named passenger been over 18. We did think about swapping my wife to my room but as someone pointed out to me, I got free parking and my wife and daughter got £50 OBC each. If we swap my wife over we loose £50.

  7. Hi all

We are going on a 14night cruise on Azura in July this year. This is our 4th cruise with P&O (2 on Ventura and one of Britannia) but it’s the first time we have booked two rooms as our daughter is now 17 and kinda needs her own space. We therefore booked two inside rooms on B deck next to each other through a TA. We were told as our daughter was only 17 that we needed to book one room in my name, and the other is my wife’s name with our daughter as the second passenger. We were told just to swap my wife to my room when we got there. I now know that is not quite the case and we could have put our daughter in her own room on her own, but what’s done is done. Question is will reception allow my wife a room card with my room on it just in case she want to go to our room without my card? Can we link the two bookings to aid booking trips and how will having two bookings affect our dining options? Will we be able to get a table for three? (We are on freedom dining). Thanks all.

  8. Just been looking and it seems that these new ships will be the joint 3rd biggest cruise ships in the world, just behind RCI’s Oasis class of ships. Now I do like the bigger ships, but I’ve avoided these behemoths as I think they distance you from the sea, you might as well be in a hotel so I also feel pando are going the wrong way. They should have worked on a version of Britannia that works, I.e. one with a central staircase and a proper promenade deck.

  9. Hi

We have just booked a 14 night cruise for July this year on Azura. We’ve been on Britannia once and Ventura twice before but never Azura. I know on paper that Ventura and Azura are almost identical but they seem to have widely differing reviews, with most seeming to prefer Azura. Just wondering what if any are the differences and people’s views on Azura.

    Thanks

  10. Hi all

I have a quick question about the loyalty tier points. My wife and I have done two cruises now with P&O and we are now both Pacific tier level. Our 16 year old daughter has only done the one, as last years cruise was our silver wedding and she stayed with friends, and so she has only the points from the first cruise, and according to p&O she has not yet achieved Pacific level. I however thought that children under 18 shared there parents points level and that she would be the same as us if she is with us as she will be this year? Have I got this wrong?

    Thanks

  11. Last year was our 25th wedding anniversary and so we went on Britannia to the fjords. Loved the cruise and we dined in Epicurean, Sindu, as well as the Limelight club. We loved Sindu, a lot, really nice meal. But we were slightly disappointed with Epicurean. Food was good, if some of the food combinations were a little odd, service was excellent, it just seeemd to lack something. Neither my wife or myself could put our finger on what but we left feeling a little underawed. We will give it another go on Ventura in June.

  12. Hi

We are onboard Ventura in June for a 17night cruise this year. It will be our third P&O cruise, we were on Britannia last year in the fjords and Ventura the year before. Now we are not massive foodies but like nice food nevertheless. I am worried by the comments regarding the quality of food recently. I accept that the buffet is what it is, we only use it for breakfast and sometimes lunch, normally salad etc. But we like a nice meal in the MDR in the evening. Last couple of times we have found the food in the MDR to be fine, not Michelin star quality but perfectly edible and pleasant. Has the quality dropped that much in the last year? Will we be disappointed?

  13. Hi, I'm having an odd problem with the pando website. I'm looking to book a cruise in June on Ventura and I'm looking for the best price before I book. Last year whilst on Britannia we paid for two next cruise certificates and also achieved the first tier on the pennisular club. When I made a online booking enquiry the other day, I entered both mine and my wife's pennisular number into the site and it happily recognised them and applied the appropriate reduction and added the on-board spending. Was about to book when my wife thought she had better check with her work that she could have the leave, so I exited the booking. Now ever since whenever I try to enter the correct pennisular numbers the site tells me that it cannot find any customer with that name and number combination; for either myself or my wife. I first thought it was a site glitch, but even a few days later it's still doing it. I spoke to P&O today and they checked on their system and the numbers are correct as are the rest of my details, but she was unable to tell me what the issue was as she didn't know. I guess I can book over the phone but just wondered if anyone here can shed any light on what's going on?

  14. We were on Ventura last year and enjoyed most of the headliners shows. The ones we didn't enjoy wasn't because they were bad, just not to our tastes. Didn't see any of the comedians but we did see a Phil Collins tribute act that was ok, but the sound system was too loud and distorted and a Michael Buble trite be act that was very good.
