We ended up paying the driver to drive us to from Knossos and to a couple of other sites. It was a little tour thing they offered. I think it was 30 euro per person. I don’t know the rate from pier to Knossos.

Last year when we got off ship there were plenty of taxi’s. We grabbed a taxi to Knossos and then to Heraklion to go to the archeological museum and have lunch. We walked back from the town to to the port. At the port there is a shuttle bus from port area to ship (probably so folks are walking the port area on foot).

Hi cruisers! When we finish up our Oceania cruise in April we will be heading to Moorea for a couple of nights at the Hilton. Is the ferry dock walkable (with luggage) from the cruise dock? When the ferry arrives to Moorea will there be cabs waiting (it will be Sunday if that makes a difference) or do we need to prearrange transport to the Hilton? Thanks in advance for any info!

Going on our first cruise to French Polynesia in April. We have an overnight in Bora Bora. We would like to enjoy a great sunset. Would our best bet be booking a sunset cruise or going to a particular place on land or enjoy the view from the cruise ship? If you recommend a sunset cruise do you have any tour company recommendation? Thanks so much in advance Cruise Critic BB experts!

RV Queen we are on a cruise out of Barcelona in a month. I have my air booked with Delta (did not use EZ Air) and today I filled out the Delta FlyReady info and Delta linked me over to also complete the SP TH (Spain Health). I completed what could be done now- the balance of the Spain requirement I will need to complete 72 hours before travel. If you within a month of travel you may find the info through your airline. Happy travels!

Nini- we are a group of four and I am arranging to book a private cab driver for the day. I realize there will be a bit of craziness at the port .I am thinking we that I would shoot for a 6:30am pick up. (Our ship is in port 5am -7pm.) That way we are not fighting to get off the ship as soon as we dock and clear but early enough to get to St Peter’s before it gets too crowded. Does that plan sound reasonable with those of you who have visited Rome via Civitavecchia? Thank you to those who have replied! I always appreciate the help fellow cruises give on these boards!

Hi there! We will be on the Regal in a couple of months (from Barcelona to Athens)and planning a private excursion for our Rome port visit. We would like to plan a early start to Rome. The port time is listed from 5am to 7 Pm. Does anyone know if you can leave the ship as early as 6 am to get into Rome early? For the Regal Princess I know they will have some passengers ending their cruise in Rome as Barcelona, Rome and Athens are all points when they debark/embark . So I am a little worried this will interfere with getting off early to head to Rome. What do you think? Also we booked this as a 14 day cruise so I presume we won’t have to go through the same process as B2B (with getting checked in). If anyone can confirm that would be great! Thanks!

Well I just confirmed with my TA that their contribution of OBC will not appear until 24-48 hours of boarding. 🥲That is a bummer for excursion planning.

Thank you all for your comments. Do most TA OBC post to account before sailing? I booked with a large Cruise agency. I am about 80 days out and I don’t see it. I am still also waiting for the Shareholder benefit to book. Sent that off a few weeks ago- does it usually take this long?

We are returning to cruising after a long break! We have a nice amount of OBC coming from our travel agent for our upcoming Princess cruise. Our intent is to use the credit to book excursions. We went on the Princess to book excursions it looks like you have to pay upfront with a Credit card when we hoped to put it on our folio to use the OBC against the excursions. Are we out of luck with booking excursions until we board the ship or is there a way to book them in advance without prepayment on CC?

Sorry one more question. Has anyone used this on the private vehicle/ driver excursions that Princess offers?
