Edit. My original post was incorrect.

I just received a very random CC refund from Princess Cruise Res in the amount of 363.07. I've never left unused OBC on a previous cruise and can't imagine that any reduction in port fees on my future booked cruises would result in this high of a refund. And I have no emails from Princess to explain this refund. Do any of you have a clue where this may have originated?

Yeah...I'm excited NOT. We have a 54-day cruise booked in '26. Same menu every day on 7, 10, 15 day cruise...OK. But, 54 days? ☹️
But the MDR is usually only open on sea days. How many of those 54 days are you in port? Between the buffet, the Lido and the MDR, there's lots of options for variety.

I really like the look of this new menu. Lots of options to mix things up, even on a longer cruise. And the upcharge items look to be a fairly good value.

Have you asked what's wrong with the ship?

Does anyone have a link to the post about the new standard menu or a screenshot of it? I'd love to see what's on offer.

Heck, I don't even have a problem with the limited breakfast menu. I'd just be happy if it ever came hotter than lukewarm.

Someone posted a set lunch menu that doesn’t change. It looks great with a lot of great choices. My favorite menu on Princess is the embarkation lunch, shrimp and avacado, lemon butter dill salmon and orange soufflé. Will they still serve that on embarkation???
That's my favorite lunch as well.

I'm glad you enjoyed the itinerary and tours. And I agree that the Lido pizza is delicious. It's a shame the food was a let down. The smaller buffet on the Grand Class ships just can't offer the same amount of variety that the Royal Class ships can. And I agree that they have gone full penny pinching mode with the food. But I'm not a picky eater, so as long as I can lay in the sun and read a good book, I'm happy not to cook or clean.

Though I agree with your reply to OP, keep in mine that this upgrade bidding is “gaming the system” that Princess created and not OP. OP is just trying to figure out why he can’t currently play the game.
But again, I agree with you regarding his/her last sentence.
Cheers
That reply was not to the OP, but to a commenter on the post.
I'd also like to point out to anyone else who comes along, that the Princess Upgrade Bid Program is NOT handled by Princess. They outsourced it to a third party to handle, so calling in to complain to Princess that you can't participate is wasted time. Bottom line. Book a room you'll be happy with. Participate if you want in the upgrade lottery, and if you don't win, at least you'll still be on the ship. -
Following along as I will be onboard next week when you depart. I also did New Year's on Discovery last year and it was a BLAST! So I know you're in for an amazing cruise. I'm going to have a fun time following your posts.

If you don't get emailed the offer or see it in your onboard offers you can also check directly at this link. Not everyone qualifies though, as already noted above.

Not mine...not sure which one my phone is showing. It is still showing the purchase of the Medallion device for the 2 cruises I cancelled along with the one we are still going on?
Are you sure you're quoting my post? Because I feel this might be a different issue.

Are there American Mahjong sets on the Discovery Princess?
No. Bring any game sets you'd like to play.

@iamaqt2 thank you for posting about the app. I have pinned the thread so it stays on the first page/top.
Thank you! Makes it much easier to share information and offer help and suggestions.

We are if you’re on the Jan 6th sailing. I actually like the app .. just some minor problems. Change is sometimes hard for all of us … so guess I will get used to the new one if I can get it to work for me. No sense it judging it just yet.Yes, Jan 6. And I like the look of the new app as well. It's still slightly glitchy, but onboard functionality has always been better for me.

Good thing my old app works for now. I got in on the new app and it logged me right back out within 20 seconds time. Now, it won’t let me back in… just keeps circling the drain. 😆 So, I will be using the old app for now. I have a cruise planned for a week and a half from now .. we will see how it goes.I believe we're sailing together on Discovery. We can test drive the new app in real time.

Who does Princess think they are with those SD prices? Disney?

If one is sailing in just a few days and the old app is working, is there any reason to upset the apple cart at this point?
I cruise in 10 days. I plan on testing the new app once onboard.

Well, the new app has finally made an appearance. When opening the Medallion app it prompts you to download the new app. They are 2 separate apps for now. The first log in immediately timed out and required a second log in. So far it looks like it crossed over all information from old app.

Sun Princess: feeling jerked around by the bidding process
in Princess Cruises

There are only 6 of these cabins in this cat on the whole ship. The chance of you actually getting one is slim to none. It might have been a guarantee, but people with disabilities need these cabins. You'll likely be assigned a much better cabin location. I wouldn't spend a lot of money on the upgrade bids.
