  1. I know that for the world cruise we’re on our own for the test before boarding. Must be 48 hours before boarding. Or within 48 hours.
  2. Did the people that were continuing on after Sydney need to disembark, quarantine and then fly home or could they isolate on the ship? I'm wondering what will happen on the 111 day world cruise. I hope we can just isolate until we test negative and continue on.
  3. Our food on the Emerald in February was the worst food I’ve ever had on a cruise ship. Makes me kind of dread the 111 day world cruise as far as dining. But we have a fantastic Cruise Critic group with a huge amount of private tours and group activities. We’ll have a great time even with the odd menus and poorly cooked food (if that’s what it comes to). I saw 14 days of menus and the food looked as odd and unappetizing as it was on the Emerald.
  4. Does the Island have a winemakers dinner? I was under the impression they don’t.
  5. You may not worry about them because of a strike, but I really worry about them. My experience is they cut flights right and left. They leave you with not one flight available for 2 or 3 days on either side. I’m totally disillusioned by the change in flight availability. They’ll cut a 2.5 hour nonstop flight and put you on a 12 or 13 hour flight another day. All the miles I have on southwest have become a waste. I’m forced to fly with everyone else. I used to be their biggest fan. Not any more. .
  6. We heard it was to start on November 1 or a similar date, but never heard of it actually happened. We’re on a Thanksgiving cruise with our family and we only have one grandchild under 5. She loves to play with other kids.
  7. When we were on the Emerald last February, the food was terrible. For example, the escargot was prepared without even a hint of garlic. Tasted terrible.
  8. If this is true it will be a huge problem for us on the 2023 world cruise.
  9. Does anyone have a picture of a caribe deck extended balcony cabin including the table? I’d appreciate it. Thanks
  10. Ok, so not a perk from the TA. It was the purchased upgrade instead of the basic with no perks. That’s what confused me. We did the same.
  11. Do you receive it as a perk or just pay the Plus price instead of the Basic (no frills) price? Or do you pay the no frills price and get the Plus thrown in for free?
  12. We are also thinking it is going to be a little hard getting NZ Sauvignon Blancs. We’re on the 111 day world cruise and hope the Plus Package works out better than it sounds like right now.
  13. For many of us, it’s not the “deal” , it’s the experience. For example, on an around the world cruise we spent 12 nights off the ship in various countries to experience things we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. It has nothing to do with how much we paid for the cruise.
  14. You could be correct, but I have received a letter to be off the ship for 5 nights and reboard in another country. You don’t know until you ask. Good luck to the OP.
  15. If this is important to you, I would ask my TA or Princess planner to request the overnight now. There is a department that handles this. Then when you get the written (email) ok from Princess, just print it out and take it with you. If you don’t get the ok, you have time to fight it. We did and it was later okayed.
  16. I have to say you shocked me about the mocktails. What’s that all about!?!?🤷🏼‍♀️
  17. I looked through everything again and saw that my medallion selection section hadn’t locked into the choice of medallion, lanyard etc. My husbands had. So I did that again and now I’m green. Thanks!
  18. I feel like I have everything filled out. I keep going over it and can’t see anything missing. I have a gold orange exclamation mark on my name and my husband has a green check mark. I’m showing blue lane. Something seems wrong. The only thing it could be is we are both waiting for Medallion approval on our vaccine cards?
  19. My impression is some of that changed last Saturday with the start of the new package. But sounds like wine prices increased the most.
  20. I totally agree that if they are covered under the package it makes no difference. But once the prices are going up and we are paying $2-$9 up charge per glass to get a decent wine (if that comes to pass) then the amount of wine per glass matters. As it always does for anyone without a package.
  21. I can’t seem to find that list. Are you able to guide me to it? TIA
  22. I was on the ship in January 2020. It was old, dumpy and had propulsion issues so we missed a port and had shortened port stays at others. They knew it was a disaster then. No excuse they didn’t fix it
  23. We prefer New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. I see very little of that wine offered by the glass. We have the Plus package for the 2023 World Cruise. Sure hope we’ll be coming up with some Plus wines we like for 111 days. We bought the package 16 months ago when many wines by the glass were shown as covered.
  24. I used the bathrobes each as the main item in a “Spa Basket” I donated to a charity auction. Did the same for cookbook in a “Cook’s Basket”. We drove to port so that helped.
