Hi Norris,
You've got a good touch with trip reports.
My Lady Wife and I are greatly enjoying this one.
We shall be sailing another of the R ships, The Insignia, soon, and The Pacific Princess next year.

Hi Bim,
Pleased to hear that you enjoyed Da Raffaele as much as we did about 10 yrs ago.

Hi TUA,
>Cannot see using significantly fewer stewards as they same number of people will need to be seated and fed.
It's a matter of demand.
With fixed dining you have a high point, where all of your staff are used, a slump where no one is dining and then a high demand.
With open seating the demand is more evenly distributed.

CCL closed today at $34.41.
That is because I bought it last week at $35.85.
I plan to hold it.
Expect the price to continue to drop.

>Definitely not your grandmother's cruise anymore.<
Too bad, really.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to go to Vegas?

Hi J,
Different markets have different rules.
In the US, **** If the cancellation deadline has not passed ***** your TA can get you the better rates.
Good luck

Hey Canuck,
>PLAN & RESEARCH YOUR PORTS!! Print out the details, put them in a folder in a day to day order. Throw away as you go. Include what you need for the day ex: cash, return times, contact numbers etc..How anyone can travel without a plan is beyond me
Absolutely. Now that we have small computers and tablets they can back up the paper.

Hi Sti,
Doesn't your suite come with a butler?
This is his job.
Tell him what you require.
Enjoy your evening.

>the lady in the Lido wearing a bathrobe and barefooted during breakfast was disgusting.
When I was an undergraduate, the dining hall doors were locked at 09:00.
Thus, there were many people who showed up at 08:57 in various stages of dress - usually wearing a raincoat.
One morning, a young woman in a raincoat set down her tray opposite me, took off her raincoat and sat down,
She then realized that she was wearing a "baby doll" night dress - without the top.
I was not disgusted. :)

> I find it rude to not remove your hat when sitting down to eat. I would not say it to the person. Can't change what people wear to dine in.<
If everyone were to point out to these arrogant twits that they are behaving in an inappropriate manner, it would eventually cause them to stop.
Ira
PS: Do not do this in Georgia. We allow everyone to carry a sidearm anywhere AND have a "stand your ground" law.

> Folks who remove their shoes and prop up their feet on an adjacent chair. I'm not aware of any country where this would be a cultural norm.
I agree. When I taught at a Major State University, the students wouldn't bother to take off their shoes.

Hey Mak,
>.... people reaching in with their hands multiple times and eating ....
How about when they pick something up, taste it and put it back?

HI ig,
You need a UK--> Continental and/or a UK--> US adapter not a converter.
Enjoy your visit.

HI Alp,
Have you considered calling HAL?
Enjoy your cruises.

>the dining room manager came over and politely asked me to remove my hat.
Would you have preferred him to have rudely pulled it off your head, thrown it on the floor and stamped on it?

Laraine says,
>I was able to get flights from Phoenix to Vancouver/Seattle to Phoenix for less than the air credit -- amazing.
Actually, it is not uncommon.
For our Dec cruise to the Amazon, we could fly for about $100 pp less than the cruise credit.
For our upcoming AK cruise (on another line) we could buy tickets for 2 for $200 less than the cruise line credited us.

correct spelling
I think it appropriate to point out that if the idea of an "earthing half sheet" is to create a pathway for the human body to be connected to Mother Earth and, thereby, provide health benefits it won't work aboard a ship on the ocean.
The electrons coming out of the water will be "wet", while those on land are "dry".
Thus, the interactions between the various subatomic particles contained within them will not be the same
