  1. Hello Dartmoordan,I have today received lots of photographs of every area on the Adonia but I can't post them on here thowever, if you wish to you can e-mail me at pmm1949@tiscali.co.uk leaving your e-mail address and I will forward them on to you. It will give you a good look around the ship.

    Pat

I have just emailed you look forward to seeing them

    Thank you for doing this.:):)

  2. Well I am on her next week, on her first cruise back with P@O. We wanted to book a suite but they were sold out very quickly , I think because of the half price offer that we and others received.

We are in a balcony cabin, B deck midships and I will be taking lots of photos. And will report back how I find her.

But....I have never been successful in uploading them to CC as a decent size....if anyone can help with advice on that would be very welcome! Mine always end up as little thumbnails!

I hope you enjoy your cruise next week we are trying her in December our first P and O cruise if you can please post something about her, we're looking forward to hearing what her balcony cabins are like and the general condition since her return from Fathom. Hoping to hear something :):)

  3. sorry to hear your news I wish your wife well for her forthcoming treatment. We have had to cancel a cruise on medical grounds previously the letter from our GP was all that was needed for our insurance all sorted out without any fuss at all.We didn't have any other expenses as it was too far away for hotels and parking.

  4. Adonia have the perfect cruise for us, but a bit worried on going on such a small ship as we have 6 sea days out of 14. Will there be enough to do,we don't use spas, gyms or dance, but do enjoy the lectures and recitals during the day.

How well does she ride rough seas? Are the balconiy cabins a reasonable size? Not sure about club dining, we've only had freedom before, what if we don't get on with our dinner companions?

The smallest ship we have been on so far is Aurora.

Have to say I do like the idea of not walking miles to get anywhere on the Adonia as we were constantly lost on the bigger ships.

No recent British reviews on her as she is still with Fathom in the US.

When are you considering your cruise? we have booked the 1st December to the caribbean we do like the smaller ships they seam to have a nicer ambience about them. We like relaxing and meeting new people and so far we have been lucky with our table mates on other ships and got on with them all. I'm sure you will enjoy the Adonia.

  5. Thank you all for your replies it's great to get some positive feedback Aurora is looking to be favorite. The comments regarding her atmosphere and space have been great to read. Going to phone Pand O to try and book her if the beds are ok. We are sailing on Adonia in December but only for 14 nights so really looking forward to that one.

  6. I have just read your review thank you for such a balanced report. It was good to read some positive things about the ship as we are considering a 25 night round trip from Southampton on her. Desperately trying to make up our minds between Aurora and Adonia.

  7. We have been looking at a few cruises in March our favorites seem to be Adonia to Caribbean and Aurora. The Aurora is looking the favorite but I am considering doing a saver fare for the first time as it is considerable cheaper even taking off the OBC. Can anyone tell us if they have any fixed single beds in the balcony cabins I know that oceana does but unsure if this applies to all their ships. We are quite happy with singles for a week but for 25 nights prefer to be tucked up together. I do like the look of the ship especially the domed pool and she does appear to have a good selection of bars and restaurants. Any positive feedback on the Aurora will be gratefully received.

    Many thanks:cool::cool:

  8. I believe you can apply if you are a retired Civil Servant.

Do you happen to know if you can apply if you are an nhs pensioner? I was a nurse for 42 years and only just took my pension this year booked our first P and O cruise while I was still employed.

  9. Hi Rick not done premium with TC but have with BA and Thomson's, meals were the same as standard but drinks were free flowing if you wanted them and included in your price. The seats are definitely worth it for us I'm such a fidget flying it's so much more comfortable with the extra room.

  10. we usually pay and choose our cabin we have been in 7027 and it was a great location as far as peace and quiet went, you could find you're above the night club or show lounge we met a couple who were in that situation who found that quite difficult. Enjoy your cruise you know once you have completed one you are subject to addiction.:D:D

  11. We are new to P and O and will be sailing on Adonia in December, Could anyone of you experienced P and O cruisers tell us if there is a wine package available? My OH is convinced there is but I cannot find anything about one on our cruise personaliser or their website at all. We are not big drinkers but do like wine with dinner and a package often works out better value.

  12. We always book Adults Only, and we only cruise in early Spring and September onwards. We are a very young 78 and 70 and still think the entertainment is sometimes for war babies!! I like the musicals though. We don't play bingo!! We were on Azura once and found everything horrendously loud, like the seascreen and piped music. Found the ship too big for us. Having travelled on Fred recently, we really did feel we were in an OP home. P&O seems to have younger oldies if that makes sense :-)

That's good to know as we are trying P and O for the first time in December on the Adonia and were hoping for some "younger oldies" we are early 60's and not into too much loud music but do like a little more up to date things than Fred does.

  13. I'm not sure either, it's good to have tips included which Thomsons do without their all inclusive package but as we are not big drinkers of alcohol it would very much depend on the cost and the inclusion of specialty coffees. Princess do a soda and coffee package which worked out great for us as I do like my coffee and OH likes his soft drinks. We have wine with dinner and an after dinner tipple but our ships bill is never very high. I don't know what packages if any P and O do as December will be our first time with them.

  14. Not sure why you haven't chosen your seats - why wait?

Sent from my SM-T700 using Forums mobile app

It states in my CP that the option isn't available until 90 days before but I'll check again in case that's changed as I see from an earlier post people have chosen their seats.for January.

  15. Premium is for us definitely worth it, more room and better service makes the long flight go much faster. We have Virgin for our flight in December to the caribbean and have upgraded for a reasonable cost when compared to scheduled prices.Haven't chosen our seats yet as it's still too far away. As it is a special cruise for us celebrating my retirement we have been naughty and booked upper class on the way back, hoping to sleep before the drive home:):)
